<P>LiAl5O8 doped with Fe was synthesized by a propellant combustion route at furnace temperature of 773 K. The phosphor was characterized using powder x-ray diffraction, optical absorption, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and photoluminescence spectroscopic techniques. The optical absorption spectrum exhibits a broad band at 242 nm characteristic of charge transfer between Fe3+-O2-. On excitation with 293 nm, emission band for the Fe3+ ion was observed at 687 nm. The CIE (International Commission on Illumination or Commission Internationale de l'Elcairage) coordinates for the system were evaluated adopting standard procedure which suggested that the system can be effective as a deep red emitting phosphor. The EPR spectrum of this phosphor exhibits a number of resonance signals characteristic of Fe3+ ions. The resonance signals at g = 3.16, 2.27 are attributed to Fe3+ present at tetrahedral site with an axial symmetry. The resonance signals at g = 1.98 and 1.43 are attributed to Fe3+ ions in octahedral site with an axial symmetry. Various EPR parameters such as the number of spins, Gibbs free energy, magnetic susceptibility, Curie constant and effective magnetic moment values are calculated and compared at room temperature and 110 K.</P>
Self-standing polyvinyl chloride film as flexible substrate for WSe2 based photodetector

Self-standing polymer materials have gained recognition as a flexible substrate for various optoelectronic devices. Here, we incorporated polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with tungsten diselenide (WSe2) microcrystals. The WSe2 microcrystals are added to PVC by solution mixing process. The WSe2-PVC composite film possess excellent flexibility, electrical conductivity of 20 kΩsq-1 at room temperature, high photoresponsivity of 0.3310 mAW-1, detectivity of 1.527 x 109 Jones and external quantum efficiency up to 8.7%. The free-standing WSe2-PVC photodetectors show durability and reproducibility even after 7 months and show stable photoresponse in the bent state. The visible light WSe2-PVC photodetector is sensitive to different monochromatic radiations (470 nm, 540 nm and 670 nm) and demonstrates potential applications in next-generation wearable optoelectronic devices.

In this paper, we consider some problems on coincidence point and fixed point theorems for multi-valued mappings. Applying the characterizations of P-functions, we establish some new existence theorems for coincidence point and fixed point distinct from Nadler's fixed point theorem, Berinde-Berinde's fixed point theorem, Mizoguchi-Takahashi's fixed point theorem and Du's fixed point theorem for nonlinear multi-valued contractive mappings in complete metric spaces. Our results compliment and extend the main results given by some authors in the literature. In the sequel, we consider a nonconvex integral inclusion and prove the Filippov type existence theorem by using an appropriate norm on the space of selection of a multi-function and a multi-valued contraction for set-valued mappings.

It was the turning point in the "fixed point arena" when the notion of weak commutativity was introduced by Sessa [9] as a sharper tool to obtain common fixed points of mappings. As a result, all the results on fixed point theorems for commuting mappings were easily transformed in the setting of the new notion of weak commutativity of mappings. It gives a new impetus to the studying of common fixed points of mappings satisfying some contractive type conditions and a number of interesting results have been found by various authors. A bulk of results were produced and it was the centre of vigorous research activity in "Fixed Point Theory and its Application in various other Branches of Mathematical Sciences" in last two decades. A major break through was done by Jungck [3] when he proclaimed the new notion what he called "compatibility" of mapping and its usefulness for obtaining common fixed points of mappings was shown by him. There-after a flood of common fixed point theorems was produced by various researchers by using the improved notion of compatibility of mappings. of compatibility of mappings.

The study assessed the effect of dietary supplementation of leaf meal mixture (LMM) containing condensed tannins (CT) on feed intake, nutrient utilization and performance of sheep infected with Haemonchus contortus. Eighteen adult sheep of similar age and body weight ($25.03{\pm}1.52$) were included in this study and out of these, 12 sheep were infected with single dose of infective third stage larvae of H. contortus at 2,000 larvae per sheep. The experimental sheep were allocated in three different groups' i.e. negative control (NC; no infection), control (C; H. contortus infected) and treatment (T; H. contortus infected+CT at 1.5% of the DM through LMM) and the experiment was conducted for a period of 90 d. The intake of dry matter (DM), organic matter (OM) and digestibility of DM, OM, neutral detergent fibre (NDF) and acid detergent fibre (ADF) were comparable among three animal groups. However, digestibility of crude protein (CP) and ether extract (EE) were significantly (p<0.05) higher in NC group as compared to both C and T groups. Nitrogen (N) retention (g/d or % of N intake) was significantly (p = 0.038) lower in C group as compared to T and NC groups. Daily intake (g/kg $W^{0.75}$) of digestible crude protein (DCP), digestible organic matter (DOM) and total digestible nutrient (TDN) did not differ significantly (p<0.05) in the three groups. Haemoglobin (Hb) and packed cell volume (PCV) were significantly (p<0.001) higher in treatment group as compared to control. The level of Hb and PCV reduced (p<0.001) after 30 days of experimental feeding. CT significantly (p<0.001) reduced serum urea in T group as compared to NC and C groups. Serum proteins differed significantly (p<0.01) among the three groups. The activity of serum enzymes AST, ALT, ALP and LDH were also statistically non significant (p<0.05) among treatments. The weight of abomasal lymph nodes (ALN) in T group was higher (p<0.05) than in C group. Treatment group had lower (p<0.05) total worms and fecal egg count compared to control group. It may be concluded that dietary supplementation of CT through LMM significantly improved the N retention, and inhibited the different developmental stages of Haemonchus contortus in experimental sheep.

The notion of probabilistic metric spaces (or statistical metric spaces) was introduced and studied by Menger [19] which is a generalization of metric space, and the study of these spaces was expanede rapidly with the pioneering works of Schweizer-Sklar [25]-[26]. The theory of probabilistic metric spaces is of fundamental importance in probabilistic function analysis. For the detailed discussions of these spaces and their applications, we refer to [9], [10], [28], [30]-[32], [36] and [39].
High sensitivity charge detection and dephasing in edge state interferometer

We present an interferometry model of high sensitivity and high efficiency charge detectors in the integer quantum Hall regime. We show that the charge sensitivity in Fabry-Perot interferometer is higher than a Mach-Zehnder interferometer due to multiple reflections of electrons at quantum point contacts. We report the possibility of tuning Fabry-Perot interferometer for quantum limited detection for two quantum point contacts having different reflection probabilities. For systems with one quantum point contact and with two point contacts, we discuss improvement in sensitivity using electrons in spin entangled singlet pairs, injected through identically biased input terminals.

Organic farming is an emerging area for crop and livestock production, processing, marketing, trade and consumption, and, therefore, for research all over the world. In developed countries it has made significant inroads but the developing countries especially the Asian countries are in the stage of conception only, as far as organic livestock production is concerned. Some Latin American countries have started exporting organic meat products to developed countries. In such a scenario, information needed in the area of organic livestock production has increased significantly. This paper reviews the developments so far and prospects for future for organic meat production in Asian countries.
