Improvement Effect on Soft Ground by Recycled-Aggregate Porous Concrete Pile (RAPP)

In this paper, a recycled aggregate porous concrete pile (RAPP) has been developed by replacing natural aggregates with recycled aggregates to overcome technical problems and apply recycled aggregates. To evaluate the applicability of a RAPP method for a ground improvement technique, a series of laboratory model test was performed and the consolidation behavior of composite soils reinforced with SCP, GCP and RAPP were compared. The consolidation time and effect of the RAPP method also showed the similar performance of other conventional SCP and GCP method under the same replacement area ratio and surcharge pressure. The settlement reduction and stress sharing effect of RAPP showed the superior effect than SCP and GCP method under the same boundary condition
