RBF Neural Networks-Based Robust Adaptive Tracking Control for Switched Uncertain Nonlinear Systems

        Lei Yu,Shumin Fei,Xun Li 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2012 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.10 No.2

In this paper, a robust adaptive H∞ control scheme is presented for a class of switched uncertain nonlinear systems. Radical basis function neural networks (RBF NNs) are employed to approximate unknown nonlinear functions and uncertain terms. A robust H∞ controller is designed to enhance robustness due to the existence of the compound disturbance which consists of approximation errors of the neural networks and external disturbance. Adaptive neural updated laws and switching signals are deducted from multiple Lyapunov function approach. It is proved that with the proposed control scheme, the resulting closed-loop switched system is robustly stable and uniformly ultimately bounded (UUB) such that good capabilities of tracking performance is attained and H∞ tracking error performance index is achieved. A practical example shows the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

Mixed-delay-dependent L2-L∞ Filtering for Neutral Stochastic Systems with Time-varying Delays

        Yaobo Yu,Xiaoling Tang,Tao Li,Shumin Fei 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2019 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.17 No.11

This paper studies the issue on mixed-delay-dependent L2-L∞ filter design for a class of neutral stochastic system with time-varying delays. By making full use of the information and interrelationship of time-delays, an augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF) is constructed for the filtering error system. In the derivation process, some Writinger-based integral inequalities and an extend reciprocal convex technique (ERCT) are utilized to estimate the lower bound of L2-L∞ disturbance attention level. Based on the derived stability criteria, two sufficient conditions on the existence of full-order L2-L∞ filter are presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs), which can be easily tested and less conservative. Finally, two cases in an example are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Raw Inonotus obliquus polysaccharide counteracts Alzheimer’s disease in a transgenic mouse model by activating the ubiquitin-proteosome system

        Wang Shumin,Dong Kaiye,Zhang Ji,Chen Chaochao,Shuai Hongyan,Yu Xin 한국영양학회 2023 Nutrition Research and Practice Vol.17 No.6

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Inonotus obliquus has been used as antidiabetic herb around the world, especially in the Russian and Scandinavian countries. Diabetes is widely believed to be a key factor in Alzheimer’s disease (AD), which is widely considered to be type III diabetes. To investigate whether I. obliquus can also ameliorate AD, it would be interesting to identify new clues for AD treatment. We tested the anti-AD effects of raw Inonotus obliquus polysaccharide (IOP) in a mouse model of AD (3×Tg-AD transgenic mice). MATERIALS/METHODS: SPF-grade 3×Tg-AD mice were randomly divided into three groups (Control, Metformin, and raw IOP groups, n = 5 per group). β-Amyloid deposition in the brain was analyzed using immunohistochemistry for AD characterization. Gene and protein expression of pertinent factors of the ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS) was determined using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting. RESULTS: Raw IOP significantly reduced the accumulation of amyloid aggregates and facilitated UPS activity, resulting in a significant reduction in AD-related symptoms in an AD mouse model. The presence of raw IOP significantly enhanced the expression of ubiquitin, E1, and Parkin (E3) at both the mRNA and protein levels in the mouse hippocampus. The mRNA level of ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase isozyme L1, a key factor involved in UPS activation, also increased by approximately 50%. CONCLUSIONS: Raw IOP could contribute to AD amelioration via the UPS pathway, which could be considered as a new potential strategy for AD treatment, although we could not exclude other mechanisms involved in counteracting AD processing.

Serum adipokines play different roles in type I and II ketosis

        Shen Liuhong,Zhu Yingkun,Xiao Jinbang,Qian Bolin,You Liuchao,Zhang Yue,Yu Shumin,Zong Xiaolan,Cao Suizhong 아세아·태평양축산학회 2020 Animal Bioscience Vol.33 No.12

Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the differences in several serum adipokines in perinatal dairy cows with type I and II ketosis, and the correlations between these adipokines and the two types of ketosis. Methods: Serum adiponectin (ADP), leptin (LEP), resistin, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels, and energy balance indicators related to ketosis were measured. Type I and II ketosis were distinguished by serum glucose (Glu) and Y values and the correlations between adipokines in the two types of ketosis were analyzed. Results: β-Hydroxybutyric acid of type I ketosis cows was significantly negatively correlated with insulin (INS) and LEP and had a significant positive correlation with serum ADP. In type II ketosis cows, ADP and LEP were significantly negatively correlated, and INS and resistin were significantly positively correlated. Revised quantitative INS sensitivity check index (RQUICKI) values had a significantly positive correlation with ADP and had a very significant and significant negative correlation with resistin, TNF-α, and IL-6. ADP was significantly negatively correlated with resistin and TNF-α, LEP had a significantly positive correlation with TNF-α, and a significantly positive correlation was shown among resistin, IL-6, and TNF-α. There was also a significant positive correlation between IL-6 and TNF-α. Conclusion: INS, ADP, and LEP might exert biological influences to help the body recover from negative energy balance, whereas resistin, TNF-α, and IL-6 in type II ketosis cows exacerbated INS resistance and inhibited the production and secretion of ADP, weakened INS sensitivity, and liver protection function, and aggravated ketosis.
