A new natural product, 3,4,8-trihydroxybenzopyranopyran-6,9-dione was isolated from the aqueous ethanolic gall extract of Tamarix aphylla (Tamaricaceae) along with the known phenolics, monodecarboxyellagic acid and brevifolin carboxylic acid as well. The structures have been established by ESI-MS, $^1H$ and $^{13}C$ NMR spectral analysis. Antiinflammatory, antipyretic and ulcerogenic activities determination for both plant (Tamarix aphylla and Phragmites australis) were carried out on aq. ethanolic of extracts.
Contribution to the Phytochemical Study of Egyptian Tamaricaceous Plants

A novel flavonol trisulphate, quercetin 7-methyl ether 3,3`,4`-tri-O-KSO₃ was isolated from the fresh leaves of Tamarix ampiexicaulis (Tamaricaceae) along with the known flavonol mono sulphates, quercetin 3-O-KSO₃ and quercetin 4`-methyl ether 3-O-KSO₃. Structures were achieved through conventional analytical methods, including electrophoretic analysis and confirmed by FAB-MS and NMR spectroscopy.

The aqueous ethanolic leaf extract of Atlanthus altissima was found to contain the new natural product, luteolin 7-O-β-(6$quot;-galloylglucopyranoside), 13, along with fourteen known phenalic metabolites (1-12, 14 and 15). Structures of all compounds (1-15) were established by conventional methods of analysis anti confirmed by FAB-MS, ¹H-and <sup>13</sup>C-NMR spectral analysis.
Unique Phenolic Sulphate Conjugates from the Flowers of Tamarix amplexicaulis

The unique sulphated phenolics, gallic acid 3-methyl ether 5-potassium sulphate, isoferulic acid 3-potassium sulphate, and ellagic acid 4,4`-dimethyl ether 3-potassium sulphate have been isolated from the flowers of Tamarix amplexicaulis Ehrenb. (Tamaricaceae). The hitherto unknown natural phenolic acid, gallic acid 3-methyl ether, together with the known phenolic, gallic acid, gallic acid 4-methyl ether, isoferulic acid, ferulic acid, ellagic acid, and ellagic acid 4,4`-dimethyl ether have been also separated and characterized. The structures were established by conventional methods, including electrophoretic analysis and confirmed by ESIMS, ¹H- and <sup>13</sup>C-NMR.
