The purpose of this study is to measure out-surface temperatures of a newly-launched 6,700 tonnage training ship for each season from July 2007 to April 2008. The solar heat gain is important factor in indoor thermal loads and HVAC. Different thermal conditions are measured in the port side and the starboard side with the locations of the sun.

At the points of the labor environment related to the productivity and the health care of the crewmen, the control of the indoor air quality(IAQ) on a ship is very important, because crewmen are working and living in a air-tighter indoor spaces of a ship than those of buildings on the land. In this paper, TYOC, HCHO are measured as the barometer of indoor air quality of a newly-launched 6,700 tonnage training ship. On measuring processes, it is cleared that the indicated IAQ values are almost below the legal limits except special affairs.

The purpose of this study is to measure a thermal conditions of the various cabins in a newly-launched 6,700 tonnage training ship. The temperature, humidity, air supply volume of each cabins' are measured. On measuring processes, it is cleared that the inner conditions are within the comfort area proposed by ASHRAE, but each cabins are measured that temperature distribution is different. Especially saloon is measured to low temperature as 19℃.

The purpose of this study is to simulate and evaluate the evacuation time of un-trained passengers on boards with various visibility conditions at the mock fire. Simulation results show that at least 54 seconds is needed for safe evacuation of standard fire condition. As the results of measurements, to save more lives at the conditions of low visibility conditions and obstacles, which make passengers at a state of confusion, new mechanical systems and inducing lights for ships must be reconsidered immediately.

On measuring processes, it is cleared that the inner conditions are not within the comfort area proposed by ASHRAE, mainly because of the low humidities indicated below 25%.
