Dendrodoris guttata (Nudibranchia: Dendrodorididae) from Korean Waters

The genus Dendrodoris Ehrenberg, 1831 includes about 46 valid species worldwide, and is found in relatively shallow waters in the Indo-Pacific, Atlantic, and Australian regions. To date, five Dendrodoris species have been reported from Korea. In this study, we report D. guttata (Odhner, 1917) collected from Jeju Island. Morphology is distinguished from other Dendrodoris species by the shape of the black spots on the dorsal mantle and coloration of the gills. We determined mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase I (cox1) partial sequences and combined them with publically available sequences of closely related congeneric species to examine its phylogenetic position among Dendrodoris species.
Leptoplax doederleini (Polyplacophora: Acanthochitonidae) from South Korea

Acanthochitonidae Pilsbry, 1893 is one of the chiton families characterized by 9 pairs of sutural tufts on a well-expanded girdle that overgrows plates. It is found in intertidal and subtidal zones worldwide. Of its eight genera, only two have been previously reported in South Korea: Acanthochitona Gray, 1821 and Notoplax H. Adams, 1862. Here we report Leptoplax doederleini (Thiele, 1909) as the first record of the genus Leptoplax in South Korea and describe and compare its morphological features with N. kaasi Hong, Dell'Angelo and Van Belle, 1990. In addition, we provide the partial sequence of the mitochondrial DNA cytochrome c oxidase subunit I gene as a DNA barcode sequence record.

현대사회에서는 매년 많은 옷들이 버려지며 환경 오염 문제가 발생하고 있다. 리폼은 이러한 문제를 줄이는데에 효과적이다. 이를 위해 의류 리폼 중개 서비스 플랫폼인 리포미(Reforme)를 제안한다. 리포미(Reforme)는 생성형 AI를 제공하여 유저가 원하는 디자인의 의류 이미지를 제공받고 게시글을 작성해 디자이너에게 리폼을 요청함으로써 사용자와 디자이너를 이어준다. 이를 통해 리포미(Reforme)는 사용자와 디자이너 모두에게 편리함을 제공하여 리폼을 활성화하고 환경 오염 문제를 줄이는데 이바지할 수 있다. Every year inmodern society, a vast number of clothes are discarded, leading to environmental pollution. Clothing reform is an effective way to address this issue. To facilitate this, I propose Reforme, a clothing reform brokerage service platform. Reforme uses generative AI to provide users with images of the clothing designs they desire, enabling them to post these images and request designers for reforms. This connection between users and designers not only simplifies the process but also encourages clothing reform, contributing to the reduction of environmental pollution.
First Record of Deshayesiella curvata (Polyplacophora: Protochitonidae) from Korea

Protochitonidae Ashby, 1925 is a family of small to medium sized chitons that includes a single fossil genus and two extant genera. Of the two extant genera, Deshayesiella Carpenter in Dall, 1879 contains 5 described species. Although most Deshayesiella species are known to be found in deep sea habitats (over 100 m), D. curvata (Carpenter in Pilsbry, 1892) is found from shallow waters (1-20 m). In this study, we provide details of microstructure of shell and radula characters using scanning electron microscopy and morphological features of D. curvata, and its partial sequence of mitochondrial DNA cox1 gene as DNA barcode sequence. In addition, we compare morphological differences of D. curvata from other congeneric species.
First Record of Callochiton foveolatus (Polyplacophora: Callochitonidae) from Korea

The genus Callochiton Gray, 1847 is small to medium sized chiton (up to 55×36 mm in size) and includes approximately 30 species worldwide, most of which are found on hard substrata in subtidal zone. To date, only three species of Callochiton Gray, 1847 have been reported in Japan. In this study, we found C. foveolatus (Is. Taki, 1938) as first record of the family Callochitonidae Plate, 1901 in Korea and its morphological features were described and compared with other northwestern Pacific species. In addition, the partial fragment of mitochondrial DNA cytochrome c oxidase subunit I sequences of C. foveolatus was determined as DNA barcoding record and compared with other congeneric species.
