Concept design of a smart helmet providing high visibility and interactivity

Motorcycle crash covers huge proportion in the general road traffic accidents. The causes of and factors associated with the two-wheeled vehicle accidents are directly linked to visibility between drivers of other types of transportation (bus, car, etc.) and poor interaction issues between riders and handheld devices such smartphones. Therefore enhancing the effectiveness of the head protection of two-wheeler riders as well as improving visibility and interactivity is very important. The purpose of this paper is to present a new design concept of a Smart Helmet providing high visibility and interactivity. The New Smart Helmet Design possesses a built-in stress detector device attached on the sides of the helmet which can be connected to any smartphone device via Bluetooth. Additionally, embedded LED feature that can be controlled by a smartphone application improves the visibility and creates a new emotional experience for Motorcycle Riders.
