Japanese Films Widening Choices in Korean Film Market

The annual audience in Korea has exceeded 100 million since 2012, and the number has exceeded 200 million since 2013. Although audiences are watching many films, most of those films are Korean and American films and entertaining commercial films. A great number of Japanese films have been released in Korea since 1998 the year of implementing the policy on opening to Japanese popular culture. Despite the audiences’ recognition for Japanese films as an art film at the beginning of opening, various Japanese films including animation movies, teen films, fantasy movies, horror movies and art films were released in Korea. After ups and downs at the box office, Japanese films are going to have a new leap in Korean market. Japanese films are overcoming the preconception that Japanese films are “art films for film festivals” or the misconception that Japanese films are “animation movies for children” and confidently becoming a part of communication with audiences through a screen in Korean film market. Especially, Japanese films start contributing to diversity of films in Korean film industry bombarded with commercial films which are entertaining. At the point of facing 20th anniversary of the Korean policy on opening to Japanese popular culture, Japanese films have a positive influence on Korean film industry.
Progress in R&D of coated conductor in M-PACC project

The five-year national project in Japan for R&D of coated conductors and applications, named as the Materials and Power Applications of Coated Conductors (M-PACC) project, was finished at the end of FY2013. The project consists of four sub-themes as cable, transformer, SMES and coated conductors. In the theme of coated conductors, the fabrication process had been developed to satisfy the requirements from the applications such as in-field $I_c$ performance, low AC loss in the long tapes etc. Through the project, the remarkable progress was achieved as follows; a high in-field minimum $I_c$ value over 54A/cm-width under 3T at 77K was realized in a 200m long EuBCO tape with artificial pinning centers of $BaHfO_3$ by the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique on the IBAD template. On the other hand, the AC loss reduction was confirmed in the tapes fabricated by both PLD and the metal organic deposition (MOD) techniques by scribing 100m tapes into 10-filamments. Additionally, the mechanism of the delamination phenomenon was systematically investigated and the strength was improved by eliminating the origins of the weak points in the films. Through the development, all targeted goals were accomplished and the several results were appreciated as a world champion data.
The Perception on the Islam in Modern Japanese Society

That perception of the Islam, which is based mainly on the media coverage of the extreme Islamist or Jihadist groups, is at all time strong since IS killed two Japanese hostages in January and February 2015. However, the image of the Islam among the ordinary Japanese is not changeless. It has been made from a lot of different elements; realities found in the Islamic society, media reports covering the Middle East, education in the school and university based on the academic achievement of the Middles East and Islamic studies, exchanges with the region through the diplomacy, trade, culture, tourism, and so on. Therefore, the image changes according as changes of those elements. The results of those surveys were worse than the conductors’ pre-estimate. Major proportion of the students who answered the ‘backward’, ‘rigid doctrine’, ‘intolerant’, ‘unfree’, ‘aggressive, horrible’, ‘mysterious’, and ‘strange customs’ as factors that the word of Islam.
Microwave Dielectric Absorption Spectroscopy Aiming at Novel Dosimetry Using DNAs

Background: We are developing L-band and S-band microwave dielectric absorption systems aiming novel dosimetry using DNAs, such as plasmid DNA and genomic DNA, and microwave technology. Materials and Methods: Each system is composed of a cavity resonator, analog signal generator, circulator, power meter, and oscilloscope. Since the cavity resonator is sensitive to temperature change, we have made great efforts to prevent the fluctuation of temperature. We have developed software for controlling and measurement. Results and Discussion: By using this system, we can measure the resonance frequency, f, and ${\Delta}Q$ (Q is a dimensionless parameter that describes how under-damped an oscillator or resonator is, and characterizes a resonator's bandwidth relative to its center frequency) within about 3 minutes with high accuracy. Conclusion: This system will be expected to be applicable to DNAs evaluations and to novel dosimetric system.
Stability Analysis of Nonlinear Systems via Locally Defined Density Functions

This paper considers local stability analysis of nonlinear systems with deriving a positively in variant set based on Rantzer’s stability theory byuing density functions. We define notion of locally defined density functions around an equilibrium that give monotonously increasing positive measures near the equilibrim of an onlinear system. Under several assumptions, it is shown that some level set of alocally defined density function is apositively in variant set where almost all of the system trajectories converge to the equilibrium.
Corrosion Behavior of Rapidly Solidified Mg-Zn-Y Alloys in NaCl Solution

Compositional dependence of corrosion behavior of rapidly solidified Mg-rich Mg-Zn-Y alloys in NaCl aqueous solution has been investigated. Mg-Zn-Y ternary alloys containing small amounts of Zn exhibited low corrosion rate, although the (at. %) binary alloy showed severe corrosion with violet evolution of hydrogen. The alloy with highest corrosion-resistance was , its corrosion rate was about 1 mm year-1 in 0.17 M (1.0 wt. %) NaCl solution. alloy exhibited passive region in anodic polarization curves when immersed in NaCl solution. Rapidly solidification and small amount of Zn addition may bring about an increase in electrochemical homogeneity of Mg-Zn-Y alloys, resulting in enhancement of corrosion resistance.
