      • A NEW WAY TO DEVELOP THE TRIBAL REGIONS

        Today, expanding the means of communication and transportation, tourism is considered as one of the important and fundamental industries in economy and culture. This industry is very important by two aspects: Firstly, it takes steps making familiar of nations with other cultures, tribes, people, territories and dialects, and etc. Secondly, economically, it is one of the resources of income and hard currency. According to the authorities, Iran is one of the top ten countries in the world from the viewpoints of historic, cultural, natural and anthropological attractions. This great resource, having numerous potential possibilities, has provided an appropriate bed for planners to develop tourism in different places of fran. In the meantime, the realms of migration and inhabitation of the Iranian tribes, from the viewpoint of different attractions, especially variety natural and cultural situations, meet very suitable circumstances to develop the domestic tourism. On the basis of the social census of the migrating tribes in 1998-99, the Iranian tribal society has consisted of 102 clans and independent 592 tribes. This society includes a population about 1,300,000 people. The Iranian tribal society has various attractions to admit and attract tourists and expansion the tourism. It can be pointed out to the variety of languages and dialects, different shapes of migration, various types of shelters, variety customs, beauty clothes, handicrafts and etc as tourism attractions of tribal regions. The research methodology of this article has been based on conducting library studies, interview with well-informed people such as directors of tour and travel agencies and well-experienced experts, in addition to appearance repeatedly and observance of the author in tribal regions. In the present article, in addition to focus on tourism issues in Iran and describing the features of the Iranian tribal regions, the tourism challenges and outlooks in the tribal regions are also paid into attention. At the end, some necessary proposals for utilization by the managers, planners, ex pelts and university students are produced.

      • Sustainable Urban Transport Management & Its Strategies

        Rapid process of urbanism development has increased the demand for some infrastructures such as supplying potable water, electricity network and transportation facilities and etc. Non-efficiency of the existing system with parallel managements of urban traffic management has increased the gap between supply and demand of traffic facilities. A sustainable transport system requires some activities more important than air pollution control, traffic or fuel consumption reduction and the studies show that there is no unique solution for solving complicated transportation problems and solving such a problem needs a comprehensive, dynamic and reliable mechanism. Sustainable transport management considers the effects of transportation development on economic efficiency, environmental issues, resources consumption, land use and social justice and helps reduction of environmental effects, increase of transportation system efficiency as well as improvement of social life and aims to enhance efficiency, goods transportation, provide services with minimum access problems that cannot be realized without reorganization of strategies, policies and plans.

      • Exploiting Unused Spare Columns and Replaced Columns to Enhance Memory ECC

        <P>Due to the emergence of extremely high density memory along with the growing number of embedded memories, memory yield is an important issue. Memory self-repair using redundancies to increase the yield of memories is widely used. Because high density memories are vulnerable to soft errors, memory error correction code (ECC) plays an important role in memory design. In this paper, methods to exploit spare columns including replaced defective columns are proposed to improve memory ECC. To utilize replaced defective columns, the defect information needs to be stored. Two approaches to store defect information are proposed-one is to use a spare column and the other is to use a content-addressable-memory. Experimental results show that the proposed method can significantly enhance the ECC performance.</P>

      • Enhancing Test Compression With Dependency Analysis for Multiple Expansion Ratios

        <P>Scan test data compression is widely used in industry to reduce test data volume (TDV) and test application time (TAT). This paper shows how multiple scan chain expansion ratios can help to obtain high test data compression in system-on-chips. Scan chains are partitioned with a higher expansion ratio than normal in scan compression mode and then are gradually con-catenated based on a cost function to detect any faults that could not be detected at the higher expansion ratios. It improves the overall test compression ratio since it potentially allows faults to be detected at the highest expansion ratio. This paper introduces a new cost function to choose scan chain concatenation candidates for concatenation for multiple expansion ratios. To avoid TDV and TAT increase by scan concatenation, the proposed method takes a logic structure and scan chain length into consideration. Experiment results show the proposed method reduces TAT and TDV by 53%-64% compared with a traditional scan compression method.</P>

        Test Point Insertion with Control Point by Greater Use of Existing Functional Flip-Flops

        This paper presents a novel test point insertion (TPI)method for a pseudo-random built-in self-test (BIST) toreduce the area overhead. Recently, a new TPI method forBISTs was proposed that tries to use functional flip-flopsto drive control test points instead of adding extradedicated flip-flops for driving control points. Thereplacement rule used in a previous work has limitationspreventing some dedicated flip-flops from being replacedby functional flip-flops. This paper proposes a logic coneanalysis–based TPI approach to overcome the limitations. Logic cone analysis is performed to find candidatefunctional flop-flops for replacing dedicated flip-flops. Experimental results indicate that the proposed methodreduces the test point area overhead significantly withminimal loss of testability by replacing the dedicated flipflops.

        NEW ORBITAL PARAMETERS AND RADIAL VELOCITY CURVE ANALYSIS OF SPECTROSCOPIC BINARY STARS

        We use a Probabilistic Neural Network (PNN) technique to derive the orbital parameters of spectroscopic binary stars. Using measured radial velocity data of five double-lined spectroscopic binary systems (i.e., EQ Tau, V376 And, V776 Cas, V2377 Oph and EE Cet), we find the corresponding orbital and spectroscopic elements. Our numerical results are in good agreement with those obtained by other groups via more traditional methods.

        Catalytic dehydration of methanol to dimethyl ether (DME) over Al-HMS catalysts

        A series of Al-HMS with different Si/Al ratio was used as a solid acid catalyst for methanol dehydration todimethyl ether (DME). The effect of temperature, feed composition, space velocity, and the catalyst Si/Alratio on the catalytic dehydration of methanol was investigated. By decreasing Si/Al, the temperaturerequired to reach equilibrium conversion of methanol decreased due to the increased number of acidicsites. Compared to commercial γ-Al2O3, Al-HMS-5 and Al-HMS-10, catalysts exhibited a high yield ofDME. Among all Al-HMS catalysts, Al-HMS-10 exhibited an optimum yield of 89% with 100% selectivityand excellent stability for methanol dehydration to DME.

        A selective catalyst for methanol conversion into light olefin with a high propylene to ethylene ratio

        MSU-S catalyst, assembled from ZSM-5 zeolite seed (MFI), was synthesized with silica to alumina ratio 55 and characterized by XRD, NH3-TPD, BET and FT-IR techniques. It was tested in a vertical fixed bed reactor for selective production of light olefins from methanol (MTO) at temperatures of 400, 450 and 500 oC and WHSV of 1, 5 and 25 h−1. After thorough investigation, it was found that WHSV=5 h−1 and temperature of 500 oC are the optimum conditions for maximum light olefin yield, which was 52% with propylene to ethylene ratio of 4.57. Acidity of MSU-S was promoted by incorporation of phosphotungusticacid (HPW) and a direct method to reach high HPW dispersion and thermal stability. Maximum light olefin yield was observed over HPW-MSU-S at the optimum reaction conditions to be nearly 60% with propylene to ethylene ratio of 4.3.
