Multi-Focus Image Fusion Based on Sparse Decomposition

In order to effectively improve fusion quality, a novel multi-focus image fusion approach with sparse decomposition is proposed. The source images are decomposed into principal and sparse components by robust principal component analysis (RPCA) decomposition. A sliding window technique is applied to inhibiting blocking artifacts. The focused pixels of the source images are detected by using the salient features within the sliding window and integrated to construct the final fused image. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme can significantly inhibit the blocking artifacts compared to the other existing fusion methods in terms of some visual and objective evaluations.
Multi-focus Image Fusion with Cartoon-Texture Image Decomposition

Multi-focus image fusion can fuse multiple source images with different focus settings into a single image that appears sharper. How to effectively and completely represent the source images is the key to multi-focus image fusion. A multi-component fusion method is proposed for multi-focus image fusion. The registered source images are decomposed into cartoon and texture components by cartoon-texture image decomposition. The salient features are selected from the cartoon and texture components respectively to form a composite feature space. The local features that represent the salient information of the source images are integrated to construct the fused image. According to the visual perception and objective evaluations on the fused images, the proposed method works better in extracting the focused regions and improving the fusion quality, compared with the other existing single-component fusion methods.
FAFS: A Fuzzy Association Feature Selection Method for Network Malicious Traffic Detection

Analyzing network traffic is the basis of dealing with network security issues. Most of the network security systems depend on the feature selection of network traffic data and the de-tection ability of malicious traffic in network can be improved by the correct method of feature selection. An FAFS method, which is short for Fuzzy Association Feature Selection method, is proposed in this paper for network malicious traffic detection. Association rules, which can reflect the relationship among different characteristic attributes of network traffic data, are mined by association analysis. The membership value of association rules are obtained by the calculation of fuzzy reasoning. The data features with the highest correlation intensity in network data sets are calculated by comparing the membership values in association rules. The dimension of data features are reduced and the detection ability of malicious traffic detection algorithm in network is improved by FAFS method. To verify the effect of malicious traffic feature selection by FAFS method, FAFS method is used to select data features of different dataset in this paper. Then, K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm, C4.5 Decision Tree algorithm and Naïve Bayes algorithm are used to test on the dataset above. Moreover, FAFS method is also compared with classical feature selection methods. The analysis of experimental results show that the precision and recall rate of malicious traffic detection in the network can be signifi-cantly improved by FAFS method, which provides a valuable reference for the establishment of network security system.

Objective: The Tubridge flow diverter (FD) is a novel device aimed at reconstructing the parent artery and occluding complex aneurysms. Retreatment of recurrent aneurysms using the FD is challenging. We report our initial experience in the repair of aneurysm recurrence with the FD. Materials and Methods: A database was reviewed prospectively, and 8 patients with 8 recurrent aneurysms (mean size, 16.7 mm) were identified. Four aneurysms had previously ruptured. The previous aneurysm treatment consisted of coiling in 1 aneurysm and single-stent-assisted coiling in 7 aneurysms. The procedural complications and clinical and angiographic outcomes were analyzed. Results: Six aneurysms were treated by using a single Tubridge FD alone, while the remaining 2 were treated with FD + coiling. The immediate results of the 8 aneurysms were that they all showed incomplete occlusion. Neither major ischemic nor hemorrhagic complications occurred; however, 1 patient experienced a vasospasm. Follow-up angiographies were available for 7 aneurysms; the mean follow-up was 16.9 months (7–36 months). Five aneurysms were completely occluded, whereas 2 had a residual neck. Severe asymptomatic stenosis of 1 parent artery of a vertebral artery dissecting aneurysm was found. All visible branches covered by the FD were patent. All patients were clinically assessed as having attained a favorable outcome (modified Rankin Scale score ≤ 2) at discharge and follow-up. Conclusion: In selected patients, the Tubridge FD can provide a safe and efficient option for the retreatment of recurrent aneurysms. Nevertheless, attention should be paid to several technical points.
Research on the Surface Defect Detection of Magnetic Sheet for Industrial Manufacture

The research of defect detection technology of magnetic sheet surface has important significance for improvement of production efficiency and product quality in enterprise. A single threshold method is used for binary segmentation of magnetic sheet image in this paper, then the template localization algorithm is used for template position of magnetic sheet image after binary segmentation, the magnetic sheet image with different position should be transformed into a unified coordinate system for detecting, then least square method is used for fitting straight line and fillet edge, then the calculated values are compared with standard value to determine whether are knock edges. Further, the appropriate grayscale threshold is set by the pitting and scratches characteristics of magnetic sheet image, the magnetic sheet image should be segmented according to the determined threshold value, if the defect exists, the defect area or length will be calculated, then the result is compared with standard values to determine whether is pitting or scratches. The final tests of technology in this paper show that the detection rate of knock edge and the detection rate of pitting or scratches are both acceptable.
Error-immune Algorithm for Absolute Testing of Rotationally Asymmetric Surface Deviation

Based on Zernike polynomial fitting, we propose an algorithm believed to be new for interferometric measurements of rotationally asymmetric surface deviation of optics. This method tests and calculates each angular surface by choosing specified rotation angles with lowest error. The entire figure can be obtained by superimposing these sub-surfaces. Simulation and experiment studies for verifying the proposed algorithm are presented. The results show that the accuracy of the proposed method is higher than single-rotation algorithm and almost comparable to the rotation-averaging algorithm with fewer rotation measurements. The new algorithm can achieve a balance between the efficiency and accuracy.
Research on the Method for Periodic Estimation of the PN Sequence in the Lower SNR DS/SS Signals

The periodic estimation method of the PN sequence in DS Signal is researched. It is hard for traditional methods to estimate PN period of DS/SS accurately in the condition of low Signal-to-noise ratio. On the basis of the traditional spectrum reprocessing and the cepstrum method, a PN period estimation method which has integrated serial average with spectrum reprocessing and the cepstrum are put forward to solve this problem and meet the requirements of lower Signal-to-noise ratio. The simulation results show that, when the period of PN sequence is estimated accurately, the cepstrum method has better estimating performance than the spectrum reprocessing method, and the spectral estimation method has lower Signal-to-noise ratio tolerance after improvements.

The laser has been regarded as the potential illumination source for the next generation of projectors. However, currently the major issues in applying the laser as an illumination source for projectors are beam shaping and laser speckle. We present a compact solution for both issues by using a vibrating diffractive optical element (DOE). The DOE is designed and fabricated, and it successfully transforms the circular Gaussian laser beam to a low speckle contrast uniform rectangular pattern. Under a vibration frequency of 150 Hz and amplitude of $200{\mu}m$, the speckle contrast value is reduced from 67.67% to 13.78%, and the ANSI uniformity is improved from 24.36% to 85.54%. The experimental results demonstrate the feasibility and potential of the proposed scheme, and the proposed method is a feasible approach to the miniaturization of laser projection display illumination systems.
