Wings for defense industry such as fighters, missiles, and rockets should have no deformation or damage on the structure, strength, and hardness safety of constituted pared and the structures near to the bodies. The structures of existing wings had holes for light weight and plates and frames were fixed with rivets or screws, thus, there were difficulties and limits in light weight. In this study, an improvement was made in current joint methods through EB welding and laser welding for light weight of wings and welding strength was measured through strength test. In addition, finite element analysis was performed for welding process so as to induce optimum welding condition.

In plastic working, as working becomes speedy, automatic and working condition deteriorates, the increase of forging working has been remarkable. Therefore, we need the estimation of mold life in detail, in order to counterplan of effective mold life extension. In this study, on the SKH51, mold steel which is forged by cold working and the KCW1, tool steel of low alloy, wc estimated mold life on the base of FEM analysis and investigated mold life by low cycle fatigue test. Also, this paper suggested a new method of estimation of mold life.

Metal matrix composites with whisker reinforcements have significant potential for demanding mechanical applications including defense, aerospace, and automotive industries. Especially, metal matrix composites, which are reinforced with aluminum borate whisker, have been used for the palt of piston head in automobile because of good specific strength and wear resistance. Aluminum alloy-based metal matrix composites with whisker reinforcements have been produced using squeeze casting method, which is kind of an infiltration method. In this study, AC4CH-based metal matrix composites with Al_18B_4O_33 reinforcement have been produced using squeeze casting method, after T6 heat treatment, we evaluated mechanical properties of matrix and MMC composite were evaluated.
An Evaluation on Preform Process and Compressive Strength of Whisker reinforcement

Nowadays, many components in aerospace and automobile industry require lightness and high strength. And existent metal is confronted by limitation. Accordingly, there are many studies on Metal Matrix Composite (MMC) taking more excellent characteristics than existent metal material. MMC can obtain mechanical characteristics of application purposes that a single material is difficult to obtain. MMC is manufactured from preform by pressure casting. The pressure causes deformation or fault of manufactured MMC and preform. Accordingly, in order to maintain the preform shape enduring infiltration pressure, preform manufacture have to consider influence of binder and sintering temperature. This study manufactured preform by Aluminum Borate Whisker and researched effect of compressive strength on binder and sintering temperature of preform.
A study on the new high strength casting Al-Cn alloy by heat treatment and structure property

Aging and solid-solution are main methods to strengthen metal, and their optimal strengthening temperature and time are more and more drew attention to study. Al-Cu alloys are one kind of typical precipitation hardening alloy, and high strength casting Al-Cu alloy has been widely used in industry. In this study the authors use heat treatment and aging to strengthen the alloy, and then the analysis techniques such as transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), optical metallographic examination(OM), metallographic analysis, fracture analysis and electron diffraction were employed in this dissertation.
쇼트피닝 투사 속도에 따른 Al6061-T651의 압축잔류응력 및 피로특성에 관한 연구

Recently, the steel parts used for automobiles and trains are required to be used under higher stress than ever before in need of the weight down. To achieve this requirement of a high strength steel, it must be necessary to decrease the inclusion contents and surface defects such as decarburization, surface roughness etc. In this study, the results of observation on the arc height, surface roughness, hardness, residual stress and fatigue life of a Al6061-T651 shot peened were obtained. Experimental results show that the increase of arc height is tremendous by shot velocity. Also shows that increase of surface roughness, hardness and compressive residual stress, fatigue life of Al6061- T651 by shot velocity.
Study on Sliding Wear Characteristics and Processing of MoSi

In this study, a monolithic MoSi2 matrix reinforced with 20 vol% SiC particles, a SiC/MoSi2 composite matrix reinforced with 20 vol% ZrO2 particles, and a ZrO2/MoSi2 composite were fabricated using hot press sintering at $1350^{\circ}C$ for 1 h under a pressure of 30 MPa. The Vickers hardness and sliding wear resistance of the monolithic MoSi2, ZrO2/MoSi2, and SiC/MoSi2 composite were investigated at room temperature. A wear behavior test was carried out using a disk-type wear tester with a silicon nitride ball. The ZrO2/MoSi2 composite showed an average Vickers hardness value and excellent wear resistance compared with the monolithic MoSi2 and SiC/MoSi2 composite at room temperature.

Metal matrix composites had generated a lot of interest in recent time because of their high specific strength and stiffness in specific properties. It was also highlighted as the material of frontier industry because strength, heat-resistance, corrosion-resistance and wear-resistance were superiored. In this study, the strength properties of AI18B4O33/AC4CH composites were represented mixing the binder of SiO2. It was also fabricated by squeeze casting. AI_18B_4O_33/AC4CH was fabricated at the melt temperature of 760℃, the perform temperature of 700℃ and mold temperature of200℃ under the pressure of 83.4MPa. Consequently, fatigue life was observed roughly in the order of AC4CH) nobiner) SiO_2, independently on crack propagation direction and stress ratio.<br/>
Tensile Property and Residual Stresses in Dissimilar Aluminiums Friction Stir Welding

Friction stir welding has the advantage that many of the welding parameters, eg. tool design, rotation speed and travelling speed, can be contralled in a precise manner, thus controlling the energy input into the system. Therefore, the micro-structure of the welding aluminium were tested, the residual stresses induced by the friction stir welding process conducted with 500rpm and 100mm/min was also measured. The stresses in the test specimen peaked at -9Mpa and had the conventional "M" profile.
