This study focuses on the technology alliance strategy that the United States seeks to pursue. This study examines the situation in which the US technology alliance strategy is not limited to military and security strategy including maritime strategy, but is expanding to the economic field including the overall industry. In the process, the author would like to check the impact on the development of science and technology in Korea and ultimately the implications for the Republic of Korea Navy. In conclusion, it is suggested to establish the role of the ROK Navy as a key force leading the ROK-US science and technology alliance, and to actively contribute to designing and promoting a new vision for the future ROK-US alliance.

This study examines the movements of major neighboring countries surrounding the Korean Peninsula, such as the United States, China, Japan, and Russia, regarding the development and operation of advanced science and technology-based Unmanned Maritime Vehicles(UMVs). In particular, the level of development of unmanned maritime systems in the four countries (US, China, Japan, and Russia) will be roughly confirmed, and the military strategy and direction of force management will be focused on promoting the development of unmanned maritime systems. Through this, we ultimately derive implications for the Republic of Korea Navy and suggest necessary preparations.

In the 19th century, the British Royal Navy held absolute supremacy, yet it was highly conservative in the face of change. How did the class structure of the British Navy change due to scientific and technological advancements in the 19th century, and what significance did such changes carry? In this study, an analysis of the changes in the class structure of the British Navy in the 19th century was conducted using the method of explanatory or causative case studies. The aim was to examine lessons and precautions for future wars based on this research. The analysis reveals that in response to the changing nature of warfare due to the emergence of new technologies, the British Royal Navy in the 19th century pursued the horizontal and diversified restructuring of its class system, driving military innovation. To effectively prepare for future wars, our navy must expedite military innovation through changes in tactics, doctrines, organization, and other aspects.

Software related to the safety critical function (SCF) used in military aircraft is designated as a safety support element (SSE), stricter development process should be applied. Therefore, it is very important to clearly identify software safety support elements in the early stages of aircraft development. However, the specific identification criteria are not clear and there are insufficient past cases to refer to, which are frequently subject to controversy at the development site. In this paper, the thread analysis model of the safety critical function of military aircraft software was studied through the analysis of the U.S. Air Forces Airworthiness Circular(AC-17-01). In addition, based on related research, the suitability of the method was verified by applying it to the actual military aircraft system development project, and a route analysis model was presented to ensure the stability and reliability of military aircraft software.

As the demand for drones increases, human and material damages that can occur during operation are also increasing. To prevent secondary damage caused by drone crashes, overseas aviation authorities and agencies classified drones by mission, performance, weight, safety requirements and kinetic energy, and established performance and technical standards. This study aims to suggest ways to improve drone survivability and flight safety through a drone drop flight demonstration test based on the amount of kinetic energy presented by overseas aviation authorities and agencies.

In this paper, in order to develop a mobile-based ship 3D model visualization program, collected the requirements of related stakeholders and based on this, commercial programs were evaluated. In addition, in the requirements collection stage, classification criteria for the user environment were presented, and a requirements analysis method that reflected the characteristics of shipbuilding environment and mobile devices was proposed.

In this study, a method for constructing a digital twin model of a naval system is explained and used to predict demand for spare parts. The performance of the model is compared with VARI-METRIC, a key algorithm of the OASIS model used by the Republic of Korea Navy. The digital twin model was superior to VARI-METRIC in all areas of predicting spare parts over the lifespan, change in cumulative inventory, and predicting CSP. The digital twin model requires continuous research in terms of its extensive scalability.

The mission-level model for analysis has been simulated by the ground troop level. However, an effectiveness analysis on the artillery fire plan cannot be performed in detail. In particular, in the marine operation plan analysis model(MOPAM), it is impossible to analyze the single shot effect of the maritime artillery fire. Thus, the single shot function had been needed in the mission-level model. Therefore, this study describes the development of the single shot function of the model. This function is simulated by applying the lethal radius of the single shot and the probability theory. We present a case study that analyzed the effect of the maritime artillery fire with the developed function, and briefly propose utilization plans from the case study.

Military advanced countries are competitively promoting the securing of advanced technologies for unmanned systems, and are developing a complex system that combines manned combat systems and unmanned systems to a considerable level. The Korean military is also developing unmanned systems for various purposes, and Defense Innovation 4.0 presents the establishment of an AI-based MUM-T as an important task. In this study, we studied the policy development plan of unmanned maritime system, which is expected to increase its use and become a significant combat force in the future marine warfare expanding to multi-domain. The future marine warfare pattern was predicted and the military operation concept was considered, and the policy development direction of unmanned maritime system was presented in terms of comprehensive aspects such as operation concept, securing of technology, and acquisition system.
