In this paper, discontinuous interconnect lines are modeled as a cascaded line composed of many uniform interconnect lines. The system functions of respective uniform interconnect lines are determined, followed by its time domain response. Since the time domain response expression is a transcendental form, the waveform expression is reconfigured as an approximated linear expression. The proposed model has less than 2% error in the delay estimation.

<P>Susceptible dogs were brought into contact with dogs experimentally infected with an avian-origin influenza A virus (H3N2) that had been isolated from a pet dog with severe respiratory syndrome. All the experimentally infected and contact-exposed dogs showed elevated rectal temperatures, virus shedding, seroconversion, and severe necrotizing tracheobronchitis and bronchioalveolitis.</P>

A study on the boundary of linear viscoelasticity in simple shear flows: model calculations

Linear viscoelastic region is important to investigate material properties. We investigated boundary of linear viscoelasticity for simple shear flows with various time functions of shear strain. We used Phan-Thien and Tanner (PTT) model and Giesekus model in order to extract the linearity criterion. We determined critical strain (gc) as a function of dimensionless number such as De or Wi and the nonlinear parameter of the models. We found a superposition of the critical strain at start-up shear flow and oscillatory shear flow. Replacing relaxation time by mean relaxation time , we checked the validity of the equation with experimental data.
HSDPA에서 DCH를 사용하는 Soft Handover 방법에 관한 연구

High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA)에서는 Hard Handover방법을 사용한다. Dedicated Channel (DCH)는 HSDPA보다 전송속도는 느리지만 2G에서 사용하는 Soft Handover를 위한 핵심 기술이라 할 수 있다. DCH와 High Speed-Downlink Channel (HS-DSCH)는 동시에 사용되어질 수 있는데, 3G 시스템은 2G 구조를 재사용하여 추가적으로 기능을 업그레이드 시켰기 때문이다. 따라서 2G 에서 사용되는 DCH와 DSCH는 그대로 사용 가능하며, DSCH의 업그레이드 버전인 HS-DSCH 역시 동시에 사용이 가능하다. 그러므로 이 논문에서는 HSDPA에서 DCH를 사용하는 Soft Handoverv 기법을 제안하고, throughput과 power utilization 측면에서 효율성을 알아보기로 한다.

Recently, virtualization has become an essential component of cloud computing due to its various strengths, including maximizing server resource utilization, easy-to-maintain software, and enhanced data protection. However, since virtualization allows sharing physical resources among the VMs, the system performance can be deteriorated due to device contentions. In this paper, we first investigate the I/O overhead based on the number of VMs on the same server platform and analyze the block I/O process of the KVM hypervisor. We also propose an in-memory block cache mechanism, called QBic, to overcome I/O virtualization latency. QBic is capable of monitoring the block I/O process of the hypervisor and stores the data with a high access frequency in the cache. As a result, QBic provides a fast response for VMs and reduces the I/O contention to physical devices. Finally, we present a performance measurement of QBic to verify its effectiveness.
BMP(Biochemical Methane Potential) test를 통한 도심하천 퇴적물의 최종메탄발생수율 및 생분해도 산정

본 연구는 부산시에 위치한 하천퇴적물에 대한 현재의 오염상태와 혐기성 상태에서의 잠재메탄발생량을 평가하기 위해 실시하였다. 먼저 부산시 하천중 총 5곳을 선정하였고 대상하천의 퇴적물을 채집하였다. 그리고 퇴적물특성을 알아보기 위해 퇴적물의 화학적산소요구량, 강열감량, 총 유기탄소에 대해서 분석을 실시하였고 그 결과 각각 15.20∼75.07㎎ g<SUP>-1</SUP>, 2.34∼11.54%, 1.28∼34.21%로 나타났다. 또한 실험실규모의 BMP Test를 실시하였고 그 결과 pH가 약간 증가하다가 약 7.11∼7.35에서 평형을 이루었으며, C/N, 최종메탄 및 이산화탄소수율 그리고 생분해도는 각각 1.05∼10.27, 10.1∼179.4, 10.3∼34.4, 4.0∼30.1을 나타내었다. 그리고 최종메탄수율과 C/N비, 최종이산화탄소수율, COD, 강열감량, 총유기탄소와의 상관관계를 알아보기 위해 선형모델에 최소자승법을 적용해 평가하였고 그 결과, COD(r²=0.7586)와 강열감량(r²=0.7876)을 제외한 나머지 모든 항목에서 최종메탄수율과 높은 상관관계를 띔을 알 수 있었다(r²=0.9795∼0.9858). 따라서 C/N 또는 TOC 분석결과를 통해 메탄발생수율을 예측 가능할 것으로 판단된다. The main objective of this study was to offer informations about the current conditions of stream sediments and to evaluate biochemical methane potentials of stream sediments from the urban streams in Busan city using conventional BMP tests. First we select total 5 urban streams and collect sediment samples. Then, COD, proximate analysis, volatile solid, organic carbon content and elemental analysis were conducted to determine characteristics of the sediments. Results show that COD, volatile solid and organic carbon content are determined in the range of 15.20∼75.07 ㎎ g<SUP>-1</SUP>, 2.34∼11.54% and 1.28∼34.21%, respectively. Also, several biochemical methane potential tests were performed in a laboratory. As a result, pH values of the reactors generally increased and then stabilized at 7.11∼7.35. In addition, C/N ratio, ultimate methane and carbon dioxide yield (mL/g VS) and biodegradability (%) were determined to 1.05∼10.27, 10.1∼179.4, 10.3∼34.4 and 4.0∼30.1, respectively. For the determination of the correlations between ultimate methane yield and ultimate carbon dioxide yield, C/N ratio, COD, volatile solid and organic carbon content, a linear model was fitted to the data using a least-squares algorithm. As a result, except for COD (r²=0.7586) and volatile solid (r²=0.7876), Linear model was well fitted to each data with good values of the correlation coefficient (r²=0.9795∼0.9858). Finally, we propose empirical equations, which contain C/N ratio or TOC, for the prediction of ultimate methane yield for the urban streams in Busan city.

Now, we are joining in KSLV-II(Korea Space Launch Vehicle-II) project and developing Pyro starter which is turbo pump for the first start-up of liquid propulsion supply.
