As the commercialization of autonomous vehicles is progressing rapidly, the function and stability of autonomous driving are becoming more important. Sensors used for autonomous driving are greatly affected by surrounding environment, so it is necessary to reduce errors caused by unstable sensor values and noise. In this paper we aim to improve a perception of camera and lidar for lane keeping and collision avoidance, which are core technologies for autonomous driving. To improve camera perception, a glare removal algorithm is used and a sliding window is used to increase the lane detection rate. To avoid collision, ROI is set and obstacles are detected by applying DBSCAN using LiDAR.
Load Balancing Algorithm with Programmable Switch

Data center network traffic fluctuates over time while applications in the data center require high throughput and low latency. To satisfy these requirements, many load balancing algorithms have been proposed. But existing load balancing algorithms show difficulties in processing short flows and have limited scalability. This paper proposes a load balancing algorithm using probe packets. Probe packet collects detailed network information such as link utilization, hop latency at packet units periodically. The algorithm uses link utilization, hop latency, and queue occupancy to calculate the degree of congestion. The algorithm uses the network status information for load balancing by designating best hops for each hop. Metrics that measure congestion was collected and tested through probe packets in the virtual programmable network environment, and the result shows 24.18% higher performance compared with ECMP.
Inguinal hernia surgery in Korea: nationwide data from 2007–2015

Purpose: The aim of this study is to analyze inguinal hernia in Korea based on the nationwide data. Methods: Retrospective analysis of nationwide data obtained from the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service database for surgical repair of inguinal hernia from January, 2007 to December, 2015 was performed. Results: A total of 314,238 cases of inguinal hernia surgery were performed during 9 years. The mean number of inguinal hernia surgery per year was 34,604 (range, 30,065–36,928). The proportion of male patient was 87%. Patients between the age of 1 to 5 years (17.3%) and of 60 to 69 years (17.4%) constituted the 2 dominant groups for inguinal hernia repair. A slight increase in repair for recurrent inguinal hernia, 1.9% to 3.2%, was observed from 2007 to 2015. The rate of concurrent bowel resection decreased from 1.9% to 0.6%. The total cost of inguinal hernia surgery was increased up to 1.68 times from 2007 to 2015 ($856 to $1,439), although the number of hospital days was decreased from 4.7 to 3.7 days. The rate of laparoscopic surgery was increased to 29.5% in 2015. Conclusion: A mean number of 34,604 cases of inguinal hernia surgery have been carried out annually in Korea. The age distribution for inguinal hernia repair demonstrates bimodal peak at early childhood and old age. The proportion of laparoscopic surgery of inguinal hernia has been increasing for the past 9 years. The length of hospital stay and the rate of combined bowel resection have decreased. [

Cell physiology is regulated extensively by biochemical factors. However, recent studies have identified many types of mechanosensitive cells to address the importance of mechanical cues in cell functions and motility. While extensive work exists on the effect of adhesive proteins on cells motility, little is known about how motility of cells is affected by the mechanical properties of their physical environment. The effects of substrate stiffness on the morphology and motility speed of 3 different cells have been investigated. Human dermal fibroblast, human keratinocyte HaCaT cell and human aortic endothelial cell (HAEC) were plated onto PDMS of varying stiffness, ranging from 10 ㎪ to 1.5 ㎫, and coated with the fibronectin. Our results show that there is an optimal migration stiffness range of each cell type. The modulation of mechanical cues such as altering the rigidity of cell environment may be the key mechanism used to regulate cell migration and wound healing.
머신러닝을 이용한 VNF 이상 탐지 및 고장 예측 기반 NFV 관리 시스템 설계

5G 네트워크는 소프트웨어 정의 네트워킹 (Software-Defined Networking, SDN)과 네트워크 기능 가상화 (Network Function Virtualization, NFV) 기술을 이용해 가상화된 네트워크 환경을 구축하고 사용자의 서비스 요청을 보다 유연하고 민첩하게 처리하고 있다. 하지만 가상 네트워크가 점점 복잡해짐에 따라 다양한 관리 문제가 발생하고 있으며, 이러한 관리 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 가상 네트워크 환경을 구성하는 서버 및 VNF (Virtualized Network Function)들을 모니터링하여 최적의 관리 정책을 도출할 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 가상 네트워크 모니터링 및 분석과 함께 머신러닝을 이용해 VNF 의 이상 탐지 (anomaly detection) 및 고장 예측 (failure prediction)을 수행하고, 안정적인 5G 가상네트워크 관리에 필수적인 Auto-scaling, Live Migration 등의 기능을 적용하여 과부하와 서비스 품질저하를 완화하거나 고장을 사전에 예방하는 NFV 관리 시스템을 제안한다.
