An enrichment/separation system for atomic absorption spectrometric determinations of Cu(Ⅱ), Fe(Ⅲ), Ni(Ⅱ) and Co(Ⅱ) has been established. The procedure is based on the adsorption of the analytes as calmagite chelates on Chromosorb-102. The effects of some parameters including pH, amount of ligand, salt matrix, flow rates of sample and eluent solutions were investigated. Under optimized conditions, the relative standard deviation of the combined method of sample treatment, preconcentration and determination with FAAS (N=5) is generally lower than 5%. The limit of detection (3σ) was between 6.0-112.9 ㎍/L. The results were used for preconcentration of analytes from some sodium and ammonium salt.

A separation–preconcentration procedure for germanium has been presented. The optimum conditions including pH, sample volume, sample-eluent flow rates, sample and matrix effects for adsorption of germanium(IV) on polysulfone membrane filter were investigated prior to spectrophotometric determination of germanium as Ge(IV)-9-phenyl-3-fluorone complex. Ge(IV) was adsorbed on membrane at pH 4.0 and was eluted from membrane with phosphoric acid. The accuracy was checked by determination of germanium content of GBW 07402 soil certified reference material. The detection and quantification limits were found as 2.1 and 7.0 ng/L, respectively. The method was applied for determination of germanium in soil and water samples.

A solid phase extraction procedure has been presented by using multiwalled carbon nanotubeimpregnated with tartrazine for cadmium (Cd(II)) and lead (Pb(II)) ions. The influences of pH, flow rate, eluent and sample volume were investigated. No interference effects were observed from the alkaline, alkaline earth and some transition metals. The detection limits (LOD) were 0.8 and 6.6 mg L-1 for Cd(II)and Pb(II), respectively. The preconcentration factor was 40. The validation of the procedure wascontrolled by the analysis of certified references materials. The procedure was applied to thedetermination of cadmium and lead in natural water and food samples.

A coprecipitation method was developed for the quantitative separation and preconcentration of Pb(II),Cr(III) and Cu(II) ions. Analytes were coprecipitated using a triazole derivative (2-{4-[2-(1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]-3-(4-chlorobenzyl)-5-oxo-4,5-dihydro-1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl}-N-aryl methylidene acetohydrazid). The analytes were analyzed by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The parameters suchas sample pH, amount of reagent, sample volume, matrix effects etc. were investigated. The enrichmentfactor for the analyzed metal ions was obtained as 50. The relative standard deviations (RSD) were in therange of 2.8–4.1%. The accuracy of the proposed procedure was checked by the analysis of the CRM-CSandySoil C. The method was successfully applied to real samples.

A mixed micelle-mediated cloud point extraction procedure was developed for lead. Triton-X114 andbenzyldimethyl hexadecyl-ammonium chloride were used as mixed micellar medium. Lead(II) wasreacted with 4-(2-pyridylazo) resorcinol at pH 6.0 to form hydrophobic chelates. The parametersincluding pH, ligand volume, concentrations of surfactants and centrifugation time were optimized. Theeffect of some common ions was also tested. The limit of detection was 1.15 mg L 1 withpreconcentration factor of 50. The accuracy of method was evaluated by the analysis of certifiedreference materials. The method was successfully applied to determination of levels of lead in watersamples.

Accurate and rapid detection of antibiotics is critical for protecting human health and the environment. To this end, we report a novel electrochemical sensor for the simultaneous detection of Levofloxacin (LFX) and Tryptophan (TRP) in dairy samples. Outstanding electrocatalytic activity for the oxidation of LFX and TRP is exhibited by the Activated Nanodiamond (AND) and Ti3AlC2 max phase (Ti3AlC2max) nanocomposite-modified glassy carbon electrode (Ti3AlC2max AND/GCE) featured in our sensor. High selectivity and sensitivity are achieved by the sensor, with limits of detection (LOD) of 20.47 nM and 0.309 μM for LFX and TRP, respectively. Moreover, strong anti-parasite capacity is demonstrated by the developed sensor, making it an excellent candidate for the establishment of a reliable sensing platform for antibiotic detection. Findings suggest that this novel sensor could serve as a valuable tool for monitoring the content of LFX and TRP in dairy samples and enhancing the safety of these products.

An in-syringe ionic liquid-based single step microextraction has been analytically presented. 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate as extractant and Triton X-100 as dispersing medium wereused. Cd-Dithizone was extracted within a syringe. The effects of some variables such as [C4mim][PF6]volume, pH, TX-100 volume, dithizone concentration, incubation time, diluents nature and matrix effectwere investigated. The limit of detection and preconcentration factor were found as 0.35 mg L 1 and 50,respectively. The validity was checked by using certified reference materials. The relative standarddeviation (RSD) was 4.2%. The method was satisfactorily applied to preconcentration of cadmium innatural water samples.

Multiwalled carbon nanotube impregnated by bis(5-bromosalicylidene)-1,3-propandiamine (BBSPN)was synthesized and applied as adsorbent for the enrichment of trace amount of Pb2+ ion subsequenttheir determination by flame atomic absorption spectroscopy (FAAS). The influences of the analyticalparameters including pH, amount of ligand and adsorbent, type and condition of eluent and samplevolume on the Pb2+ ion recoveries were investigated. The optimum pH value for the separation of Pb2+ion on the new sorbent was 6 and the adsorbed Pb2+ ion could be completely eluted by using 5.0 mL of2.0 mol L-1 HNO3 solutions with 0.015 g of ligand and 0.100 g of adsorbent. Common coexisting ions didnot interfere with the separation and determination of target metal ions. The method has high sorption–preconcentration efficiency with relative standard deviation less than 4.0%, especially for leaddetermination in radish, vegetable, potato, tomato and cheeps.
