        Conjoined-network induced highly tough hydrogels by using copolymer and nano-cellulose for oilfield water plugging

        Hydrogels have been widely adopted for in-depth water control in mature oilfields, however, the poormechanical properties limit their application. Herein, a conjoined-network induced hydrogel was preparedthrough the in-situ free radical copolymerization of acrylamide (AM), Acrylic acid (AA) and N,N0-methylenebis(acrylamide) (MBA) in the presence of nano-cellulose (CNF/ACNF), and the coordinationeffect between aluminium ion and carboxyl. The results showed that a small amount of nano-cellulose(0.2 %) increased the compressive strength of the hydrogel by 7 times. The presence of nano-celluloseendowed the hydrogel with excellent thermal stability and high shearing elasticity, at the same time,could effectively reduced the swelling rate that hindered its disintegration in practical application. Theevaluation of sand-pack plugging suggested that the double cross-linked nano-cellulose hydrogel presenteda significant capacity for efficient water plugging, where the breakthrough pressure gradientwas as high as 23.73 MPa, the plugging rate reached 99.9%, and the maximum residual resistance factorwas 3902.06. This work provided a novel design of hydrogel with high compressive strength and satisfactorystability for water shutoff and conformance control in heterogeneous oil reservoirs.

      • Weld Seam Recognition Based On CCD Image Processing

        Weld seam recognition is the key technique in visual tracking research. Based on the weld image features, the image preprocessing and the linear feature extraction method of the weld seam recognition are designed. The extended adaptive median filtering method and modified Otsu adaptive threshold selection method for image segmentation are used in the image pre-processing process, to remove the noise and compress the image data. Through comparing with several other edge operators, the Roberts operator is chosen to achieve the goal of detecting the welding edge. Finally, the weld seam information is extracted through Hough transform and a satisfied result can be acquired. The study provides a theoretical support for the following designing of the weld tracking system.

        Hotel service convergence innovation

        Industry convergence has taken place in many different fields, making it a hot research topic. There are studies on industry convergence in the manufacturing industry, the food and pharmaceutical industries, and between manufacturing and services industries. The hospitality industry provides lodging and catering services, which provides a great platform to integrate multiple industries in order to enhance customer experience. However, there has been little focus on industry convergence in the hospitality or hotel industries. Therefore, a better understanding of service convergence innovation from both a systematic and a holistic perspective are needed. The result showed that in order to form effective mechanisms for coordination and integration of service, it was necessary to use systematic digital information technology, which could transfer practical experience into a standardized demonstrable learning database system. The implication of this study is that the illustrations on the factors as well as contexts to foster service convergence practices could facilitate managerial endeavors by hospitality business professionals. Appropriate incentive mechanisms which leverage as well as motivate partnership endeavors should be the core aligning individuals and organization goal instead of imposing regulative order.

        ATTRACTORS OF LOCAL SEMIFLOWS ON TOPOLOGICAL SPACES

        In this paper we introduce a notion of an attractor for local semiflows on topological spaces, which in some cases seems to be more suitable than the existing ones in the literature. Based on this notion we develop a basic attractor theory on topological spaces under appropriate separation axioms. First, we discuss fundamental properties of attractors such as maximality and stability and establish some existence results. Then, we give a converse Lyapunov theorem. Finally, the Morse decomposition of attractors is also addressed.

      • A Three-phase Large Scale Skyline Service Selection Framework in Clouds

        For the large scale services with high-dimensional QoS attributes and distributed environment, traditional service selection approaches are faced with unprecedented challenges in terms of efficiency and performance of QoS. To address these challenges, we propose a three-phase large scale Skyline service selection framework for service composition in clouds. This framework adopts distributed parallel Skyline computation with MapReduce to prune redundant candidate services, and employs parallel multi-objective optimization algorithm based on MapReduce to select Skyline services from the tremendous amount of Skyline services warehouse for composing single service into a set of more powerful Skyline composite services, then applies Top-k query processing technology or multiple attribute decision making support method to select k Skyline composite services from the set of Skyline composite services. Through theoretical analysis, the framework can efficiently solve the service selection problem with large scale services, high-dimensional QoS in cloud computing environment, and quickly generate better composite services with the global optimal QoS.

        Distinct Inflammatory Profiles in Atopic and Nonatopic Patients With Chronic Rhinosinustis Accompanied by Nasal Polyps in Western China

        Purpose: The role of systemic sensitization in the pathophysiology of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) remains elusive. This study sought to characterize the pattern of cytokines in polyp tissues from atopic and nonatopic patients with CRSwNP. Methods: Atopic and nonatopic polyp and normal tissues were collected from 70 CRSwNP patients and 26 control subjects, respectively. The distribution of inflammatory cells (eosinophils, neutrophils, mast cells, etc.) were examined using immunohistochemistry, the mRNA levels of the transcription factors GATA-3, T-bet, RORc, and FOXP3 were determined using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. The levels of inflammatory mediators (IFN-γ, IL-5, IL- 17A, etc.) in tissue homogenates were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Moreover, the levels of inflammatory mediators in the supernatant of anti-IgE stimulated polyp tissues were measured using ELISA. Results: Atopic CRSwNP patients were characterized by increased eosinophil accumulation, enhanced eosinophilic inflammation (elevated IL-5, ECP, and total IgE), and significantly increased GATA-3 mRNA levels (P<0.05), whereas both atopic and non-atopic CRSwNP patients showed decreased FOXP3 mRNA expression (P<0.05). After addition of anti- IgE stimulation, atopic CRSwNP patients produced more IL-5, IL-2, IL-10, IL-17A, and PGD2 in the supernatant of stimulated polyp tissues than nonatopic CRSwNP patients did. Conclusions: Atopic and nonatopic CRSwNP patients may possess the patterns of inflammatory response in polyp tissues.

        Cuprum Metal-Organic-Framework and Polyacrylonitrile-Derived Cu-N-C Electrocatalyst for Application in Zinc-Air Batteries

        Cu-N-C electrocatalyst was successfully prepared with Cu-BTC and polyacrylonitrile as templates by electrospinning and in-situ growth method. The effect of various N-doped content on the electrochemical performance of the catalyst were investigated and the Cu-N-C-0.25 exhibited the best OER/ORRcatalytic activities. When it was applied to the cathode of the zinc-air batteries, the power density of Cu-N-C-0.25 was 209.1 mW cm -2, which exceeded that of the commercial Pt/C + IrO2 hybrid catalyst (157 mW cm -2). The excellent electrochemical performance may be attributed to large number of active sites and high specific surface area on Cu-N-C electrocatalyst. It will be a promising alternative to precious metal catalysts containing Pt, Ir or Ru and their oxides.

        Anomalous Ferromagnetism and Electron Microscopy Characterization of High-Quality Neodymium Oxychlorides Nanocrystals

        High-quality neodymium oxychlorides nanocrystals with cubic shape were synthesized by a nonhydrolytic thermolysis route. The morphology and crystal structure of the neodymium oxychlorides nanocubes were characterized by transmission electron microscopy at the nanoscale. Transmission electron microscope (TEM) image shows that the neodymium oxychlorides nanocrystals are nearly monodispersed with cube-like shape. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and selected area electron diffraction (SAED) patterns of numerous neodymium oxychlorides nanocubes suggest a pure crystal phase with tetragonal PbFCl matlockite structure. HRTEM image of individual neodymium oxychlorides nanocubes indicate that each nanocubes have a singlecrystalline nature with high quality. Unlike the anti-ferromagnetism of the bulk, the neodymium oxychlorides nanocubes show clearly anomalous ferromagnetic characteristic at room temperature. This finding provides a new platform for the exploration of diluted magnetic semiconductors, rare earth-based nanomaterials and so on.
