In this work, Sr0⋅5Zr2(PO4)3-SmPO4 dual-phase ceramics were prepared via in-situ synthesis process, which is a potential novel nuclear waste form for immobilizing the fission product 90Sr and the trivalent actinide radionuclides in high-level waste (HLW). And the preparation technology, microstructure and chemical durability of Sr0⋅5Zr2(PO4)3-SmPO4 dual-phase ceramics were systematically investigated. It was confirmed that the optimum microwave-sintering temperature (1050 ◦C) and heat preservation time (1.5 h) is estimated by Archimedes method. Besides, the as-prepared samples that were consisted of strontium zirconium phosphate (SrZP) and monazite showed the remarkable densification, in which the two crystalline phases were intermixed well with each other. Meanwhile, the formation and evolution of microstructure was also consistent with the variational rule of Sr0⋅5Zr2(PO4)3/SmPO4, indicating that there was not mutual reaction during the in-situ synthesis process. The PCT and MCC-1 experimental results demonstrated that the elemental normalized leaching rates of tested samples are all at a low level (LRSr ~10 4 g‧m 2‧d 1, LRZr ~10 8-10 6 g‧m 2‧d 1, LRSm ~10 7-10 5 g‧m 2‧d 1 and LRP ~10 4 g‧m 2‧d 1). It is indicated that Sr0⋅5Zr2(PO4)3-SmPO4 dual-phase ceramics possesses excellent chemical durability for HLW disposal.

Leaf-rolling weevils (Coleoptera: Atelabidae) are considered to be specialists that oviposit only on one or two plant species. However, Apoderus dimidiatus can oviposit on at least five species. We aimed to determine whether A. dimidiatus females have different preferences for oviposition substrates, and whether differences in physical factors, nutrition and parasitism affected their choices. We observed the number of cradles, hatched larvae, pupae, emerging adults and parasitism rate during one breeding season. Weevils were given access to two host plant species, Rosa multiflora and Rubus ichangensis, and the leaf size and nutrient contents of the two plant species were investigated. We found that nutritional content, especially soluble carbohydrate, correlated with oviposition preference of weevils, and the more nutritious plant species, R. multiflora, was the preferred host in our experiment. Weevils can also use Ru. ichangensis and other plant species as hosts, likely to relieve the high parasitic pressure when laying eggs on a single host species.

Bi-functionalized lignin with amino and sulfonic groups (ASL) was synthesized via Mannich reaction andsulfomethylation. It was systematically characterized by FT-IR, element analysis, surface charge and XPS. Effects of initial pH, contact time and initial metal ion concentration on the adsorption of Cu(II) and Pb(II)onto ALS were studied. Results indicated that the biosorbent showed excellent performance for metalseven from low pH solutions. The adsorption kinetics and isotherms could be described well with Pseudosecond-order and D–R model, respectively. Further investigation of the metal-loaded ASL by FT-IR andXPS elucidated the amino and sulfonic groups reacted with metals in different way.
