예술 기반의 STEAM 융합교육 : 미래형 인재 양성을 위한 방안 탐구

본 연구는 융합형 인재 양성을 위한 사고와 전략 방안을 도출하기 위하여 다음과 같은 연구 목적을 가지고 진행하였다. 연구 목적은 동·서양을 아우르는 과거와 현대예술작품들과 관련된 문헌을 조사하여 예술과 과학·기술의 조화로운 만남을 탐색해 보고, 작가들의 작품 창작에 대한 예술 철학을 분석하여 우리 사회에서 요구하는 미래형 인재 양성을 위한 방안을 탐색하는 것이다. 본 연구의 결과는 과학·기술 중심의 STEAM 교육이 아닌, 과학·기술과 예술의 상보적 만남을 통한 미래 인재 교육을 할 수 있는 기초 자료로 사용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. 본 연구는 문헌연구를 기반으로 고등학교 미술문화 과목의 ‘미술과 통합’ 단원에서 예술에 과학·기술을 융합하여 작품을 창작한 예술가들을 조사한 후, 분석을 하여 미래형 인재 양성을 위한 방안을 탐구하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 작가들을 분석한 결과 가정환경, 유년시절의 흥미, 취미, 독서, (대)학교 교육이 예술작품에 과학·기술을 포함한 다양한 학문을 융합할 수 있는 접근의 밑거름이 되었다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 예술가들의 분석을 통해서 알 수 있었던 미래형 인재 양성을 위한 전략적 방안은 타 학문과의 융합 능력을 함양시키는 것이다. 타 분야와의 융합은 예술가의 상상력을 자극하고, 작품 창작에 필요한 창의적·확장적 사고를 하는데 중요한 역할을 하였기 때문이 다. 셋째, 예술가들의 분석을 통해서 미래 사회에서 요구되는 가장 필요한 소양은 협업적 태도와 소통 능력이라는 것을 알 수 있었다. The purpose of this study is to explore a strategy for educating students with integrated thinking ability. There are two main purposes; the first one is to examine artists who have integrated arts and various studies based on science and technology through Art textbooks developed by a standard of national curriculum. From this examine, I have tried to find out artists’philosophy that is important strategies when they are working on works of art, and I have also tried to draw a specific method to educate students with integrated thinking ability; the second one is to provide a basic information to educate students requested in the future society. The methodology of this study is a literature research that are focused on Art textbooks using in a high school since 2014. Through an analysis of Art textbooks based on five standards of selection for achieving the purpose of this research, I have selected five artists working with computer technologies, science, mathematics, medical science, biology, engineering, and various studies. The findings are as follows: First, the strategy for educating a talented person needed in the future world is to recognize an importance of education in home and school. Second, we should teach and encourage students to have a creative and flexible mind using the concept of STEAM education which is an integrating approach between science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics subjects. Lastly, we as a teacher and researcher should let students know a collaborate attitude and way of communication between each other in the multicultural society.
