General quantum resonant switches which are operated on zero current or zero voltage switching( ZCS, ZVS ) conditions are proposed and analyzed. The quantum resonant switches are modeled as inductances for series resonant converters(SRC's) and capacitances for parallel resonant converters(PRC's). For these reasons, the quantum resonant converters having the same characteristics as conventional PWM conveners can be constructed by changing inductor to quantum series resonant switch(QSRS) module and capacitor to quantum parallel resonant switch(QPRS) module. Minimum switch constructions of quantum resonant converters are also suggested. Dc and ac transfer functions of the quantum resonant converters are obtained from models of quantum resonant switches. For the verification of these models, the transient simulations of quantum buck SRC are compared with those of the equivalent ac model.
