The generalized Hardie-Jansen product and its dual are defined and the fundamental results on these products are obtained. By studying the adjoint maps, we give proofs to them. Moreover we characterize the generalized Hardie-jansen product making use of the ${\Gamma}W$-Whitehead product. We also obtain a characterization of the dual of the generalized Hardie-Jansen product using $({\Gamma}W)$-Whitehead product.

Accurate seismic analyses of large deformable moving structures are still unsolved problems In the field of earthquake engineering In order to analyze these problems, the nonlinear finite element method formulated by the absolute nodal coordinate approach is noticed Because, this formulation has several advantages over the standard procedures on mass matrix, elastic forces and damping forces In the case of large displacement problems But, It has not been fully studied to build frame structure models by using beam elements In the absolute nodal coordinate formulation In this paper, we propose the connecting method of the beam elements formulated by the absolute nodal coordinate The coordinate transformation matrix of this element is Introduced into the frame structure This beam element has the characteristic that the mass matrix and bending stiffiness matrix are constant even If m the case of large displacement problems, and this characteristic is being kept after the transformation In order to verify the proposed method, we show the numerical simulation results of frame structures for a vibration problem and a large displacement problem<br/>
An MBD approach for a simplified yarn model

This paper presents an MBD model of yarn, which has a high aspect ratio wherein the diameter is much smaller than the length. Clarifyingyarn behavior is important for developing textile machines. Spun yarn is made of innumerable twisted fibers. Evaluating yarn as atwisted fibers model involves a huge calculational environment, and requires much time. Therefore a simplified yarn model made up ofjoined spheres with only position variables without attitude variables is used. Spheres in the yarn model have a fixed distance betweeneach other, and are subjected to gravitational force and drag. Yarn has uncountable fuzz on its surface and the simplified model does notrepresent those shapes. Since it is assumed that fuzz influences only drag in this study, a fuzz coefficient for drag is added. The validity ofthe model is confirmed by comparing the experimental and calculational results. In the experiment, yarn with both edges fixed to a rotoris rotated at high speed. The shape of the yarn results from the balance of the drag, gravitational and internal forces of the yarn. Duringthe experiment, the yarn shape is recorded by high-speed video camera. Yarn behavior is simulated by MBD calculations. From the comparisonof these results, it is found that the experimental and calculational results have suitable correlations, when the optimal fuzz coefficientis applied.

The metabolic flux pattern for L-histidine production was analyzed when glucose and/or acetate were used as carbon sources. Total L-histidine production was enhanced when mixed substrate (glucose and acetate) was used, compared wish that when either glucose or acetate was used as the sole carbon source. Theoretical maximum carbon fluxes through the main pathways for L-histldine production, cell growth, and ATP consumption for cell maintenance were obtained by the linear programming (LP) method. By comparison of the theoretical maximum carbon fluxes tilth actual ones, it was found that a large amount of glucose was actually used for maintenance of cell viability. On the other hand, acetate was used for cell growth. After depletion of acetate in the mixed substrate culture, the flux for glucose to L-histldine synthesis was markedly enhanced. A strategy for effective L-histidine production using both carbon sources was proposed.
Dynamic behaviors of nonlinear fractional-order differential oscillator

The nonlinear dynamic behaviors of oscillators described by fractional-order differential are presented in this paper. The background of the research is based upon two engineering practices. First is that the visco-elastic behaviors of some advanced polymeric materials can be accurately modeled by the fractional calculus constitutive law. Second is that the influence of nonlinear visco-elasticity described by the fractional operator cannot be neglected in some cases such as the vibration with large displacement or large strain and thermo-visco-elastic coupled problems. The numerical scheme for solving the nonlinear equation of motion is developed. The results show that because of the introduction of nonlinear damping modeled by the fractional-order operator, the bifurcation and chaos of the oscillator appear in forced vibration. Furthermore, the fraction value of the fractional operator evidently affects the dynamic behavior of the nonlinear fractional differential oscillator.
