The complexes [Pd(bpy)(Hex-dtc)]NO_3 and [Pt(bpy)(Hex-dtc)]NO_3 (bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine and Hex-dtc is hexyldithiocarbamato ligands) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and spectroscopic studies. The cytotoxicity assay of the complexes has been performed on chronic myelogenous leukemia cell line, K562, at micromolar concentration. Both complexes showed cytotoxic activity far better than that of cisplatin under the same experimental conditions. The binding parameters of the complexes with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) was investigated using UV-visible and fluorescence techniques. They show the ability of cooperatively intercalating in CT-DNA. Gel filtration studies demonstrated that platinum complex could cleave the DNA. In the interaction studies between the Pd(II) and Pt(II) complexes with CT-DNA, several binding and thermodynamic parameters have been determined, which may provide deeper insights into the mechanism of action of these types of complexes with nucleic acids.

Objectives: To evaluate the relationship between self-efficacy, general health and burnout of the staff at Shahroud University of Medical Sciences. Methods: In 2015, 249 staff at Shahroud University of Medical Sciences (from a total reference population of 520 staff members) were selected through stratified random sampling. To collect the data, Sherer self-efficacy Scale, General Health Questionnaire and Maslach Burnout Inventory were used. The collected data were analyzed through ANOVA, Pearson correlation and Chi-square tests using SPSS 16. The relationship between self-efficacy, general health and burnout (latent factors) were studied using structural equation modeling with Stata 14. Results: The mean age of participants was 36.97 ± 7.60 years, and the mean number of years work experience was 12.29 ± 7.57. The mean scores of general health, self-efficacy and burnout were 28.24 ± 11.14, 62.30 ± 9.21 and 81.67 ± 22.18, respectively. The results of the study showed a statistically significant relationship between self-efficacy and general health which equals -0.32. A statistically significant relationship also existed between burnout scores and general health scores (beta = 0.78). Conclusion: The results showed that high self-efficacy improves the general health of employees at the Shahroud University of Medical Sciences and reduces burnout. Special attention should be paid to selfefficacy in the prevention of burnout.
Locating Astragalus hypsogeton Bunge appropriate site using AHP and GIS

In order to locate Astragalus appropriate areas in Salook watershed, Iran, at the first, six main effective criteria including direction, slope, altitude, temperature, rainfall and soil texture were determined based on fields study and expert experiences. Then using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method were weighted based on questionnaire form in the expert choice 11 software, and relative importance of each criteria and their classes were calculated. Finally, obtained maps were overlaid in ArcGIS software to determine Astragalus appropriate areas. The results showed that Northern area have higher priority than other. With the most relative importance (0.5101), the heights above 1800 m the heights above 1800 m suitable sites for Astragalus spp. The three main criteria including altitude, rainfall and temperature with the weight of 0.3043, 0.2201 and 0.1550 have the most relative importance respectively and in terms of the location are in the first to third priority. In general, from the total area of Salook watershed, 553 hectares was identified as Astragalus species suitable site. This research showed that using technology and GIS and AHP and with the least cost and time, the optimal location of medicinal plants can be determined in different lands.
