Aim(s): To examine the factors related to high expressed emotion in family members of people with dementia. Method(s): A cross-sectional research design was used. Interviews and questionnaires were employed, and the key family members of people with dementia were the participants. The first survey was administered to 24 individuals. Data collected include demographic details, the Family Attitude Scale (FAS), which assesses expressed emotion, and measures of caregiving burden and depression in family members. This study was approved by the Institutional Review Board of the institution we are affiliated with. And it was also supported by Nissei Foundation. Result(s): We show the preliminary results in this abstract although the number of participants is still increasing. Currently, 24 family members (8 male, 17 female) have participated in this study. The preliminary results indicate that nine had FAS scores above 40, which is the threshold for high Expressed Emotion (EE) in family members caring for persons with dementia, of potentially demented individuals. The nine participants with high EE were female, 66.7% were children of patient with dementia, 55.6% had depressive tendencies, 22.2% were identified as depressed, and 77.8% had a moderate to severe sense of burden. Conclusion(s): Factors influencing the high EE of family members of people with dementia could be related to their role in the family and their mental state. Early identification of risk factors might help in identifying and developing relevant interventions to prevent high EE in caregivers. The validity of this hypothesis will be further tested.
MEGH: A New Affine Invariant Descriptor

An affine invariant descriptor is proposed, which is able to well represent the affine covariant regions. Estimating main orientation is still problematic in many existing method, such as SIFT (scale invariant feature transform) and SURF (speeded up robust features). Instead of aligning the estimated main orientation, in this paper ellipse orientation is directly used. According to ellipse orientation, affine covariant regions are firstly divided into 4 sub-regions with equal angles. Since affine covariant regions are divided from the ellipse orientation, the divided sub-regions are rotation invariant regardless the rotation, if any, of ellipse. Meanwhile, the affine covariant regions are normalized into a circular region. In the end, the gradients of pixels in the circular region are calculated and the partition-based descriptor is created by using the gradients. Compared with the existing descriptors including MROGH, SIFT, GLOH, PCA-SIFT and spin images, the proposed descriptor demonstrates superior performance according to extensive experiments.
A Distance Approach for Open Information Extraction Based on Word Vector

Web-scale open information extraction (Open IE) plays an important role in NLP tasks like acquiring common-sense knowledge, learning selectional preferences and automatic text understanding. A large number of Open IE approaches have been proposed in the last decade, and the majority of these approaches are based on supervised learning or dependency parsing. In this paper, we present a novel method for web scale open information extraction, which employs cosine distance based on Google word vector as the confidence score of the extraction. The proposed method is a purely unsupervised learning algorithm without requiring any hand-labeled training data or dependency parse features. We also present the mathematically rigorous proof for the new method with Bayes Inference and Artificial Neural Network theory. It turns out that the proposed algorithm is equivalent to Maximum Likelihood Estimation of the joint probability distribution over the elements of the candidate extraction. The proof itself also theoretically suggests a typical usage of word vector for other NLP tasks. Experiments show that the distance-based method leads to further improvements over the newly presented Open IE systems on three benchmark datasets, in terms of effectiveness and efficiency.
A Novel Double Layer Cantilevers Harvester for Vibration Energy

This paper reported a double layer cantilever harvester powered for vibration energy. A space layer between the PZT beam and the support silicon beam is existed, leading to the double layer cantilever structure. Such structure can allow the more strain generated by the piezoelectric layer due to the existing of space layer, and the output voltage is further increased. The formula of output voltage is then derived from the piezoelectric effect equation and vibration model. And the formula verifies the relationship of voltage and structure parameter. And the simulation in micrometer lever is used to discuss the relationship. Finally, the prototype is assembled and measured to verify the feature of the device. Experimentally, the 3.8V output voltage and 16.9uW output power is acquired.
Conceptual design and analysis of remote steering system for CFETR ECRH system

In order to optimize the operational safety and reliability of the upper launcher for the CFETR ECRH system, a design of the launcher based on the remote steering concept is currently being carried out for comparison with the front steering equivalent. This paper presents the remote steering system's conceptual design and simulation analysis. A Square Corrugated Waveguide (SCW) of 65 × 65 mm has been designed with an optimized length of 9.35 m. By changing the relative length of the waveguide, the transmission efficiency of the SCW is optimized within the range of steering angles ±12°. Different error factors are investigated in detail, and corresponding acceptable error ranges are provided. Considering these error factors and ignoring ohmic losses and thermal effects, the relative transmission efficiency of the SCW is estimated to be >98 % within the steering angle range. A matching steering unit for the SCW is designed, which consists of an ellipsoidal focusing mirror and a steerable flat mirror. The detailed design of the steerable mirror motion trajectory is presented. Also, the influence of the possible beam incident errors caused by the steering unit on the transmission efficiency is analyzed in detail.
