The Comparison and Analysis of Maritime Precise Positioning using GPS Based Smartphone
Park, Sul Gee,Park, Sang Hyun The Institute of Positioning 2018 Journal of Positioning, Navigation, and Timing Vol.7 No.4
According to the Korea Coast Guard's maritime disaster statistics (Korea Coast Guard 2017, Korean Statistical information Service 2018), an average of 2,140 marine accidents occurred every year for the past 6 years and the number of accidents is increasing every year. Among them, maritime accidents of fishing vessels are the most frequent, and recently accidents involving fishing boat and leisure vessels are rapidly increasing as well. In particular, the number of accidents involving leisure vessels increased to about one-third of the accidents of fishing vessels, and emergency rescue requests are increasing every year accordingly. However, the number of crash accidents involving users of small vessels and marine leisure activities are increasing because of the difficulties of installing navigation equipment and electronic navigation charts. Recently, the demand for precise positioning using mobile devices is increasing in the fields of maritime safety, piloting support, and coastal survey. Although various applications of smart devices provide location-based services for users, the measurement results are discontinuous when using the position coordinates of the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) calculated by smartphone. Recently, Google announced that they will provide GPS raw data to developers from Android 7.0 Nougat. As a result, developers have an opportunity to receive precise carrier phase and code measurements to make more accurate positioning according to the performance of Android devices. This study analyzed GPS positioning performance using Android devices, and compared and analyzed the positioning performance at sea with high-performance GPS receivers.

Due to inaccurate safe navigation estimates, maritime accidents have been occurring consistently. In order to solve this, the precise positioning technology using carrier phase information is used, but due to high buildings near inland waterways or inclination, satellite signals might become weak or blocked for some time. Under this weak signal environment for some time, the GPS raw measurements become less accurate so that it is difficult to search and maintain the integer ambiguity of carrier phase. In this paper, a method to generate code and carrier phase measurements under this environment and maintain resilient navigation is proposed. In the weak signal environment, the position of the receiver is estimated using an inertial sensor, and with this information, the distance between the satellite and the receiver is calculated to generate code measurements using IGS product and model. And, the carrier phase measurements are generated based on the statistics for generating fractional phase. In order to verify the performance of the proposed method, the proposed method was compared for a fixed blocked time. It was confirmed that in case of a weak or blocked satellite signals for 1 to 5 minutes, the proposed method showed more improved results than the inertial navigation only, maintaining stable positioning accuracy within 1 m.

This paper proposes a vision/DR integrated navigation system using distance between wheels of the vehicle and a gyroscope. In order to show the validity of the proposed vision/DR integrated navigation system, experiments were performed for a trajectory of a mobile robot. Experimental results show that the proposed vision/DR integrated navigation system gives better navigation performance than a vision/DR integrated navigation system using only distance between wheels of the vehicle.

Today, as the boundaries of formative art have been abolished, the interaction among different territories of art, even beauty art, has become more harmonious, and the creatvity and artistry of formative arts have been influenced heavily. As the variety of visual arts has been given more meaning, hair art that emphasizes formative art has led to many creative attempts. This study is attempting to see the feasibility of the visualization of the sculpture based on previous researches which are expressed sculpture out of acoustics. This study is trying to suggest more creative formative style of hair art synesthesially by forming visually in hair art transforming acoustics factor to sculptural factor. Through Russolo’ S “Intonarumori", Nam June Paik’ S “the more, the better" ’ Kandinsky' s “Improvisation19, Improvisation30", Paul Klee’ S “Rhythm" , and more, it could be resulted from creating hair art by visualizing of the sculpture out of acoustics confirming the fact that sculpture is made of acoustics. This research study which used guitar music as the subject matter, the first piece of work “To resonance my Soul to mind" , through the earphones was born the second piece “To Go Crazy for Music", and listening to music of a different sort was work(C) “the Notes are Dancing" was created. To express Artpieces (A), (B), (C) as Hair art, a human' s face (my face) was employed, and so were music-related material such as guitar strings, ear phones, music notes were put to direct and express the hair. The sensibility of the acoustics as the matter is creating the artist’s mental image of the art piece, many pieces in the area of the hair art as well as many formative artpieces will be produced with musical sensibility, and music becomes motive for hair designers to create more innovative artworks, and they are expected to produce a plethora of artwork.

An alignment algorithm for strapdown inertial navigation systems is proposed, in which the psi angle error model is utilized. The proposed alignment algorithm is derived from the Psi angle error model which has been widely used in real-time navigation systems. The equation for expecting steady state alignment error is also derived. The proposed algorithm was verified through real-time experiments. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can be used in the inertial navigation system and GNSS/INS integrated navigation system to get an initial attitude of the vehicle.

An error analysis of PPP (Precise Point Positioning) using IF (Ionosphere Free) combination is given in this paper. It is shown that the performance of the ordinary model with positions, clock bias, integer ambiguities and ionosphere delay as unknowns is equivalent to that of an ionosphere difference combination where ionosphere delay is cancelled out. Furthermore, it is shown that IF combination is an ionosphere difference combination but not unique. It is also proved that all difference models show same performances. The error analysis evaluated with a hardware simulator and real measurements show that the ionosphere delay is effectively eliminated by IF combination or equivalently by the ionosphere difference combination. However, if bias errors such as troposphere, clock bias or multipath are included in the measurements, the performance of the IF combination is degraded because the bias errors are amplified by the ionosphere difference operation.

Performance Expectation of Single Station PPP-RTK using Dual-frequency GPS Measurement in Korea
Ong, Junho,Park, Sul Gee,Park, Sang Hyun,Park, Chansik 항법시스템학회 2021 Journal of Positioning, Navigation, and Timing Vol.10 No.3
Precise Point Positioning-Real Time Kinematic (PPP-RTK) is an improved PPP method that provides the user receiver with satellite code and phase bias correction information in addition to the satellite orbit and clock, thus enabling single-receiver ambiguity resolution. Single station PPP-RTK concept is special case of PPP-RTK in that corrections are computed, instead of a network, by only one single GNSS receiver. This study is performed to experimentally verify the positioning accuracy performance of single baseline RTK level by a user who utilizes correction for a single station PPP-RTK using dual frequencies. As an experimental result, the horizontal and vertical 95% accuracy was 2.2 cm, 4.4 cm, respectively, which verify the same performance as the single baseline RTK.
