Recent years, automotive diesel engine emission standards become very strict, and it is hard to fulfill them just by using the current techniques of improving combustion. Therefore, the ceramic diesel particulate filter (DPF) is widely used for collecting soot from the exhaust gas of diesel engine. However, the DPF need being regenerated after the soot accumulation. This research deals with regeneration of the DPF using ozone, which comes from surface discharge occurred in a dielectric barrier discharge reactor. Pure oxygen was introduced into the reactor, and was discharged to form much activated species, including ozone and monatomic oxygen. When pure oxygen of 4 L/min at a temperature of 443 K is passed to the DPF through plasma reactor which is energized by 100 W for two hours, it has found a decrease in weight of soot by 2 grams. Comparing with the regenerating method via NO₂, the method using ozone is much friendlier to the environment, because ozone is very unstable.

The effective removal of aniline and its derivatives from wastewater is very important due to the high toxicity. Adsorption with a high-performance adsorbent is an efficient pathway. A novel activated carbon, ACUF-700, was synthesized using homemade ureaformaldehyde resin as the major carbon source carbonized at 700 oC. ACUF-700 is characterized by surface area analyzer, FTIR, elemental analyzer, and SEM. The adsorption properties of ACUF-700 towards anilines are also investigated by using batch methods. The test results showed that the ACUF-700 possesses higher specific surface area and narrower pore size distribution. In virtue of its developed pore structure and nitrogencontaining chemical groups, the adsorption capacities towards aniline, p-toluidine and p-chloroaniline could reach 95.6, 108.1 and 128.9mg/g, respectively. The adsorption process could be well described by the intra-particle mass transfer diffusion model and Sips model. Besides, ACUF700 was regenerated easily using diluted hydrochloric acid solution as eluent and ACUF700 possesses better reusability.

Hyperactivated ${\alpha}2$-6-sialylation on N-glycans due to overexpression of the Golgi enzyme ${\beta}$-galactoside: ${\alpha}2$-6-sialyltransferase (ST6Gal-I) often correlates with cancer progression, metastasis, and poor prognosis. This study was aimed to determine the association between ST6Gal-I expression and the risk of recurrence and survival of patients with localized clear-cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) following surgery. We retrospectively enrolled 391 patients (265 in training cohort and 126 in validation cohort) with localized ccRCC underwent nephrectomy at a single center. Tissue microarrays were constructed for immunostaining of ST6Gal-I. Prognostic value and clinical outcomes were evaluated. High ST6Gal-I expression was associated with Fuhrman grade (p<0.001 and p=0.016, respectively) and the University of California Los-Angeles Integrated Staging System (UISS) score (p=0.004 and p=0.017, respectively) in both cohorts. Patients with high ST6Gal-I expression had significantly worse overall survival (OS) (p<0.001 and p<0.001, respectively) and recurrence free survival (RFS) (p<0.001 and p=0.002, respectively) than those with low expression in both cohorts. On multivariate analysis, ST6Gal-I expression remained associated with OS and RFS even after adjusting for the UISS score. Stratified analysis suggested that the association is more pronounced among patients with low and intermediate-risk disease defined by the UISS score. High ST6Gal-I expression is a potential independent adverse predictor of survival and recurrence in ccRCC patients, and the prognostic value is most prominent in those with low and intermediate-risk disease defined by the UISS score.

A several of LiLaSiO4: xTb3+, ySm3+ (LLSO) phosphors were synthesized by high-temperature solid-phase reaction. Through SEM, XRD and fluorescence spectrometer, the phase, morphology, luminescence properties and energy transfer of the samples were systematically analyzed and discussed. Under an excitation of 378 nm wavelength, LLSO: xTb3+ phosphors emit green light, and the concentration quenching point of Tb3+ ions was x = 0.08. In LLSO: xTb3+, ySm3+ phosphors, When Sm3+ ions doping molar mass fraction increases, the fluorescence intensity of Tb3+ ion decreases while the fluorescence intensity of Sm3+ ions first strengthen and then weaken. The concentration quenching point of Sm3+ ions was y = 0.04. By changing the proportion of Sm3+ and Tb3+ ions, the luminous color can be adjusted from green to red. There is effective energy transfer between Tb3+→Sm3+. The molar mass fraction of doping Sm3+ ions is y = 0.10, the energy transfer efficiency reaches 96.67%. The energy transfer mechanism is the quadrupole-quadrupole interaction. The quantum yield is 22.34%. Therefore, LLSO: xTb3+, ySm3+ phosphors have certain potential application value in the field of ultraviolet-near ultraviolet white LEDs.
Activating Transcription Factor 1 is a Prognostic Marker of Colorectal Cancer

Objective: Identifying cancer-related genes or proteins is critical in preventing and controlling colorectal cancer (CRC). This study was to investigate the clinicopathological and prognostic value of activating transcription factor 1 (ATF1) in CRC. Methods: Protein expression of ATF1 was detected using immunohistochemistry in 66 CRC tissues. Clinicopathological association of ATF1 in CRC was analyzed with chi-square test or Fisher's exact test. The prognostic value of ATF1 in CRC is estimated using the Kaplan-Meier analysis and Cox regression models. Results: The ATF1 protein expression was significantly lower in tumor tissues than corresponding normal tissues (51.5% and 71.1%, respectively, P = 0.038). No correlation was found between ATF1 expression and the investigated clinicopathological parameters, including gender, age, depth of invasion, lymph node status, metastasis, pathological stage, vascular tumoral emboli, peritumoral deposits, chemotherapy and original tumor site (all with P > 0.05). Patients with higher ATF1 expression levels have a significantly higher survival rate than that with lower expression (P = 0.026 for overall survival, P = 0.008 for progress free survival). Multivariate Cox regression model revealed that ATF1 expression and depth of invasion were the predictors of the overall survival (P = 0.008 and P = 0.028) and progress free survival (P = 0.002 and P = 0.005) in CRC. Conclusions: Higher ATF1 expression is a predictor of a favorable outcome for the overall survival and progress free survival in CRC.
K-doping effect of the superconductivity in K2xFeTe1-xSx (0.07 ≤ x ≤ 0.3)

Bulk samples of K doping K2xFeTe1-xSx with x=0.07, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 are successfully prepared by using easy-to-use stable compound K2S as the reactant. The lattice constant calculated from X-ray diffraction patterns indicate that K ions enter the Fe-Te-S layers. K doping is beneficial enhance the superconductivity transition temperature from the R-T curves. The apparent diamagnetic signal is observed in M-T curves when the content of K is smaller than 0.1. However, differential curves (dM/dT) in K-rich samples appear sharp slope mutations, which means that the Meissner effect signal is covered by the increased excess ferromagnetic ions. The number of excess Fe magnetic ions is proportional to K content, which may play an important role in determining the superconductivity.
