        Missed Skeletal Trauma Detected by Whole Body Bone Scan in Patients with Traumatic Brain Injury

        Objective : Unclear mental state is one of the major factors contributing to diagnostic failure of occult skeletal trauma in patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI). The aim of this study was to evaluate the overlooked co-occurring skeletal trauma through whole body bone scan (WBBS) in TBI. Methods : A retrospective study of 547 TBI patients admitted between 2015 and 2017 was performed to investigate their cooccurring skeletal injuries detected by WBBS. The patients were divided into three groups based on the timing of suspecting skeletal trauma confirmed : 1) before WBBS (pre-WBBS); 2) after the routine WBBS (post-WBBS) with good mental state and no initial musculoskeletal complaints; and 3) after the routine WBBS with poor mental state (poor MS). The skeletal trauma detected by WBBS was classified into six skeletal categories : spine, upper and lower extremities, pelvis, chest wall, and clavicles. The skeletal injuries identified by WBBS were confirmed to be simple contusion or fractures by other imaging modalities such as X-ray or computed tomography (CT) scans. Of the six categorizations of skeletal trauma detected as hot uptake lesions in WBBS, the lesions of spine, upper and lower extremities were further statistically analyzed to calculate the incidence rates of actual fractures (AF) and actual surgery (AS) cases over the total number of hot uptake lesions in WBBS. Results : Of 547 patients with TBI, 112 patients (20.4 %) were presented with TBI alone. Four hundred and thirty-five patients with TBI had co-occurring skeletal injuries confirmed by WBBS. The incidences were as follows : chest wall (27.4%), spine (22.9%), lower extremities (20.2%), upper extremities (13.5%), pelvis (9.4%), and clavicles (6.3%). It is notable that relatively larger number of positive hot uptakes were observed in the groups of post-WBBS and poor MS. The percentage of post-WBBS group over the total hot uptake lesions in upper and lower extremities, and spines were 51.0%, 43.8%, and 41.7%, respectively, while their percentages of AS were 2.73%, 1.1%, and 0%, respectively. The percentages of poor MS group in the upper and lower extremities, and spines were 10.4%, 17.4%, and 7.8%, respectively, while their percentages of AS were 26.7%, 14.2%, and 11.1%, respectively. There was a statistical difference in the percentage of AS between the groups of post-WBBS and poor MS (p=0.000). Conclusion : WBBS is a potential diagnostic tool in understanding the skeletal conditions of patients with head injuries which may be undetected during the initial assessment.

        승마 로봇 시뮬레이터 HRB-1을 위한 말의 보행 및 부조의 구현

        Horse riding is widely recognized as a valuable form of education, exercise and therapy. But, the injuries observed in horse riding range from very minor injuries to fatalities. In order to reduce these injuries, the effective horseback riding simulator is required. In this paper, we proposed the implementation method of horse gait and riding aids for horseback riding robot simulator HRB-1. For implementation of horse gait to robot simulator, we gathered and modified real motion data of horse. We obtained two main frequencies of each gait by frequency analysis, and then simple sinusoidal functions are acquired by genetic algorithm. In addition, we developed riding aids system including hands, leg, and seat aids. With the help of a developed robotic system, beginners can learn the skill of real horse riding without the risk of injury.

        Robotic gait rehabilitation devices enable efficient and convenient gait rehabilitation by mimicking the functions of physical theraphists. In manual gait rehabilitation training, physical theraphists have patients practice and memorize normal gait patterns by applying assistive torque to the patient’s joint once the patient’s gait deviates from the normal gait. Thus, one of the most important factors in robotic gait rehabilitation devices is to determine the assistive torque to the patient’s joint during rehabilitation training. In order to calculate the assistive torque, the desired gait trajectory for affected leg should be determined. This reference trajectory is obtained from his healthy leg. The obtained signal has many noisy factors. Therefore, after conditioning the signal, the suitable pattern is applied to the developed system. This procedure is called ”gait pattern generation” in this paper. It is described and discussed in detail.

        중소기업의 ERP 시스템 도입효과 분석

        본 연구에서는 글로벌 무한 경쟁시대에 중소기업 경쟁력강화의 핵심수단으로 활용되고 있는 중소기업의 ERP 시스템 도입효과에 대해 분석하고자 한다. 즉, 본 연구에서는 중소기업의 ERP 시스템 도입효과에 대한 실증분석을 수행하기 이전에, 기존의 ERP 시스템의 도입 및 운영에 대한 선행연구들을 바탕으로 ERP 시스템의 도입과 운영에 관한 인과관계 분석을 수행하였다. 이를 통하여 국내 중소기업의 ERP 도입 및 운영에 따른 긍정적인 효과와 부정적인 효과를 이론적으로 살펴보고, 이와 같은 각 인과변수들 간의 순환적인 인과관계를 파악하여 인과지도를 작성하였다. 또한 이와 같은 인과지도를 기반으로 중소기업 정보화혁신전문기업(TIMPs) 지원을 받아 ERP 시스템을 구축한 중소기업과 제반 여건이 비슷한 ERP 시스템을 미도입한 기업 간의 재무성과의 차이를 살펴봄으로써, 인과구조 상의 자기강화 루프와 자기균형 루프들 간의 상충적인 관계를 살펴본다. 이를 통해 중소기업의 효율적 ERP 운영을 위한 정책적 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 중소기업 정보화 지원을 받아 ERP 시스템을 구축한 중소기업과 비교기업 간 재무성과 차이 분석의 결과를 살펴보면, 활동성의 경우에만 ERP 도입 후 2년차부터 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였으나 수익성, 안정성, 성장성, 생산성 세부지표들은 대부분이 ERP 시스템 도입기업과 미도입기업 간에 통계적으로 유의하지 차이를 보이지 않았다. 그러나 이러한 결과가 정부의 중소기업 정보화 지원 사업이 효과가 없다거나 불필요하다는 것을 의미하는 것은 아니며, ERP 시스템 도입 후, 사후단계의 정보 시스템 유지보수 및 효율적 사후운영 관리가 더욱 필요함을 역설적으로 보여주고 있다. 또한 본 연구에서 살펴본 정량적 지표 이외에 기본의 연구들에서 살펴 본 정성적 효과까지 고려한다면, 중소기업의 ERP 시스템에 대한 투자는 중소기업의 효율적인 운영을 위한 정책적 대안이 될 것으로 판단된다. The objectives of this research was to investigate the impact of ERP system on firm's financial performance. Upon the conflicting results of previous a few studies on ERP's impact on firm performance, this study tries to make the financial comparison between ERP-adopted and ERPnot-adopted firms among major Korean SMEs through a matched sample comparison group methodology and publicly available financial data. The Korean SMEs (supported by The Small & Medium Business Administration: TIMPs) have been heavily investing in ERP in recent years and expect that ERP can help them gain superior financial performance. Given the high costs and high risk of ERP investments, to quantify the financial benefits of ERP implementation is an important research issue. This paper empirically examines the impacts of ERP implementation on firm performance using the financial data from 30 Korean SMEs that implemented ERP. As a result, the ERP implementation does not reveal significant performance improvement during the implementation period and the three-year post-implementation period and even a decline in performance during the first two years after implementation. However, a slight performance improvement in the third year after implementation may indicate that the financial benefits of ERP may show after a long period of ERP use. These results can provide a valuable insight for Korean SMEs that want to invest in ERP. The contribution of this research shows how these critical success factors(CSF) were nterrelated and influenced each other directly or indirectly for performance improvement using a causal loop diagram model.

        Disturbance vibration reduction is critical in many applications using machine vision. The off-focusing or blurring error caused by vibration degrades its performance. Instead of going with the more familiar approach like vibration absorber, a real-time disturbance estimation and avoidance is proposed. Instantaneous motion due to the disturbance is sensed by an attitude heading reference system (AHRS) module. Modeling of periodic vibration is done to provide better performance. According to its modeling, the algorithm for vibration avoidance was described.

        최적의 타공판을 통한 열풍건조로 성능향상 연구

        염료감응형 태양전지용 플렉시블 필름에 도포된 코팅물질의 균질한 코팅은 제품의 성능과 내구성과 매우 밀접한 관계가 있고, 균질한 코팅은 열풍건조로 노즐에서의 균일한 온도분포와 질량유량에 의해 얻어질 수 있다. 본 연구에서 열풍건조로의 성능향상에 영향을 주는 다양한 인자들에 대한 수치해석을 수행함으로써 열풍건조로 출구의 균일한 온도분포와 질량유량을 얻고자 하였다. 수치해석 모델은 유동방정식과 에너지방정식으로 구성되었고, 수치해석을 모델의 검증을 위해 수치해석 결과값과 실험결과를 비교하였다. 연구결과로서 열풍건조로의 타공판이 균일한 온도분포 및 질량유량에 큰 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있었다. The homogeneous coating of a flexible film that is applied to dye-sensitized solar cells is related to the performance and durability of the product. The applied coating is obtained from the uniform temperature distribution and the mass flow rate in the nozzle of the hot air dryer. In this study, we determine the uniform temperature distribution and mass flow rate of each nozzle by performing numerical simulations to understand how various factors affect the performance of the hot air dryer. The numerical model is composed of the momentum equation for flow motion and the energy equation for temperature. In addition, we compare the numerical results to the experimental results to validate the model. Based on the results, the round-hole plate inside the hot air dryer significantly affects the uniform temperature and the mass flow rate.
