The mineral hydroxyapatite is very common species in secondary phosphates originating from guanos(HILL et at., 1997). Several mineralogical analyses of spelean hydroxyapatite exist(e.g., KASHIMA, 1968, 1979 ; MAKI et at., 1977 ; SUH et at., 1978 ; WANG, 1982 a, b), whereas detailedeochemical composition of secondary hydroxy apatites has not been reported in Japan.(omitted)
A Note on Biogenic Effects of Coralloid Speleothems in Round Mountain Lava Cave, Oregon, U.S.A.

Corralloid speleothems from Round Mountain lave cave are are studied by scanning microscope and electron microprobe analyses. Scanning microscopy observation indicates that the diatom Melosira seems to contribute significantly to siliceous coralloid speleothems Electron microprobe confirms the presence of diatom and fragmental minerals(plagioclase and orthopyroxene) in coralloid speleothems. Chemical analysis of 3 diatom cells gives SiO2(74.8%), Al2O3(0.12%), FeO(0.11%), CaO(0.47%) and MgO(0.81%).

We propose an optimization approach to weak approximation of Levy-driven stochastic differential equations. We employ a mathematical progrmming framework to obtain numerically upper and lower bound estimates of the target expectation, where the optimization procedure ends up with a polynomial programming problem. An advantage of our approach is that all we need is a closed form of the Levy measure, not the exact simulation knowledge of the increments or of a shot noise representation for the time discretization approximation. Whe present numerical examples of the computation of the moments, as well as the European call option premium, of the Doleans-Dade exponential model.
