Damage Mechanism of Broad-narrow Joint of CRTSII Slab Track under Temperature Rise

        Xiaokai Liu,Wenhao Zhang,Jieling Xiao,Xueyi Liu,Wei Li 대한토목학회 2019 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.23 No.5

There is two typical damage pattern at broad-narrow joint of CRTSII slab track breakage of narrow joint and fracture at junction between broad joint and narrow joint. This paper aims to study the damage mechanism and develop of broad-narrow joint of CRTSII slab track and put forward the methods to reduce the damage. Based on damaged plasticity model for concrete and cohesive zone model, the damage mechanism and development process of broad-narrow joint are analyzed in this study. The unequal width of broad joint and narrow joint, different concrete strength between broad-narrow joints and slab and slab integrity reducing due to the interface are the main reason for the typical damage. It is suggested to set the same width of broad joint and narrow joint, set the same strength of broad-narrow joint and slab and enhance the integrity of the slab by chipping or adding adhesives, among which the former two methods are more effective. Breakage of narrow joint is a gradual compression damage due to the lower concrete strength than slab. Fracture at the junction between narrow joint and broad joint is a mutational tension damage due to the unequal width of broad joint and narrow joint. The temperature gradient has significant effect on the compression damage, but small to the tension damage, it has the risk of complete destruction under extreme conditions.

Aerodynamic design and optimization of a high-loaded axial fan stage using a curvature control method

        Jieling Li,Huanlong Chen,Yang Liu,Junli Wang,Xianqing Yang 대한기계학회 2019 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.33 No.8

This study designs and optimizes a high-loaded transonic fan stage using a curvature control method. A fan stage with a total pressure ratio of 2.49 and adiabatic efficiency of over 87 % at the design point is obtained after 3D optimizations. The geometric curvature of the blade passage has important driving and adjusting effects on the mainstream and on the flow in the boundary layer. The reasonable optimization of camber line curvature can weaken the radial secondary flow on the blade surface and decrease shock losses effectively. It can also postpone or suppress boundary layer separation by reorganizing aerodynamic load. Hence, secondary flow losses are reduced, and the overall stall margin is expanded. This method features high precision, high operability, and short design cycle, hence providing highloaded fans/compressors with new freedom to improve design ability and offering new possibility to design system development.

A Novel 5’-Uncoding Region -1248 A>G Variation of Mitofusin-2 Gene Is Associated with Hypertension in Chinese

        Zuoguang Wang,Ya Liu,Jieling Liu,Qiuli Niu,Jie Wen,Shaojun Wen,Zhaosu Wu 연세대학교의과대학 2013 Yonsei medical journal Vol.54 No.3

Purpose: Mitofusin2 gene (Mfn2, also named Hyperplasia suppressive gene, HSG) is very important in the origin and development of hypertension. However, the mechanism of Mfn2/HSG expression regulation was not uncovered. This study was designed to explore the association of a novel 5’-uncoding region (UCR) -1248 A>G variation of HSG/Mfn2 gene and hypertension. Materials and Methods: 472 healthy, normotensive subjects [normotension (NT) group], 454 prehypertensive subjects [prehypertension (PH) group] and 978 hypertensive patients [essential hypertension (EH) group] were screened for an association study between 5’-UCR -1248 A>G of Mfn2/HSG and hypertension by polymerase chain reaction and DNA sequencing after venous blood was drawn and DNA was extracted. Results: When comparing the A and G frequency in EH, PH and NT groups, in total, NT group significantly had higher A frequency than in PH group [odds ratio (OR)=1.605, confidence interval (CI) 95%=1.063-2.242, p=0.025] and EH group (OR=5.395, CI 95%=3.783-7.695, p<0.01). When subgrouped by gender, A frequency in NT group was still significantly higher than in EH group (male: OR= 4.264, CI 95%=2.780-6.543, p<0.01; female: OR=8.897, CI 95%=4.686-16.891, p<0.01), but not from PH group, either in male group or in female group. Ordinal Logistic Regression analysis showed that A>G variation was significantly related with blood pressure level (B=-1.271, Wald=40.914, CI 95%=-1.660 - -0.881, p<0.01). Conclusion: 5’-UCR -1248 A>G variation of Mfn2/HSG gene was a novel variation and may be associated with hypertension in Chinese.
