Synthesis of Prussian blue-embedded porous polymer for detection and removal of Cs ions

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A Prussian blue (PB)-embedded coordination polymer (COP) was prepared by simple incorporation of PB into a COP composed of 1,1,2,2-tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)ethane and the Zn ion during the synthesis of COP. The PB-COP was prepared as micro-sized particles with green emission (490 nm) from the strongly fluorescent tetraphenylethene group in the solid state through aggregation-induced emission. The PB-COP showed particle shape with sizes ranging from 1 to 6 μm. As the PB in PB-COP efficiently adsorbed Cs ions, the microstructure of PB-COP was degraded to smaller particles, along with a concomitant decrease in the green fluorescence of the PB-COP. Such a decrease in the green emission of PB-COP was used as a signal for the presence of Cs ions, in which the limit of detection for Cs ions was found to be 73.8 ppb. The hybridized material of the PB-COP can be used as both an efficient adsorbent and a sensor for Cs ions, achieving simultaneous removal and detection.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> A hybrid material was prepared with coordination polymer (COP) and Prussian blue (PB). </LI> <LI> COP was prepared by ionic interaction between COOH of organic molecules and Zn ions. </LI> <LI> The hybrid materials could remove efficiently Cs ions via adsorption on PB. </LI> <LI> The fluorescence of COP in hybrid materials also decreased upon exposure to Cs ions. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

해조성분 강화 기능성소금 3종(Hizikia mineral salt, fucoidan salt, laver salt)을 제조하여 일반적 품질특성 및 무기성분 조성, 용해도, 관능특성 및 ACE 저해활성과 bile acid 결합력을 알아보았다. 수분함량은 Hizikia mineral salt의 경우 대조시료와 유의한 차이가 없었으나 fucoidan salt와 laver salt는 상대적으로 높은 수분함량을 나타내었다. 염도는 해조성분 강화 기능성소금 3종 모두 대조사료 보다는 약간 낮은 값을 나타내었고 pH는 Hizikia mineral salt의 경우 11.34보 다소 높은 값을, fucoidan salt와 laver salt은 6.88과 6.53으로 중성에 가까운 값을 나타내었으며, ORP는 -229㎷에서 38㎷로 월등히 낮은 값을 나타내었다. 기능성 소금의 L, a, b 값은 모두 정제염 보다는 약간 어두운색을 나타내었다. 무기물 함량은 Hizikia mineral sal에서 혈압 저하에 효과가 있는 무기성분인 K? 함량이 다량 함유되어 있었으며 용해도는 Hizikia mineral salt가 다소 떨어지는 경향을 나타내었으나 큰 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 관능특성을 알아본 결과 Na? 이외의 미네랄 성분을 다량 함유하고 있는 Hizikia mineral salt를 제외한 나머지 fucoidan salt, laver salt에서는 색을 제외한 모든 항목에서 높은 점수를 받아 조미기능성 염으로서도 사용가치가 기대되었다. 또한, laver salt는 54.8% 수준의 ACE 저해 활성값을 나타내었으며, fucoidan salt는 54.1-80.7% 수준의 높은 bile acid 결합특성을 각각 나타냄으로서 콜레스테롤 대사 및 혈압조절 기능성을 갖고 있는 것으로 사료되었다. In an attempt to develop functional salts having beneficial health effects, we experimentally prepared three functional salts by fortification with soluble seaweed minerals (Hizikia mineral salt, HMS), fucoidan (fucoidan salt, FS) and laver extracts (laver salt, LS). To characterize the functional salts, their physicochemical properties and in vitro functionalities, such as pH, color, mineral composition, solubility, oxidation-reduction potential, sensory properties, angiotesin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory activity, and bile acid binding capacity were investigated. The functional salts revealed slightly lower NaCI concentrations, but showed a variety of pH values compared with conventional table salt. The pH values of HMS, FS, and LS were 11.3, 6.8, and 6.5, respectively. The oxidation-reduction potentials (ORP) of the functional salts varied from -229 mV to 38 mV, significantly lower than refined salt. The functional salts were significantly darker in color than refined salt, and the mineral composition of HMS was considerably enriched compared to refined salt, particularly in potassium ion. As a result of the sensory evaluation, FS and LS were comparatively palatable in saltiness, pungency, bitterness, and overall acceptance compared with refined salt. It was also found that one functional salt had ACE inhibitory activity (54.8% in LS) and another had bile acid binding capacity (80.7% in FS).

Implant success is achieved by the synergistic combination of numerous biomechanical factors. This report examines the mechanical aspect of implants. In particular, it is focused on macrodesign such as thread shape, pitch, width and depth, and crestal module of implants. This study reviews the literature regarding the effect of implant thread geometry on primary stability and osseointegration under immediate loading. The search strategy included both in vitro and in vivo studies published in the MEDLINE database from January 2000 to June 2014. Various geometrical parameters are analyzed to evaluate their significance for optimal stress distribution, implant surface area, and bone remodeling responses during the process of osseointegration.
인간의 진보된 수중 활동을 지원하는 네트워크 통신 체계 연구

수중에서의 무선 지능화 정보통신은 지상에서 널리 쓰이는 매체인 고주파의 수중 속 특성의 한계 때문에 현재까지도 범용성과 거리가 있는 특수목적에 머물러 있다. 하지만 인류가 과학적, 물적 진보를 계속하고 있어 수중도 언젠가는 진출의 영역이 되어야 하는데, 이를 촉진하기 위한 발전된 기술 연구가 필요하다. 본 논문은 물속에서 인간의 진보된 수중 활동을 지원하는 네트워크 통신 체계 연구 제안이며, 비록 수중 통신기술이 지상의 전파 통신 대비 어려움이 많더라도, 새로운 연구 접근방법과 비즈니스 모델만 확고하다면 수중에서도 융복합 과정이 성공적으로 수행되고, 사람들의 욕구표출을 지원하는 네트워크 통신 체계의 등장이 가능하다고 주장한다.
