The anti-corrosion ability of Syzygium samarangense leaf extract (SSLE) was studied using electrochemicalways, topography research and theoretical calculations. The results of electrochemical tests indicatedthat SSLE can effectually control the Q235 steel corrosion in sulfuric acid environment. When the concentrationof SSLE was 400 mg/L, its anti-corrosion ability can be close to 90%. SSLE can efficaciously restrictthe cathodic and anodic reactions, and can still emerge high corrosion inhibition character at a certaintemperatures scope. The surface morphology test shows that the Q235 steel becomes smooth and brightafter adding SSLE. Theoretical calculation data indicated that SSLE can manifest high corrosion inhibitionperformance. The adsorption of SSLE at the solution/surfaces of steel accords with the Langmuir adsorptionmodel.
Investigation of indole-3-carboxylic acid as steel inhibitor in 0.1 M H2SO4 solution

Corrosion inhibition of indole-3-carboxylic acid (ICA) on mild steel in 0.1 M H2SO4 solution has been studied through weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and scanning electron microscope (SEM) experiments. Plots from polarization and EIS techniques show ICA acts as a mixed type inhibitor and its high inhibition effectiveness is assumed to occur via the adsorption of the inhibitor molecules on steel surface. It is then found that this adsorption behavior obeys the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Theoretical techniques incorporating molecular mechanics and molecular dynamics were used to simulate the adsorption of ICA molecule on Fe(1 1 0) surface.

Imidazo-pyridazine and Bromo/Chloro-Imidazo-pyridazines are employed as the inhibitors for Al alloy in0.1 M HCl and 0.5 M HCl solutions. The electrochemical tests and adsorption model analysis revealed thatthree compounds are mixed-type inhibitors and Imidazo-pyridazine exhibited the best anti-corrosionperformance for Al electrode in HCl solutions by physicochemical. From electrochemical results, the bestanti-corrosion efficiency is 88.1 % for Al in 0.5MHCl with 2.0mMIP, while the efficiency is 75.5 % for Al in0.5 M HCl with 1.0 mM IP. The different inhibition behaviors result from the probability of the formationof AlCladsand N-onium ions. The formation of adsorption is due to the electrostatic attraction betweenAlCladsand N-onium ions. The surface topography test revealed that the Imidazo-pyridazine is the best corrosionbarrier for Al in 0.5 M HCl. The dynamic simulation demonstrated that the inhibition molecules andprotonated molecules can adsorb on the Al surface spontaneously with parallel adsorption configuration nomatter in more or less Cl- atmosphere.
