Neural Network-Based Prediction of NH3 Leakage from SCR Systems for Diesel Engines

Zhu Qiang,Jiehui Li 한국자동차공학회 2024 International journal of automotive technology Vol.25 No.1

In selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems, the urea injection control strategy is central to the control of NO x emissions. When urea is over-injected, ammonia leakage will occur downstream of the SCR. A neural network-based NH 3 leakage prediction model for diesel engine SCR systems is proposed in order that the dosing control unit (DCU) can reduce the corresponding urea injection volume according to the NH 3 leakage when calculating the urea injection volume. Back propagation (BP) neural network model and gated recurrent unit (GRU) model are developed respectively by code compilation software to predict the NH 3 leakage. The genetic algorithm (GA) is used to fi nd the optimal parameters of the two diff erent models. Bench tests are conducted to evaluate the model accuracy. Under historical test data, the root mean square errors of the fi nal GA-BP and GA-GRU models are 3.142 ppm and 2.378 ppm, respectively. The percentage of cumulative NH 3 leakage prediction error of GA-BP and GA-GRU are 4.808% and 3.745%, respectively. The results show that the method of using neural network for NH 3 leakage prediction is feasible, and GA-GRU model is better than GA-BP model in predicting NH 3 leakage. This provides the basis for developing DCU to reduce NH 3 leakage.

      • Clinical Application of Recombinant Human Endostatin in Postoperative Early Complementary Therapy on Patients with Non-small Cell Lung Cancer in Chinese Mainland

        Zhu, Qiang,Zang, Qi,Jiang, Zhong-Min,Wang, Wei,Cao, Ming,Su, Gong-Zhang,Zhen, Tian-Chang,Zhang, Xiao-Tian,Sun, Ning-Bo,Zhao, Cheng Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.9

Objective: To explore the clinical application of recombinant human endostatin (Endostar) in the treatment of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in Chinese mainland. Materials and Methods: A total of 75 patients diagnosed as NSCLC were randomly divided into control group (37 cases) and treatment group (38 cases). Control group was treated with postoperative complementary chemotherapy containing two-agent platinum protocol on postoperative d21, 3 weeks as a cycle, for totally 4~6 cycles. On this basis, treatment group was added with Endostar $7.5mg/m^2$ on postoperative d8~9, 3~4 h/time, qd, 14 weeks as a cycle, for totally 4 cycles. The interval between every two cycles was 7 d. The 5-year progression-free survival (PFS), 5-year survival time and complications in both groups were observed. Results: Compared with control group, the average PFS increased evidently in treatment group by 9.8 months (41.6 months vs. 31.8 months), and there was significant difference (P<0.05). And the median PFS was 42.5 months in treatment group, obviously longer than that in control group (33.7 months) by 8.8 months (P<0.05). Additionally, the 5-year overall survival rate (OS), average survival time and median survival time (MST) were 47.4%, 50.1 months and 59.3 months in treatment group, significantly higher than the 29.7%, 42.1 months and 43.5 months in control group (P<0.05). Only 1 patient showed poor healing of surgical wound in treatment group, but no surgery-associated complication was found in control group. Moreover, the postoperative complementary therapy-connected complication rates were 63.2% (24/38) and 59.5% (22/37) in treatment group and control group respectively, but there was no significant difference (P>0.05). Conclusions: The application of Endostar combined with sensitive platinum-contained chemotherapeutic agents in the postoperative complementary chemotherapy can be widely used in clinic because it can significantly prolong the long-term survival time of patients with NSCLC.

Developing a Dynamic Materialized View Index for Efficiently Discovering Usable Views for Progressive Queries

Zhu, Chao,Zhu, Qiang,Zuzarte, Calisto,Ma, Wenbin Korea Information Processing Society 2013 Journal of information processing systems Vol.9 No.4

Numerous data intensive applications demand the efficient processing of a new type of query, which is called a progressive query (PQ). A PQ consists of a set of unpredictable but inter-related step-queries (SQ) that are specified by its user in a sequence of steps. A conventional DBMS was not designed to efficiently process such PQs. In our earlier work, we introduced a materialized view based approach for efficiently processing PQs, where the focus was on selecting promising views for materialization. The problem of how to efficiently find usable views from the materialized set in order to answer the SQs for a PQ remains open. In this paper, we present a new index technique, called the Dynamic Materialized View Index (DMVI), to rapidly discover usable views for answering a given SQ. The structure of the proposed index is a special ordered tree where the SQ domain tables are used as search keys and some bitmaps are kept at the leaf nodes for refined filtering. A two-level priority rule is adopted to order domain tables in the tree, which facilitates the efficient maintenance of the tree by taking into account the dynamic characteristics of various types of materialized views for PQs. The bitmap encoding methods and the strategies/algorithms to construct, search, and maintain the DMVI are suggested. The extensive experimental results demonstrate that our index technique is quite promising in improving the performance of the materialized view based query processing approach for PQs.

      • Aberrant Expression of CCAT1 Regulated by c-Myc Predicts the Prognosis of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Zhu, Hua-Qiang,Zhou, Xu,Chang, Hong,Li, Hong-Guang,Liu, Fang-Feng,Ma, Chao-Qun,Lu, Jun Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.13

Background: CCAT1 has been reported to be linked with pathogenesis of malignancies including colon cancer and gastric cancer. However, the regulatory effect of CCAT1 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains unclear. The purpose of this research was to identify any role of CCAT1 in the progression of HCC. Materials and Methods: Real time-PCR was performed to test the relative expression of CCAT1 in HCC tissues. A computation screen of CCAT1 promoter was conducted to search for transcription-factor-binding sites. The association of c-Myc with CCAT1 promoter in vivo was tested by Pearson correlation analysis and chromatin immunoprecipitation assay. Additionally, Kaplan-Meier analysis and Cox proportional hazards analyses were performed. Results: c-Myc directly binds to the E-box element in the promoter region of CCAT, and when ectopically expressed increases promoter activity and expression of CCAT1. Moreover, Kaplan-Meier analysis demonstrated that the patients with low expression of CCAT1 demonstrated better overall and relapse-free survival compared with the high expression group. Cox proportional hazards analyses showed that CCAT1 expression was an independent prognostic factor for HCC patients. Conclusions: The findings demonstrated CCAT1, acting as a potential biomarker in predicting the prognosis of HCC, is regulated by c-Myc.

Nonlinear-Dynamic-Analysis Based Fuzzy PID Control Approach for Complex Hydraulic Driving Process

        Zheng-Qiang Zhu,Xin-Jiang Lu,Jie Lei,Ming-Hui Huang 한국정밀공학회 2018 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.19 No.7

The strong nonlinearity of the hydraulic driving process for forging makes it difficult to achieve accurate control. In this paper, we propose a nonlinear-dynamic-analysis based Fuzzy PID control approach for this complex process. Unlike the existing control methods that are designed specifically for a given work piece, this proposed control method can be effectively used in the forging of different work pieces. A model of the closed-loop forging system is first derived and a solving method is then developed in order to find the model solution. Using this model solution, the dynamics of the closed-loop forging system is further estimated and the conditions for stability, vibration, and creep, as well as the relationships between the controller parameters and the constraints are also derived. These derived dynamic characteristics, conditions and relationships for different work pieces are further integrated and used to design the controller. Through the use of experiments and simulations on a practical forging system, the effectiveness of all of these analytical results and the designed controller is finally demonstrated.

        MicroRNA-214-mediated UBC9 expression in glioma

( Zhi Qiang Zhao ),( Xiao Chao Tan ),( Ani Zhao ),( Li Yuan Zhu ),( Bin Yin ),( Jiang Ang Yuan ),( Bo Qin Qiang ),( Xiao Zhong Peng ) 생화학분자생물학회(구 한국생화학분자생물학회) 2012 BMB Reports Vol.45 No.11

It has been reported that ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme 9 (Ubc9), the unique enzyme2 in the sumoylation pathway, is up-regulated in many cancers. However, the expression and regulation of UBC9 in glioma remains unknown. In this study, we found that Ubc9 was up-regulated in glioma tissues and cell lines compared to a normal control. UBC9 knockdown by small interfering RNA (siRNA) affected cell proliferation and apoptosis in T98G cells. Further experiments revealed that microRNA (miR)-214 directly targeted the 3` untranslated region (UTR) of UBC9 and that there was an inverse relationship between the expression levels of miR-214 and UBC9 protein in glioma tissues and cells. MiR-214 overexpression suppressed the endogenous UBC9 protein and affected T98G cell proliferation. These findings suggest that miR-214 reduction facilitates UBC9 expression and is involved in the regulation of glioma cell proliferation.
