A Simulation Study for Practical Control of a Quadrotor
Noh, Jeongho,Song, Yongkyu Research India Publications 2017 International Journal of Applied Engineering Rese Vol.12 No.21

In this paper a thorough simulation study is performed and analyzed for practical control of a quadrotor. After a systematic construction of a control system, linear and nonlinear techniques are compared to see their performances on position control of a quadrotor. In the simulation heading-hold and heading-varying commands are tried and the feedback effects of Euler angular rates and body rates are also examined. Finally an effective technique for long distance guidance is proposed.

Efficient Test Scenario Construction for a Wheel Speed Sensor
Jang, Joong Soon,Kim, Dong K.,Park, Sang C. Research India Publications 2018 International Journal of Applied Engineering Rese Vol.13 No.1

Sensors have many formats in existence, and there is nothing close to an international standard for sensor specifications. Since, sensors are often related to safety issues, most of manufacturers perform testing for every sensors after manufacturing. To test a sensor, it is necessary to develop a test scenario consisting of test steps. Preparation of the test scenario for a given sensor requires a significant amount of efforts and time. In order to relieve the difficulties, this paper provides a common platform for preparing test steps for various sensors by means of modularization. The proposed methodology has been applied to the test scenario construction of a speed sensor.

Improvement of Flood Disaster Information Map using the Spatial Inundation Data
Sun, Ji-Eun,Lee, Ji-Soo,Hong, Won-Hwa Research India Publications 2015 International Journal of Applied Engineering Rese Vol.10 No.10

Abnormal weather patterns around the globe are causing local torrential rain, which in turn, result in heavy human and property damage. Designated shelters and evacuation routes are provided to the public to mitigate damage but the survey indicates that more than half of them are located in areas that were flooded or have signs of flooding in the past. Objective of this study is to suggest consideration and improvement about location problem of current set shelters and lack of evacuation routes-provision. For this, survey and analysis were conducted for 60 designated shelters and around 40 evacuation routes in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, which was selected as high-risk district prone to natural disasters in 2011, and eventually suggest new ways to designate shelters and evacuation routes.

The cases of abnormal climate such as torrential heavy rain, storm, tidal wave, and drought have been more often observed due to climate changes caused by global warming. Particularly, localized heavy rain causes frequent flooding inside a city. It takes many lives and damages property and even threatens the safety of the residents in a flood risk. Nonetheless, the disaster countermeasures currently in use is nothing more than a code of conduct and even that is not well informed. Therefore, it can be said that disaster response system is not in place properly. Considering this current situation, the present study carried out a survey related to flood damage and found out that the residents in the areas vulnerable to flood have the poor awareness of disaster prevention and also disaster emergency system is insufficient. Therefore, this study was aimed to propose a guideline to water disaster prevention system by conducting a survey to know who citizens are aware of disaster response system.

Analysis on Main Parameters of Fire Service Deployment of 119 Recue Center Using Spatial Information
Lee, Ji-Soo,Lee, Seung-Yeob,Hong, Won-Hwa Research India Publications 2015 International Journal of Applied Engineering Rese Vol.10 No.18

Fire service is one of the essential public services to protect the people's lives and property from various dangers. As the urban structures have recently become more complicated and dense, the efficient placement and operation of fire service force is getting more important. In this respect, the present study developed a methodology to evaluate the performance of the key factors of fire service force quantitatively. This study proposes spatial information-based methodology that can be used as actual local evaluation indicator for the accessibility, the number of residents per fire service officer, buildings under the jurisdiction of a certain fire service organization, which are the key variables of evaluation service. When applying this research methodology to an real city in size of a district, this study found out that there was a wide deviation in fire service force. Particularly, the deviation turned out greater as fire service force was placed in lower urban hierarchy. To tackle this problem, it was found more effective to design a plan to place fire service force to narrow urban hierarchy first and then wide urban hierarchy in terms of correcting the unbalanced fire service force. Until now, studies have been carried out on the criteria to measure fire service force with, but no specific methodology to apply has been developed. In this, this study finds itself significance that proposing and applying a specific methodology will contribute to later evaluating and improving local fire service force.

A Study on Analysis of Operation Pattern for Energy Consumption Optimization of Maglev Train
Research India Publications 2014 International Journal of Applied Engineering Rese Vol.9 No.22

Urban maglev train is known to eco-friendly system which has a few vibration, noise and dust compared with other system. At Incheon International Airport demonstration route, it is preparing the opening of commercialization domestically for the first time. As a means of the environment friendly public transportation, it is expected to be a new growth engines. A final overall test of maglev system is ongoing at the Incheon maglev track currently, However, the study about energy consumption optimization method are not actively. This paper has done comparative analysis in the consumption of electric power of maglev train by operation pattern at Incheon International Airport demonstration route for energy savings of power consumption.

Development of AMI Service Software for Smart Water Grid
Kang, SeokRak,Shim, ByoungSup,Choi, SeokJun,Yum, KyungtTaek,Park, HyoungKeun Research India Publications 2015 International Journal of Applied Engineering Rese Vol.10 No.13

Recently, a high-efficient next generation infrastructure system that uses high-tech information and communication technology is required to surmount the limits of water resource management. As a result, Smart Water Grid (SWG) has lately been developed in an attempt to solve the regional imbalance of water resources through efficient distribution, manage and delivery of them. In this paper, AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) service system is a software program that can support various platforms and multiple communication standards interfaces on the basis of the systematic analysis and design of AMI service was developed in this study. In addition, certifying tests were commissioned (to the third party) the software for AMI operation to know the efficiency of the program.
