For the first time, nanostar of SrO was prepared by using PEG400 assisted process. Also PbO, NiO nanoparticle and SnO2microsphere have been synthesized by this method. In this study PEG400 used as template to control crystal growth,morphology and the sizes of nanoparticles. The products were characterized by SEM, FT-IR, UV-Vis spectrum and nanostarof SrO was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD). Results of the XRD analysis of SrO shows the crystal structure. TheUV-Vis spectra of SrO, PbO, NiO and SnO2 illustrate strong absorption peaks at 203, 208, 354 and 382 nm respectively. TheSEM photographs of SrO shows nanostar morphology with diameters ranging 412 nm. The SEM photographs of PbO, NiOand SnO2 show granular morphology with the sizes about 48 nm, 35 nm and 44 µm, respectively. This article offers a simple,low cost and easy method to synthesis SrO, PbO, NiO and SnO2. This method can be applied for synthesis of different metaloxides.

In this study, cinnamon (cin) was loaded into poly(ε-caprolactone)/gelatin (PCL/Gel) nanofi brous matrices in order to fabricatean appropriate mat to improve wound healing. Mats were fabricated from PCL/COLL [1:1 (w/w)] solution with 1, 5and 25% (w/v) of cinnamon. Prepared mats were characterized with regard to their microstructure, mechanical properties,porosity, surface wettability, water-uptake capacity, water vapor permeability, blood compatibility, microbial penetration andcellular response. The fabricated mats with and without cinnamon were used to treat the full-thickness excisional wounds inWistar rats. The results indicated that the amount of cinnamon had a direct eff ect on porosity, mechanical properties, wateruptake capacity, water contact angle, water vapor transmission rate and cell proliferation. In addition, the results of in vivostudy indicated that after 14 days, the wounds which were treated with PCL/Gel 5%cin had better wound closure (98%)among other groups. Our results suggest that the cinnamon can be used as a suitable material for wound healing.

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the accuracy of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) value, and time-intensity curve (TIC) type analysis derived from dynamic contrast-enhanced MR imaging (DCE-MRI) in differentiating benign from malignant adnexal masses. Materials and Methods: 47 patients with 56 adnexal masses (27 malignant and 29 benign) underwent DWI and DCE-MRI examinations, prior to surgery. DWI signal intensity, mean ADC value, and TIC type were determined for all the masses. Results: High signal intensity on DWI and type 3 TIC were helpful in differentiating benign from malignant adnexal masses (p<0.001). The mean ADC value was significantly lower in malignant adnexal masses (p<0.001). An ADC value< $1.20{\times}10^{-3}mm^2/s$ may be the optimal cutoff for differentiating between benign and malignant tumors. The negative predictive value for low signal intensity on DWI, and type 1 TIC were 100%. The pairwise comparison among the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves showed that the area under the curve (AUC) of TIC was significantly larger than the AUCs of DWI and ADC (p<0.001 for comparison of TIC and DWI, p<0.02 for comparison of TIC and ADC value). Conclusions: DWI, ADC value and TIC type derived from DCE-MRI are all sensitive and relatively specific methods for differentiating benign from malignant adnexal masses. By comparing these functional MR techniques, TIC was found to be more accurate than DWI and ADC.

In this endeavor, ultra-fine Ce oxide QDs were synthesized via an in-situ approach which itself wasdivided into two methods exploited to synthesize QDs on the GO nanosheets. Afterward, the obtainedproduct was loaded into the Epoxy (EP) structure and finally applied on the surface. The results affirmedthe presence of Ce oxide QDs and the quantum confinement effect in both samples. FT-IR analysis confirmedthe presence of different functional groups such as C@C and CAH. UV–Vis outcome showed theinteraction of GO nanosheets and CeO2 QDs. The morphology of the surface, QDs distribution on theGO nanosheets, shape, and particle sizes were explored using FESEM and HR-TEM. Lastly, the corrosionsuppression of different coatings—pure EP, GO-only-containing EP, or EP loaded with quantum-dotsdepositedGO synthesized by two methods—were compared and discussed in detail with the help ofEIS and salt spray methods. The result showed that, in the scratched samples, the maximum Rct of45,080 ohm.cm2 was reached when the QDs-modified GO, attaining via the first method, was employed. The overall result denoted the superior performance of the QDs-modified GO nanosheets embedded inthe EP coating—most specifically the one synthesized with the first method.

This paper presents significant empirical evidence on the relationship between Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) practices and sustainable environmental initiatives with the manufacturing capabilities of automotive SMEs in Malaysia. A cross-sectional survey is adopted in this study, which involves 83 Malaysian automotive SMEs. Two hypotheses are proposed in this study, i.e. Hypothesis 1: There are positive effects of AMT practices on the manufacturing capabilities of SMEs and Hypothesis 2: There are positive effects of sustainable environmental initiatives on the manufacturing capabilities of SMEs. The results obtained from the pairwise correlation analysis indicate that both AMT practices and sustainable environmental initiatives have positive effects on manufacturing capabilities, which support both hypotheses. In addition, it is found that 50% of the SMEs implement AMT for flexibility and cost reduction in the past five years. It is also found that more than 80% sustainable practices are adopted in most of the SMEs with the exception of Life Cycle Assessment. Based on the findings, there is a need to move forward into the hybrid approach, which will consider both AMT practices and environmental initiatives to ensure that SMEs remain competitive and become the world player in the automotive industry.
