This paper reviews the progress in the VLBI (Very Long Baseline Interferometry) studies of Sgr A$\ast$, the best known supermassive black hole candidates with a dark mass concentration of $4 {\times} 10^6 M_{\bigodot}$ at the center of the Milky Way. The emphasis is on the importance of the millimeter and sub-millimeter VLBI observations in the detection of Sgr A$\ast$'s intrinsic structure and search for the structural variation.

This paper details a new method for improving the interfacial bonding between PA66 short fiber (PSF) and natural rubber (NR) by reaction of the methacrylic acid (MAA)-grafting-modified PSF with rubber during vulcanization. Carboncarbon double bonds introduced to the SF surface by MAA grafting were opened, and a vulcanization reaction occurred between the modified PSF and rubber in the presence of sulfur. The chemical reactions were verified by FTIR and XPS. The processing rheological behaviors of the compounded composites were investigated by a rubber processing analyzer (RPA). The morphology of modified PSF was characterized by AFM and SEM. The improved interfacial bonding was confirmed by DMA, which enhanced deformational stress at definite elongation of the NR/PSF composites. The volume concentration of the MAA solution for grafting on the SF surface had a great influence on the interfacial bonding and mechanical properties of the composites; when the volume concentration was 30 %, the modified PSF-reinforced NR/CB had the best interfacial bonding and mechanical properties.

The medium components of nitrilase production by Arthrobacter nitroguajacolicus ZJUTB06-99 were optimized in this study. Effects of factors such as carbon sources, nitrogen sources, and inducers on nitrilase production were investigated. Glucose, yeast extract, and ε-caprolactam were chosen as the suitable components. Moreover, experiments were carried out to fix the concentration of three factors for the zero coded level of variables in the subsequent optimization. Response surface methodology (RSM) and central composite design (CCD) were employed for further optimization. A quadratic model was found to fit the nitrilase activity and the variables. The results revealed that the optimized medium contained (%, w/v) 2.80, glucose; 0.57, yeast extract; and 0.42, ε-caprolactam. Validation experiments were carried out under the optimized conditions and nitrilase activity of 107.49 U/L was close to the predicted activity 110.82 U/L. After optimization, the nitrilase activity attained 2.86 fold of activity compared to the unoptimized conditions and the conversion of acrylonitrile was significantly improved. The strain growth curve and nitrilase activity alteration in the course of culture were tested. The cells were suitably harvested after cultured for 72~78 h The medium components of nitrilase production by Arthrobacter nitroguajacolicus ZJUTB06-99 were optimized in this study. The phase and microstructure evolution of ammonium polyphosphate/ aluminium hydroxide/ mica compounds (AAM) duringthermal reaction are investigated. At 300 oC, AAM residues exhibit porous structure due to gas evolution from the thermaldecomposition of ammonium polyphosphate (APP) and aluminium hydroxide, but mica does not react with them, and theflexural strength of specimens can reach 11.56 MPa. The thermal decomposition products of APP react with AlOOH toNH4AlP2O7, which can improve the flexural strength during 300 ~ 400 oC. The reactivity of mica is increased by eliminatinghydroxyl at temperature up to 600 oC, and the flexural strength of AAM residues is improved furtherly by the chemicallyinteractions between active mica and phosphates during 600 ~ 1000 oC. And specifically at 1000 oC, the AAM residues exhibitrelatively high flexural strength, which can reach 26.85 MPa and reactions between mica and KAlP2O7 could generateKAlSi3O8 and 3Al2O3·2SiO2. AAM with high flexural strength from low to high temperatures is expected to be a kind ofexcellent inorganic additive of ceramifiable polymer with wide temperature range for using.
MULTI-EPOCH MULTI-FREQUENCY VLBI STUDY OF THE PARSEC-SCALE JET IN THE BLAZAR 3C 66A
Zhao, Guang-Yao,Chen, Yong-Jun,Shen, Zhi-Qiang,Sudou, Hiroshi,Iguchi, Satoru American Institute of Physics 2015 The Astronomical journal Vol.149 No.2

We present observational results of the &ggr;-ray blazar 3C 66A at 2.3, 8.4, and 22 GHz at four epochs during 2004–2005 with the VLBA. The resulting images show an overall core-jet structure extending roughly to the south, with two intermediate breaks occurring in the region near the core. By model-fitting to the visibility data, the northmost component, which is also the brightest, is identified as the core according to its relatively flat spectrum and its compactness. Combining our results with previous results to investigate the proper motions of the jet components, we found the kinematics of 3C 66A to be quite complicated, with components of inward and outward, subluminal and superluminal motions all detected in the radio structure. The superluminal motions indicate strong Doppler boosting exists in the jet. The apparent inward motions of the innermost components last for at least 10 years and could not be caused by newborn components. A possible reason could be non-stationarity of the core due to opacity change.

Zhang, Pei-Pei,Zhou, Lei,Cao, Jia-Shi,Li, Yi-Ping,Zeng, Zhi,Sun, Ni,Shen, Li,Zhu, Hao-Yue,Ruan, Yang,Zha, Wen-Ting,Wang, Xin-Yu,Zhang, Ke-Qiang,Zhang, Ran Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2016 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.17 No.6
The present study was conducted to investigate the prevalence of HPV infection in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) in Hunan province. DNA samples were collected from paraffin embedded ovarian tissue from 322 patients with EOC, 99 with ovarian benign tumors and 199 normal persons. The polymerase chain reaction and direct sequencing were used to identify the HPV types in the samples. The relationship between the infection of human papillomavirus (HPV) and the epithelial ovarian carcinoma (EOC) was investigated combined with clinical data. The prevalence of HPV18 and HPV33 in EOC group and benign group was higher than in the normal group. HPV18 and HPV33 may play a role in the development of both EOC and ovarian benign tumor and may participate in the development of EOC with traditional risk factors, family history and abortion, possibly exerting synergistic effects.
