• Spacecraft Controller Tuning Using Particle Swarm Optimization

        Rihan Ahmed,Hamza Chaal,Da-wei Gu 제어로봇시스템학회 2009 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2009 No.8

In this paper, a new evolutionary algorithm based optimal design approach for spacecraft attitude stabilization is presented. The plant (spacecraft attitude model) is modeled by a second order non-linear multi-input multi-output system. Euler’s equation of rotational dynamics and Modified Rodrigues parameter (MRP) jointly defines the plant. The control low is synthesized in an output feedback structure based on a Lyapunov scheme proposed recently in [1]. The virtues of this method extend from simplicity and inherited robustness to practical considerations like the use of high gain filters to estimate the rate of change of output. However, this method suggests a set of parameters that drastically influence the performance of the controlled system. The fact that there is no straightforward correlation between these parameters and the performance of the system may impede its utilization. In this work we propose the use of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm as a tool to infer the best parameters. The PSO optimization is performed in time domain using a simple cost function which minimizes the absolute value of the tracking error while varying the controller gains. Simulation results are included to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

      • La Racha : Speed and Violence in Tijuana

Rihan Yeh 한국외국어대학교 HK 세미오시스 연구센터 2017 Signs and Society Vol.5 No.-

Perched at the edge of California, Tijuana occupies a strategic location for capitalist mobilities of all sorts. This essay examines how the violence of drug trafficking and the speed of the transnational assembly plants came into resonance during a period often known locally as the racha, or streak, of violence, when Mexico’s so-called war on drug trafficking was perceived by many to be at its worst. The semiotic underpinnings of the racha, I argue, lie in the qualia of speed and slowness as these are valorized in supply-chain provisioning of the assembly plants and then calqued onto automotive traffic in the city. Speed and slowness here, though, are bound up with a highly equivocal sense of individual agency. By tracking these qualia across spheres of practice and, finally, into narratives of violence, I show how the racha took shape as a public crisis in the ability to assign individual agency securely.

      • Stability analysis of the differential genetic regulatory networks model with time-varying delays and Markovian jumping parameters

        Lakshmanan, S.,Rihan, F.A.,Rakkiyappan, R.,Park, J.H. Elsevier Ltd 2014 NONLINEAR ANALYSIS HYBRID SYSTEMS Vol.14 No.-

In this paper, we investigate the stability and robust stability criteria for genetic regulatory networks with interval time-varying delays and Markovian jumping parameters. The genetic regulatory networks have a finite number of modes, which may jump from one mode to another according to the Markov process. By using Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, some sufficient conditions are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities to achieve the global asymptotic stability in the mean square of the considered genetic regulatory networks. Two numerical examples are provided to illustrate the usefulness of the obtained theoretical results.

      • Impulsive effect on exponential synchronization of neural networks with leakage delay under sampled-data feedback control

        Lakshmanan, S.,Park, Ju H.,Rihan, Fathalla A.,Rakkiyappan, R. Chinese Physical Society 2014 Chinese Physics B Vol.23 No.7

We consider the impulsive effect on the exponential synchronization of neural networks with leakage delay under the sampled-data feedback control. We use an appropriate Lyapunov—Krasovskii functional combined with the input delay approach and some inequality techniques to derive sufficient conditions that ensure the exponential synchronization of the delayed neural network. The conditions are formulated in terms of the leakage delay, the sampling period, and the exponential convergence rate. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the usefulness and the effectiveness of the results.

Pollen/Fruit Syndrome: Clinical Relevance of the Cypress Pollen Allergenic Gibberellin-Regulated Protein

        Hélène Sénéchal,Sanaz Keykhosravi,Rémy Couderc,Marie-Ange Selva,Youcef Shahali,Tomoyasu Aizawa,Jean-Marc Busnel,Rihane Arif,Inna Mercier,Nhan Pham-Thi,Denis-André Charpin,Pascal Poncet 대한천식알레르기학회 2019 Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Research Vol.11 No.1

A pollen/food-associated syndrome (PFAS) has been described between peach and cypress pollen. Cross-reactive allergens were characterized which belong to the Gibberellin-regulated protein (GRP) family, BP14 in cypress pollen and Pru p 7 in peach. GRP are small cationic protein with anti-microbial properties. A patient suffering from a peach/cypress syndrome was explored clinically and biologically using 2 types of immunoglobulin E (IgE) multiarray microchip, immunoblots and a basophil activation test to assess the clinical relevance of various extracts and purified allergens from fruits or cypress pollen. In addition to PR10 sensitization, the patient showed specific IgE to Pru p 7, BP14 and allergen from pomegranate. These last 3 allergens and allergenic sources are able to induce ex vivo basophil activation characterized by the monitoring of the expression of CD63 and CD203c, both cell surface markers correlated with a basophil mediator release. Up to 100% of cells expressed CD203c at 50 ng/mL of BP14 protein. In contrast, snakin-1, a GRP from potato sharing 82% sequence identity with Pru p 7 did not activate patient's basophils. These results strongly suggest that, like Pru p 7, BP14 is a clinically relevant allergenic GRP from pollen. Allergen members of this newly described protein family are good candidates for PFAS where no cross-reactive allergens have been characterized.
