        Exothermal effects in the thermal decomposition of [IrCl<sub>6</sub>]<sup>2−</sup>-containing salts with [M(NH<sub>3</sub>)<sub>5</sub>Cl]<sup>2+</sup> cations: [M(NH<sub>3</sub>)<sub>5</sub>Cl][IrCl<sub>6</sub>] (M = Co, Cr, Ru, Rh, Ir)

        <P>[M(NH3)5Cl][IrCl6], M = Co, Cr, Ru, Rh, and Ir, were proposed as single-source precursors for bimetallic alloys. Their thermal decomposition in inert and reductive atmospheres below 700 °C results in the formation of nanostructured porous Ir0.5M0.5 alloys. Salts decompose with a significant exothermal effect during the first stage of their thermal breakdown in an inert atmosphere above 200 °C. The exothermal effect gradually decreases in the series: [Co(NH3)5Cl][IrCl6] (1) > [Cr(NH3)5Cl][IrCl6] (2) > [Ru(NH3)5Cl][IrCl6] (3) > [Rh(NH3)5Cl][IrCl6] (4); [Ir(NH3)5Cl][IrCl6] (5) does not exhibit any thermal effects and decomposes at much higher temperatures. To shed light on their thermal decomposition and the nature of the exothermal effect, DSC-EGA, <I>in situ</I> and <I>ex situ</I> IR, Raman, XPS and XAFS studies were performed. A combination of complementary techniques suggests a simultaneous ligand exchange and a reduction of central atoms as key processes. In [Co(NH3)5Cl][IrCl6], Co(iii) and Ir(iv) simultaneously oxidise coordinated ammonia, which can be detected due to a significant exothermal effect and the presence of Co(ii) and Ir(iii) in the intermediate product. The appearance of Ir-N frequencies demonstrates a ligand exchange between cations and the [IrCl6]<SUP>2−</SUP> anion. Salts with Cr(iii), Ru(iii), and Rh(iii) show a much lower exothermal effect due to the stability of their oxidation states. Salts with Rh(iii) and Ir(iii) demonstrate a high thermal stability and a low tendency for ligand exchange as well as decomposition with exothermal effects.</P>

        Background: Despite of the gained results in diagnostics and treatment of community- acquired pneumonias (CAP) the pneumococcal infection remains one of the leadingproblems of the modern medicine. Also there are still some discussions in epidemiological peculiarities of pneumococcal CAP in different age groups. The aim was to defi ne role of S. pneumoniae in ethiology. Methods: Our patients with confirmed CAP (400 patients) were divided on 4 age groups of 1-5 years, 6-15 years, adults (18-54), aged adults (55Results: pneumococcus was the leading pathogen in all age groups, and it was the most frequent in 1-5 children (42%), 6-15 (30%), 18-54 (35%), >55 years (60%). In some cases it was defi ned in association with the Chlamydia pneumophilla, Mycoplasma pneumonia and Haemophilus infi uenzae. The resistance of pneumcoocci to macrolides was in all groups, and it was connected with the spread of the mefE and ermB determinants, and there were only 12 penicilline resistant strains. The isolates were distributed among four major serotypes: 23F, 14, 18C, 6B. MLST (30 isolates) showed the spread of sequence types 90, 189, 240 and some others. Conclusions: Pneumococci remains the leading pathogen causing CAP in all age groups, and the epidemiological surveillance with molecular epidemiology study should be the fi rst step for preventive measures and the spread of the pneumococcal vaccines (e. g. Prevnar) among population.

        Современные учебники РКИ: опыт анализа

        The article represents the experience in the analysis of modern textbooks of Russian as a foreign language. We selected multiple analysis criteria to be taken into account in the choice of textbooks: the national focus, the use of translation, compliance the tutorial with the declared level. The article points out that modern educational system brings to the fore not create separate textbooks and workbooks, but creating teaching materials. The article classifies textbooks in accordance with the usage of translation and estimates translation as an effective additional mean of teaching. The usage of translation is regarded in compliance with the level of language. The effectiveness of translation usage in communicative language teaching is mentioned. It is also stated that for the students of South-Eastern Region the translation to native language is more preferable than the translation to mediator language. The textbooks for different kinds of students are regarded in the article: both for university students and for businessmen. It is also mentioned the possibility of using the same textbooks in verbal environment and without it but in case of lack of environment the teaching should be more nationally oriented. Teaching in mononational and polynational groups is also one of the points. It is also specially stated that modern foreign language teaching should be level – oriented specially in textbooks. The article points out that modern educational system brings to the fore not create separate textbooks and workbooks, but creating teaching materials. They have many aspects and many variants. The possibility of usage of paper video electronic bearers in modern teaching materials noticeably increases the effectiveness in forming of speech skills.

      • Dynamic Changes in the Copy Number of Pluripotency and Cell Proliferation Genes in Human ESCs and iPSCs during Reprogramming and Time in Culture

        <P><B>Summary</B></P><P>Genomic stability is critical for the clinical use of human embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells. We performed high-resolution SNP (single-nucleotide polymorphism) analysis on 186 pluripotent and 119 nonpluripotent samples. We report a higher frequency of subchromosomal copy number variations in pluripotent samples compared to nonpluripotent samples, with variations enriched in specific genomic regions. The distribution of these variations differed between hESCs and hiPSCs, characterized by large numbers of duplications found in a few hESC samples and moderate numbers of deletions distributed across many hiPSC samples. For hiPSCs, the reprogramming process was associated with deletions of tumor-suppressor genes, whereas time in culture was associated with duplications of oncogenic genes. We also observed duplications that arose during a differentiation protocol. Our results illustrate the dynamic nature of genomic abnormalities in pluripotent stem cells and the need for frequent genomic monitoring to assure phenotypic stability and clinical safety.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P><P>► hESCs and hiPSCs show more gene copy number variation than somatic cells ► Degree of abnormality differs more between hESC lines than hiPSC lines ► Deletions common in hiPSCs after reprogramming, duplications appear over time ► Recurrent duplications occur at specific genomic loci in pluripotent cells</P>
