Kang Zhou,Lilong Cai 전력전자학회 2015 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.15 No.4
In this paper, an algorithm based on a model analysis of the online calculation of the root-mean-square (RMS) value of welding current for single-phase AC resistance spot welding (RSW) was developed. The current is highly nonlinear and typically non-sinusoidal, which makes the measuring and controlling actions difficult. Though some previous methods focused on this issue, they were so complex that they could not be effectively used in general cases. The electrical model of a single-phase AC RSW was analyzed, and then an algorithm for online calculation of the RMS value of the welding current was presented. The description includes two parts, a model-dependent part and a model-independent part. Using a previous work about online measurement of the power factor angle, the first part can be solved. For the second part, although the solution of the governing equation can be directly obtained, a lot of CPU time must be consumed due to the fact that it involves a lot of complex calculations. Therefore, a neural network was employed to simplify the calculations. Finally, experimental results and a corresponding analysis showed that the proposed algorithm can obtain the RMS values with a high precision while consuming less time when compared to directly solving the equations.

TransNav: spatial sequential transformer network for visual navigation
Zhou Kang,Zhang Huyin,Li Fei 한국CDE학회 2022 Journal of computational design and engineering Vol.9 No.5
Visual navigation task is to steer an embodied agent finding the given target based on observation. The effective transformer from observation of the agent to visual representation determines the navigation actions and promotes more informed navigation policy. In this work, we propose a spatial sequential transformer network (SSTNet) for learning informative visual representation in deep reinforcement learning. SSTNet is composed by spatial attention probability fused model (SAF) and sequential transformer network (STNet). SAF enforces cross-modal state into visual clues in reinforcement learning. It encodes semantic information about observed objects, as well as spatial information about their location, which jointly exploiting image inter-relations. STNet generates (imagines) the next observations and makes action inference of the aspects most relevant to the target. It decodes the image intra-relations. This way, the agent learns to understand the causality between navigation actions and dynamic changes in observations. SSTNet is conditioned on an auto-regressive model on the desired reward, past states, actions, and knowledge graph. The whole navigation framework considers the local and global visual information, as well as time sequential information. Thus, it allows the agent to navigate towards the sought-after object effectively. We evaluate our model on the AI2THOR framework show that our method attains at least $10\%$ improvement of average success rate over most state-of-the-art models. Anti-Fatigue Effects of Fermented Rhodiola rosea Extract in Mice
Kang, Dong-Zhou,Hong, Hee-Do,Kim, Kyung-Im,Choi, Sang Yoon The Korean Society of Food Science and Nutrition 2015 Preventive Nutrition and Food Science Vol.20 No.1
Rhodiola rosea is a perennial plant which grows in the alpine regions of Europe and Asia. Although the protective effects of R. rosea extract from fatigue due to exercise stress have been reported, studies on fermented R. rosea extract remain insufficient to date. Therefore, this study was conducted to examine the protective effects of fermented R. rosea extract against fatigue and exercise stress. As a result, fermented R. rosea extract was found to significantly increase swimming time, hepatic superoxide dismutase content, and serum lactate dehydrogenase in mice, while decreasing serum blood urea nitrogen content compared to R. rosea extract. Given the above results, it is considered that fermented R. rosea extract effectively protects against fatigue caused by strenuous exercise.

Effects of Fermented Ginseng Extracts on Tumor Metastasis in Mice
Dong Zhou Kang,Dan Liu,Seon Yoong Jo,강태봉,Jin Moo Lee,서형주,Ae-jung Kim,윤택준 한국식품과학회 2010 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.19 No.6
This study was demonstrated that the fermentation of gingseng increases its biological activities,by comparing the anti-tumor and immunostimulating activities of fermented gingseng extracts (FginE) with those of non-fermented ginseng (GinE). In the experimental lung metastasis of colon26-M3.1 carcinoma, the intraperitoneal (i.p.) or peroral (p.o.) administration of FginE showed stronger anti-tumor metastatic activities than those of GinE. When stimulating 2 kinds of extract on macrophages,FginE was shown to have a higher production of interleukin (IL)-12 than GinE. In addition, treatment with FginE induced tumoricidal activity of peritoneal macrophages against colon26-M3.1 cells. When Peyer's patch was cocultured with FginE, the proliferation of these cells and granulocyte macrophage-colony stimulating factor (GMCSF)production were induced. In an assay for natural killer (NK) cell activity, an i.p. administration of FginE significantly augmented NK cytotoxicity against Yac-1tumor cells. Fermented ginseng extracts promotes antitumor activities to inhibit tumor metastasis, and its antitumor effects are associated with the enhancement of systemic as well as mucosal immune systems.

BACKGROUND: Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUCMSCs) have emerged as promising therapy for immune and inflammatory diseases. However, how to maintain the activity and unique properties during cold storage and transportation is one of the key factors affecting the therapeutic efficiency of hUCMSCs. Schisandrin B (SchB) has many functions in cell protection as a natural medicine. In this study, we investigated the protective effects of SchB on the hypothermic preservation of hUCMSCs. METHODS: hUCMSCs were isolated from Wharton’s jelly. Subsequently, hUCMSCs were exposed to cold storage (4 C) and 24-h re-warming. After that, cells viability, surface markers, immunomodulatory effects, reactive oxygen species (ROS), mitochondrial integrity, apoptosis-related and antioxidant proteins expression level were evaluated. RESULTS: SchB significantly alleviated the cells injury and maintained unique properties such as differentiation potential, level of surface markers and immunomodulatory effects of hUCMSCs. The protective effects of SchB on hUCMSCs after hypothermic storage seemed associated with its inhibition of apoptosis and the anti-oxidative stress effect mediated by nuclear factor erythroid 2–related factor 2 signaling. CONCLUSION: These results demonstrate SchB could be used as an agent for hypothermic preservation of hUCMSCs.
