<P>OBJECTIVES: Validation of blood pressure measurement devices is always difficult because the gold standard method depends on the observer's manual assessment. To improve the assessment algorithm in automatic blood pressure measurement devices, knowing the reference blood pressure values and analyzing various data are always necessary. A digital system to record Korotkoff sound and cuff pressure is suggested. METHODS: The recording system consists of cuff, microphone, amplifier, and all the components of an oscillometric measurement device, which enable the collection of various data from patients. After collecting the data, the browsing software can playback the recorded sound and pressure variation on a computer. RESULTS: The system records the Korotkoff sound faithfully. The sound can be played with sound card on a personal computer. Cuff pressure can also be displayed with Korotkoff sound at the same time. With this playback software, the observer can assess systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure . The observer can listen again and discuss with others when the decision is not clear. CONCLUSION: The digital recording system of sphygmomanometry can be used for validation of blood pressure measurement devices, collecting of oscillometric data for research, and educating the students who learn blood pressure measurement.</P>

약물을 환자에게 장시간 주입할 때 주입량과 속도를 적절히 조절하는 것이 중요하다. 부적절한 약물투여는 환자의 회복에 악영향을 미칠 수 있으므로 인퓨전 점프시스템의 신뢰도 확보는 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 수액주사세트에 의존하지 않는 인퓨전 점프 시스템과 제어 알고리즘을 제안한다. 드롭센서로 포토어레이가 선택되었다. 실험 결과에 따르면 포토어레이가 다른 종류의 센서에 비해 높은 신뢰도를 보였다. 개발된 시스템은 인퓨전 펌프 시스템의 국산화에 기여할 수 있으며 제안한 알고리즘은 다른 유량 제어 시스템에도 이용될 수 있을 것이다. When we inject drug^tuffs to a patient for a long time, it is important to control proper injection amount and flow rate. Since inproper injection amount and a flow rate would cause bad to recove of a patient, the relience of infusion pump system is important. In this research, we've developed an infusion pump system and control algorithm not dependable to Ⅳsets. We chose photo array for drop sensors. According to the experiments, the photo array showed the higher reliance than any other the three types of sensors. The developed systems could be the foundation of beginning home production of infusion pump system and available for flow rate control systems.

Pulse arrival time (PAT) and PPG morphological features have attracted much interest in cuffless blood pressure (BP) estimation,but their effects are not clearly understood when vascular characteristics are affected by diseases such as diabetes. This work quantitatively analyzes the effect of diabetic disease on the PAT and PPG morphological features-based BP estimation. We selected 112 diabetic patients and 308 non-diabetic subjects from VitalDB, and extracted 16 features includingPAT, PPG morphological features, and heart rate. BP estimation performance was statistically compared between groupsusing linear regression models with several feature sets, and the relative importance of each feature in the optimal featureset was extracted. As a result, the standard deviation of the error and mean absolute error of PAT-based BP estimation weresignificantly higher in the diabetic group than in the non-diabetic group (p < 0.01). A feature set containing PAT and PPGmorphological features achieved the best performance in both groups. However, the relative importance of each feature forBP estimation differed notably between groups. The results indicate that different features are important depending on thevascular characteristics, which could help to construct different models to accommodate specific diseases.
