In this paper, we study the method of upper and lower so- lutions and develop the generalized quasilinearization technique for the existence and approximation of solutions to some three-point nonlocal boundary value problems associated with higher order fractional differ- ential equations of the type cDq 0+u(t) + f(t, u(t)) = 0, t ∈(0, 1) u′(0) = u′(π), u′′(0) = 0, u′′′(0) = 0, . . . , u(n−1)(0) = 0, u(1) = u(π), where, n−1 < q < n, n(≥ 3) ∈ N, 0 < π,γ, <δ 1 and cDq 0+ is the Caputo fractional derivative of order q. The nonlinear function f is assumed to be continuous. Existence of solution is established via the upper and lower solutions method and approximation of solutions uses the generalized quasilinearization technique.

An experiment was conducted to determine the effects of two levels of rumen undegradable protein (RUP) without or with whole or extruded flaxseed on milk yield, milk component, milk fatty acids (FAs) profile and plasma metabolites in transition ewes. Three weeks before and after lambing, seventy-two Baluchi ewes were used in a completely randomized design with a 3 × 2 factorial arrangement of treatments. The treatments contained 1) no flaxseed + 20% RUP (no flaxseed, low RUP [NFLR]); 2) no flaxseed + 40% RUP (no flaxseed, high RUP [NFHR]); 3) 10% whole flaxseed + 20% RUP (whole flaxseed, low RUP [WFLR]); 4) 10% whole flaxseed + 40% RUP (whole flaxseed, high RUP [WFHR]); 5) 10% extruded flaxseed + 20% RUP (extruded flaxseed, low RUP [EFLR]), and 6) 10% extruded flaxseed + 40% RUP (extruded flaxseed, high RUP [EFHR]). Ewes fed 10% extruded flaxseed exhibited higher (p < 0.001) dry matter intake (DMI) and colostrum yield (p < 0.1) compared to other treatments. Two types of flaxseed and RUP levels had no significant effect on milk yield, but milk fat and protein contents decreased and increased in diets containing 40% RUP, respectively. Ewes fed extruded flaxseed produced milk with lower concentrations of saturated fatty acids (SFA) and higher α-linolenic and linoleic acids and also polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) compared to other groups (p < 0.05). During post-lambing, the ewes fed diets containing flaxseed exhibited higher concentration of serum non-esterified FAs (NEFA) compared to diets without flaxseed (p < 0.01). The concentration of serum β-hydroxybutyric acid (BHBA) decreased in the diets containing flaxseed types at pre-lambing, but increased in diets containing extruded flaxseed at post-lambing (p < 0.01). The serum glucose concentration of ewes (pre and post-lambing) which consumed diets containing extruded flaxseed or 40% RUP increased, but blood urea concentration was elevated following supplementation of diet with whole flaxseed or 40% RUP (p < 0.001). In conclusion, utilization of 10% extruded flaxseed in the diets of transition ewes had positive effects on animal performance with favorable changes in milk FAs profile. However, there is no considerable advantage to supply more than 20% RUP level in the diet of transition dairy sheep.
이산화티탄 나노입자 필러가 PET와 PLA 나노복합체의 특성에 미치는 영향

Two types of polymers were tested in this study; poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) as a synthetic example and poly(lactic acid) (PLA) as a natural polymer. DSC analyses showed that the use of nanofiller increased the degree of crystallinity (Xc) of both PET and PLA polymers, but the effect was more noticeable on PET nanocomposites. The crystallization of PLA and PET nanocomposites occurred at higher temperatures in comparison to neat polymers. According to dynamic mechanical-thermal analysis (DMTA), the damping factor of PET/TiO2 nanoparticles decreased compared to the neat matrix, but for PLA nanocomposites the opposite trend was observed. Results of the mechanical test showed that for both PET and PLA nanocomposites, the most successful toughening effect was observed at 3 wt% loading of TiO2 nanoparticles. SEM micrographs revealed uniform distribution of TiO2 nanoparticles at 1 and 3 wt% loading levels. The results of WAXD spectra explained that the polymorphs of PLA and PET was not affected by TiO2 nanoparticles. UV-visible spectra showed that TiO2 nanocomposite films had high ultraviolet shielding compared to neat polymer, but there was significant reduction in transparency.
Landfill Site Selection using GIS and AHP: a Case Study: Behbahan, Iran

Finding a suitable site to dispose solid waste is a difficult task for municipality because it is necessary to consider the different factors and criteria in the landfill siting process. In this study, in order to consider all parameters, a combination of Geographic Information System (GIS) and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used for landfill site selection. For the purpose of making decisions in landfill site selection a hierarchy structural was formed and different parameters have been identified, including distance to groundwater, distance to surface water, sensitive ecosystems, land cover, distance to urban and rural areas, land uses, distance to roads, slope, soil type and distance to waste generation places. At first, the rating method was used to evaluate each criterion individually. Then, the relative importance of criteria to each other was determined by an analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method was applied to evaluate the land suitability. The results showed that 38% of the study area have high suitability for land filling. Finally, five sites were a candidate for field investigation with more details.

This study was aimed to optimize the processvariables for improved production of biomass protein usingAspergillus niger from banana fruit peel by the use ofresponse surface methodology. A five-level-four factorscentral composite rotatable design was applied to elucidatethe influence of process variables viz. temperature(20–40 C), pH (4–8), substrate concentration (5–25%),and fermentation period (1–5 days) on biomass and proteincontent. The second-order polynomial models were established,which effectively explicated the variation inexperimental data and significantly epitomized theappreciable correlation between independent variables andresponses. After numerical optimization, the predictedoptimum conditions (temperature of 31.02 C, pH of 6.19,substrate concentration of 19.92%, and the fermentationperiod of 4 days) were obtained with biomass of 24.69 g/Land protein of 61.23%, which were verified through confirmatoryexperiments.

Multi-functional voltage source inverters (VSIs) have attracted increasing attention in recent years for their advantageous auxiliary services for power quality enhancement in autonomous microgrids. These types of VSIs can not only achieve a proper control scheme in autonomous mode but also cope with the prescribed power quality and stability requirements. These functionalities are integrated within the same device, thereby significantly improving the cost-effectiveness of microgrids while decreasing the investment and bulk compared with those of multiple devices with independent functionalities. Control strategies for power quality enhancement in autonomous microgrids using multi-functional VSIs are comprehensively reviewed in this paper. In addition, such VSIs are discussed in detail, and comparisons of which are also provided. Lastly, a number of future research directions for multi-functional VSIs are recommended.
