이 논문은 북미에서 벌어지고 있는 종교-과학의 대화 현황에 초점을 맞추고 인간 복제에 관한 전망을 모색함으로써 종교-과학 사이의 대화를 위한 점증하는 시도들에 기여하고자 한다. 이를 위해서 이 논문은 우선 북미에서의 연구를 주도하는 과학과 종교의 관계에 관한 여러 입장들을 검토할 것이다. 둘째로, 이 논문은 인간복제에 관한 기대를 증폭시키는 유전학적 연구와 기술에서의 최근 업적들에 대해서도 고려할 것이다. 셋째로, 이 논문은 인간복제로 인해 야기될 가능성을 지닌 신학적이고 철학적인 과제들을 규명할 것이다. 넷째로, 이 논문은 인간복제에 관한 건설적인 기독교적 대응을 제안할 것이다. 이 논문에서 제안되는 건설적인 신학은 인간복제에 관한 추상적인 전망이나 추상적인 신학적 교리들을 넘어서 특정한 사회적-역사적 상황에서의 신학적 대화를 정초하는 문화적 전제들을 향하는 사고를 요구할 것이다. 다섯째로, 이 논문은 인간복제에 관한 종교-과학의 대화를 위해서 지금까지 제시되었던 것과는 다른 방향들을 제안할 것이다. 인간복제에 관련된 종교-과학의 대화는 종교들 간의 대화와 국제적인 대화를 포함하는 방향으로 점차로 부상하고 있기 때문이다.

The 1972 Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment demonstrated that the global environment is of intenational concern and called for the development of international standards to deal with environmental problems. During the following years the international community has made some progress in developing substantive international rules to deal with the more pressing issues of international concern, but it has done little to provide compulsory international machinery to settle disputes regarding the application of these rules. Disputes over the application of rules ae certain to arise as the problems of the environment become more vital to the survival of nations.

The dissemination and public engagement outcomes of the latest historical research evidence continues to benefit from tourism destination management and cultural institution intervention measures seeking to utilise digital technologies in reaching new audiences and enhancing visitor experiences through the deployment of high quality authenticated cultural heritage interpretative digital content – accessed both online and on location. Whilst such activities offer new models of increasing public engagement with historical research, arguably they now also provide a new critical currency in the experiential dimension of the global digital economy. It is recognised that cultural heritage is a main contributor to tourism development and internet tools provide platforms to extend the global reach of such heritage assets andnarratives as well as providing increased localised stimuli for in-destination visits to sites of historical interest and application of digital technology in presentation of aspects of intangible heritage. This paper investigates the digital heritage and interpretation practices undertaken by the University of Wales, Newport’s South Wales Centre for Historical and Interdisciplinary Research and shares the experiences of authoring content and designing pervasive and immersive digital deployments of authenticated cultural assets in response to national cultural institutions and local government sense of place, destination image and digital identity intervention measures in the region of south east Wales, United Kingdom.

This paper explores the perennial challenge Mathematics Teacher Educators (MTEs) face in connecting coursework and field experiences for their preservice teachers (PSTs). In this study, we used online simulation as a potential bridge, exploring its utility as a practice opportunity for PSTs and as formative assessment for MTEs. Four MTEs implemented an online simulation of teaching in their elementary mathematics content or methods course during COVID-19, when traditional ways to practice teaching were less available. We interviewed MTEs and administered post-surveys to both MTEs and the 53 PSTs in their courses who consented to participate. Most PSTs (93%) and all MTEs recommended simulated teaching for future use in similar courses. Both groups provided detailed descriptions of what they felt PSTs had learned, with PSTs most often citing learning how important preparation is and MTEs describing learning consistent with the intended focus of the simulation, facilitating argumentation-focused discussions. MTEs reported on how they used video records from the simulated teaching to reflect on their PSTs' progress and on their own teaching practice. We argue that simulated teaching offers unique affordances, including the degree of control over the challenges PSTs encounter and the formative assessment information video records provide.
The Intangible Cultural Heritage of Wales: a Need for Safeguarding

In the last decade, appearances of the Mari Lwyd have steadily increased during winter time in Wales. A tradition based around the decoration of a horses skull, regulated competitive verse and song, and community integration, would in many other parts of the world be acknowledged and celebrated as intangible cultural heritage. Yet, while the number of nations to have ratified the UNESCO Convention on the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage continues to grow on an annual basis, no such examples can be found in Wales however, or any other part of the United Kingdom, due to a continuing position of reticence from the Westminster government toward the convention. Does this lack of ratification indicate that Wales is not home to any examples of intangible cultural heritage? This article explores the notion of whether Wales is home to any valid forms of intangible cultural heritage, before challenging whether the same vulnerability seen in many of the international examples of intangible heritage can be illustrated in Wales. Ultimately this will argue that Welsh intangible cultural heritage is an important, living compotent of contemporary Welsh culture, and that UK ratification of the treaty, rather than being something that might be desired in Wales, should in fact be considered as a necessity.
