Studies describing the vascular systems and their variations in Situs inversus totalis (SIT) from a whole-body computed tomographic (CT) angiography perspective are lacking. We report a case of SIT in which postmortem CT angiography (PMCTA) was performed as a part of the forensic death investigation and incidentally detected several vascular variations in it. The PMCTA procedure was performed using the multiphase PMCTA protocol. Almost all major vessels were visualized, indeed in a completely reversed pattern. Contrast mixture flow interruptions were noted in the right coronary arterial branches suggesting possible blockage, upon which autopsy revealed >90% vessel occlusions at several locations. As such the cause of death was due to ischemic heart disease. Anomalous origins of the right internal mammary artery; abnormal left thyrocervical trunk and variations in the drainage of testicular veins were noted. Our findings might be helpful to clinicians and add to the body of literature on SIT.
훗타 요사에(堀田善衛) 『광장의 고독』의 시선 : 한국전쟁과 동시대의 일본문학
나카네 다카유키 숙명여자대학교 한국어문화연구소 2010 한국어와 문화 Vol.7 No.-
The Korean War (1950-1953) was a war that divided the Korean peninsula into two and set the cold war system in Northeast Asia. Politics scholar Bruce Cummings however stated that currently in America, the Korean War is a "forgotten war". In Japan, the Korean War is currently understood in terms of the posr-war development and the return to the global society and it tends to be mentioned in the context of J aparr-centered historical description. Therefore, even in Japan, the Korean War can be considered a "forgotten war". Then, in the 1950s, what did the Korean War mean to the Japanese literature? This paper will focus on how the Japanese literature in the 1950s did and did not describe the Korean War which prompted the Posr-War Japanese development. First, the paper will review how the 'Posr-War (Japanese) Literature' during the seven years of American occupation caused by the breakout of the Korean War was changed. Then, it will analyze "Loneliness of the Plaza", one of the literature records during this period of the time. Especially, the analysis will focus on the reviews from this period and also on the main character of the novel, Gigaki's gaze and identify the issues and problems that the Japanese society had during the Korean War period.

Background: While 5-port laparoendoscopic radical prostatectomy is standard practice, efforts have been focused in developing a single port surgery for cosmetic reasons. However, this is still in the pioneering stage considering the challenging nature of the surgical procedures. We have therefore focused on reduced port surgery, using only 2-ports. In this study, we compared 2-port laparoendoscopic radical prostatectomy (2-port RP) and conventional 5-port laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRP) for clinically localized prostate carcinoma and evaluated the potential advantages of each. Materials and Methods: From January 2010 to December 2010, all 23 patients with clinically localized prostate cancer underwent LRP. Starting November, 2010, when we introduced the reduced port approach, we performed this procedure for 22 consecutive patients diagnosed with early-stage prostate cancer (cT1c, cT2N0). The patients were matched 1:1 to 2-port RP or LRP for age, preoperative serum PSA level, clinical stage, biopsy and pathological Gleason grade, surgical margin status, pad-free rates and post-operative pain. Results: There was a significant difference in operative time between the 2-port RP and LRP groups ($286.5{\pm}63.3$ and $351.8{\pm}72.4$ min: p=0.0019, without any variation in blood loss (including urine) ($945.1{\pm}479.6$ vs $1271.1{\pm}871.8ml$: p=0.13). The Foley catheter indwelling period was shorter in the 2 port RP group, but without significance ($5.6{\pm}1.8$ vs $8.0{\pm}5.6$ days: p=0.057) and the total perioperative complication rates for 2 port RP and LRP were comparable at 4.5% and 8.7% (p=0.58). There was an improvement in pad-free rates up to 6 months follow-up (p=0.090), and significantly improvement at 1 year (p=0.040). PSA recurrence was 1 (4.5%) in 2-port RP and 2 (8.7%) in LRP. Continuous epidural anesthesia was used in most of LRP patients (95.7%) and in early 2-port RP patients (40.9%). In these patients, average total amount of Diclofenac sodium was 27.8mg/patient in 2-port RP and 50.0mg/patient in LRP. Conclusions: Thus the reduced port approach is as efficacious as LRP in terms of many outcome measures, with significant cosmetic advantages and reduction in post surgical pain. This method can be readily performed safely and therefore can be recommended as a standard laparoscopic surgery for prostate cancer in the future.

This study investigated the relationship between land cover and the water quality variables in therivers, which are located in the Yamaguchi prefecture of West Japan. The study area included 12 catchmentscovering 5,809 Km2. pH, dissolved oxygen, suspended solid, E. coli, total nitrogen and total phosphorus wereconsidered as river water quality variables. Satellite data was applied to generate land cover map. For linkingalterations in land cover (at whole catchment and buffer zone levels) and the river water quality variables,(at whole catchment level) consistently explained high amounts of variation in biological oxygen demand (72%),suspended solid (72%) and total nitrogen (87%). At buffer zone-scale, multiple regression models that weredeveloped to represent the linkage between the alterations of land cover and the river water quality variablescould also explain high level of total variations in suspended solid (86%) and total nitrogen (91%).

This study investigated the relationship between land cover and the water quality variables in the rivers, which are located in the Yamaguchi prefecture of West Japan. The study area included 12 catchments covering $5,809\;Km^2$. pH, dissolved oxygen, suspended solid, E. coli, total nitrogen and total phosphorus were considered as river water quality variables. Satellite data was applied to generate land cover map. For linking alterations in land cover (at whole catchment and buffer zone levels) and the river water quality variables, multiple regression modeling was applied. The results indicated that non-spatial attribute (%) of land cover types (at whole catchment level) consistently explained high amounts of variation in biological oxygen demand (72%), suspended solid (72%) and total nitrogen (87%). At buffer zone-scale, multiple regression models that were developed to represent the linkage between the alterations of land cover and the river water quality variables could also explain high level of total variations in suspended solid (86%) and total nitrogen (91%).
