4E-BP is a target of the GCN2–ATF4 pathway during <i>Drosophila</i> development and aging

<P>Reduced amino acid availability attenuates mRNA translation in cells and helps to extend lifespan in model organisms. The amino acid deprivation activated kinase GCN2 mediates this response in part by phosphorylating elF2 alpha. In addition, the cap-dependent translational inhibitor 4E-BP is transcriptionally induced to extend lifespan in Drosophila melanogaster, but through an unclear mechanism. Here, we show that GCN2 and its downstream transcription factor, ATF4, mediate 4E-BP induction, and GCN2 is required for lifespan extension in response to dietary restriction of amino acids. The 4E-BP intron contains ATF4-binding sites that not only respond to stress but also show inherent ATF4 activity during normal development. Analysis of the newly synthesized proteome through metabolic labeling combined with click chemistry shows that certain stress-responsive proteins are resistant to inhibition by 4E-BP, and gcn2 mutant flies have reduced levels of stress-responsive protein synthesis. These results indicate that GCN2 and ATF4 are important regulators of 4E-BP transcription during normal development and aging.</P>

Topological indices are well studied in recent years. These are useful tools in studying Quantitative Structure Activity Relationship (QSAR) and Quantitative Structure Property Relationship (QSPR). The main goal of this paper is to concentrate the investigation on generalized version of Dutch windmill graph of certain graph operators in terms of topological indices, for instance, symmetric division deg index, rst and second Zagreb indices.
Nanofluid lubrication and high pressure Raman studies of oxygen functionalized graphene nanosheets

Ultralow friction coefficient in reduced graphene oxide (rGO) nanofluid was observed at high pressure lubrication conditions. High pressure Raman spectroscopic studies of graphene oxide (GO) and rGO in a hydrostatic pressure medium in diamond anvil cell (DAC) showed an increase in G-band linewidth in GO but this value was decreased in rGO at same pressure range due to the defect relaxation in sp2 networks. Moreover, loss of recovery of G band linewidth in decompression cycles was clearly noticed in both the samples but it was significantly higher in GO due to the irreversible sp3 into sp2 planar phase.

Purpose: To propose suggestions for future direction of health informatics in Sri Lanka with the understanding of existing situation in Sri Lanka and world. Methodology: Online literature search from journal articles and other documents Findings: Application of Health Information System (HIS) in health informatics has been implemented on project basis at district level by facing various barriers. Experience of efficiency and effectiveness have been motivated to expand the application up to national level. Conclusion: Applications of health informatics in Sri Lanka is limited when comparing with other countries in the world due to various barriers.
