Synthesis and characterization of hydrothermally grown potassium titanate nanowires
Derya Kapusuz,Y. Eren Kalay,박종이,Abdullah Ozturk 한양대학교 세라믹연구소 2015 Journal of Ceramic Processing Research Vol.16 No.3
Potassium titanate (KT) nanowires were synthesized by a one-step hydrothermal reaction between TiO2 and aqueous KOH solution. The effects of KOH concentration and reaction time on hydrothermal formation and KT nanowire growth were investigated. The nanowire growth mechanism was elucidated using a combined study of powder X-ray diffraction, and scanning and transmission electron microscopy. The results revealed that hydrothermal growth was initiated by the formation of amorphous-like Ti-O-K sheets in anatase. Increasing hydrothermal reaction time caused the transformation of anatase to Ti-O-K sheets, from which potassium hexa-titanate (K2Ti6O13) nuclei formed and grew to establish one-dimensional morphology through preferential growth along the b-axis. It was revealed that the hydrothermal reactions followed a quite different mechanism than the well-known calcination route. Potassium tetra-titanate (K2Ti4O9) crystals formed in the amorphous region using the hexa-titanate phase as a nucleation site for heterogeneous crystallization. Increasing the KOH concentration in the solution accelerated the hydrothermal reaction rate.

This study is to make an investigation into new technology of America which is developing since 2007. According to this synthesis, there is purpose that analyze direction of application for the Museum of Future and the plan for new technology, and then reach a small conclusion. The process of study start from theoretical survey, and grasp 70 of new technologies and methods of exhibition during 2007, divide into four classes: Technology, Context, Visitors, Activity; diagnose closeness about possibility of application, and present practical application of the Museum of Future at the conclusion. It is study results of the Museum of Future in 2007 as follows. First, the Museum of Future have to combine education, exhibition, interests, entertainment and fantasy world with new technologies. Second, new technologies after the digital revolution, will be developed by digital, ubiquitous and interaction technology, and also the concept of exhibition will grow in the same way. Third, according to enlarge from mechanical sense of digital to cyberspace, the form of museum will be changed. The past concept of exhibition that people could touch and see, combine cyberspace with imagination, will be created to the new museum.

The immune response to dengue virus (DENV) infection is complex and not fully understood. Using longitudinal data from 181 children with dengue in Thailand who were followed for up to 3 years, we describe neutralizing antibody kinetics following symptomatic DENV infection. We observed that antibody titers varied by serotype, homotypic vs heterotypic responses, and primary versus postprimary infections. The rates of change in antibody titers over time varied between primary and postprimary responses. For primary infections, titers increased from convalescence to 6 months. By comparing homotypic and heterotypic antibody titers, we saw an increase in type specificity from convalescence to 6 months for primary DENV3 infections but not primary DENV1 infections. In postprimary cases, there was a decrease in titers from convalescence up until 6 months after infection. Beginning 1 year after both primary and postprimary infections, there was evidence of increasing antibody titers, with greater increases in children with lower titers, suggesting that antibody titers were boosted due to infection and that higher levels of neutralizing antibody may be more likely to confer a sterilizing immune response. These findings may help to model virus transmission dynamics and provide baseline data to support the development of vaccines and therapeutics.
