      • Gust Response and Active Suppress based on Reduced Order Models

Yang, Guowei,Nie, Xueyuan,Zheng, Guannan The Society for Aerospace System Engineering 2015 International Journal of Aerospace System Engineer Vol.2 No.2

A gust response analyses method based on Reduced Order Models (ROMs) was developed in the paper. Firstly, taken random signal as the input signal and adopt Single Input-Multi-Output (SIMO) training fashion, a ROM based on Auto-Regressive and Moving Average model (ARMA) was established and validated with the comparison of CFD/CSD and experiment. Then, by introducing control surface deflection and control laws, flutter active suppress was studied. Lastly, through filtering and transferring function, the gust temporal signal is obtained based on Dryden gust model, and gust response and suppress were simulated.

      • Identification of Aerodynamic Model CFD-Based for Gust Response Analysis

Nie, Xueyuan,Yang, Guowei The Society for Aerospace System Engineering 2015 International Journal of Aerospace System Engineer Vol.2 No.1

Aeroelastic gust response analysis plays an important role in design of aircrafts. For gust response analysis, frequency domain aerodynamics method has been typically used with generalized aerodynamic influence coefficient matrices at various reduced frequencies. However, it cannot be applied to the aeroservoelastic analysis, such as gust alleviation control. Time-domain state space (SS) models must be built. It attacks little attention that gust response analysis relies on continuous gust time-domain input signal in terms of its PSD function. The aim the current study is to provide a reduced-order modeling (ROM) method based on CFD to model gust responses for continuous gust responses for continuou gust inputs in time domain. The paper analyzed the gust response of AGARD445.6 wing subjected to the Dryden gust with ROMs and compared the difference between the rigid structure and elastic one. The results demonstrate that structure elastic effect effect should be considered in the design of aircraft.

Deep convolutional neural network: a novel approach for the detection of Aspergillus fungi via stereomicroscopy

        Ma Haozhong,Yang Jinshan,Chen Xiaolu,Jiang Xinyu,Su Yimin,Qiao Shanlei,Zhong Guowei 한국미생물학회 2021 The journal of microbiology Vol.59 No.6

Fungi of the genus Aspergillus are ubiquitously distributed in nature, and some cause invasive aspergillosis (IA) infections in immunosuppressed individuals and contamination in agricultural products. Because microscopic observation and molecular detection of Aspergillus species represent the most operator-dependent and time-intensive activities, automated and cost-effective approaches are needed. To address this challenge, a deep convolutional neural network (CNN) was used to investigate the ability to classify various Aspergillus species. Using a dissecting microscopy (DM)/stereomicroscopy platform, colonies on plates were scanned with a 35× objective, generating images of sufficient resolution for classification. A total of 8,995 original colony images from seven Aspergillus species cultured in enrichment medium were gathered and autocut to generate 17,142 image crops as training and test datasets containing the typical representative morphology of conidiophores or colonies of each strain. Encouragingly, the Xception model exhibited a classification accuracy of 99.8% on the training image set. After training, our CNN model achieved a classification accuracy of 99.7% on the test image set. Based on the Xception performance during training and testing, this classification algorithm was further applied to recognize and validate a new set of raw images of these strains, showing a detection accuracy of 98.2%. Thus, our study demonstrated a novel concept for an artificial-intelligence-based and cost-effective detection methodology for Aspergillus organisms, which also has the potential to improve the public’s understanding of the fungal kingdom.

2D-MELPP: A two dimensional matrix exponential based extension of locality preserving projections for dimensional reduction

Zixun Xiong,Minghua Wan,Rui Xue,Guowei Yang 한국인터넷정보학회 2022 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.16 No.9

Two dimensional locality preserving projections (2D-LPP) is an improved algorithm of 2D image to solve the small sample size (SSS) problems which locality preserving projections (LPP) meets. It’s able to find the low dimension manifold mapping that not only preserves local information but also detects manifold embedded in original data spaces. However, 2D-LPP is simple and elegant. So, inspired by the comparison experiments between two dimensional linear discriminant analysis (2D-LDA) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) which indicated that matrix based methods don’t always perform better even when training samples are limited, we surmise 2D-LPP may meet the same limitation as 2D-LDA and propose a novel matrix exponential method to enhance the performance of 2D-LPP. 2D-MELPP is equivalent to employing distance diffusion mapping to transform original images into a new space, and margins between labels are broadened, which is beneficial for solving classification problems. Nonetheless, the computational time complexity of 2D-MELPP is extremely high. In this paper, we replace some of matrix multiplications with multiple multiplications to save the memory cost and provide an efficient way for solving 2D-MELPP. We test it on public databases: random 3D data set, ORL, AR face database and Polyu Palmprint database and compare it with other 2D methods like 2D-LDA, 2D-LPP and 1D methods like LPP and exponential locality preserving projections (ELPP), finding it outperforms than others in recognition accuracy. We also compare different dimensions of projection vector and record the cost time on the ORL, AR face database and Polyu Palmprint database. The experiment results above proves that our advanced algorithm has a better performance on 3 independent public databases.

      • Non-Gaussian wind features over complex terrain under atmospheric turbulent boundary layers: A case study

        Hongtao Shen,Weicheng Hu,Qing-shan Yang,Fucheng Yang,Kunpeng Guo,Tong Zhou,Guowei Qian,Qinggen Xu,Ziting Yuan 한국풍공학회 2022 Wind and Structures, An International Journal (WAS Vol.35 No.6

In wind-resistant designs, wind velocity is assumed to be a Gaussian process; however, local complex topography may result in strong non-Gaussian wind features. This study investigates the non-Gaussian wind features over complex terrain under atmospheric turbulent boundary layers by the large eddy simulation (LES) model, and the turbulent inlet of LES is generated by the consistent discretizing random flow generation (CDRFG) method. The performance of LES is validated by two different complex terrains in Changsha and Mianyang, China, and the results are compared with wind tunnel tests and onsite measurements, respectively. Furthermore, the non-Gaussian parameters, such as skewness, kurtosis, probability curves, and gust factors, are analyzed in-depth. The results show that the LES method is in good agreement with both mean and turbulent wind fields from wind tunnel tests and onsite measurements. Wind fields in complex terrain mostly exhibit a left-skewed Gaussian process, and it changes from a softening Gaussian process to a hardening Gaussian process as the height increases. A reduction in the gust factors of about 2.0%-15.0% can be found by taking into account the non-Gaussian features, except for a 4.4% increase near the ground in steep terrain. This study can provide a reference for the assessment of extreme wind loads on structures in complex terrain.

      • Improved Algorithm of Association Matching for Pedestrian Tracking in Occlusion Scene

xiaofeng ZHANG,jianlan LIAO,dixing LI,guowei YANG 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Vol.9 No.1

In order to improve the association matching of multiple pedestrians in occlusion scene, an improved algorithm is proposed in this paper that combines the similarity matching of pedestrian object’s major color spectrum histogram combination with joint probabilistic data association. The similarity to major color spectrum histogram of pedestrian’s object is calculated between the previous and the frame that current frames in this algorithm. And take the centroid location of pedestrian’s target which is with the most largest similarity to correct the state vector of the JPDA algorithm in the current frame. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm could make the number of the targets’ label adhesion reduced to 40%, the number of the targets’ label confusion decreased about 33%, the recall rate of targets is increased by 6.8%, and the tracking accuracy is improved by 9.2% compared with the classical JPDA algorithm when the occlusion rate between pedestrians and intensity are not very high.

Preparation and Effect Analysis of {10–12} Extension Twins at the Edge of AZ31 Magnesium Alloy Plate

        Zhiquan Huang,Chuanlu Qi,Yanchun Zhu,Guowei Yang,Hongyu Lai,Jinchao Zou 대한금속·재료학회 2021 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.27 No.11

The edge samples of AZ31 magnesium alloy plate after hot rolling and annealing were compressed along the rolling direction(RD) under different deformation conditions. Then, the optimal conditions for the generation of {10–12} extension twinsand the microtexture evolution of edge samples were studied by using EBSD. The results show that the texture strength ofthe hot-rolled AZ31 magnesium alloy plate was significantly greater than that of the middle part. When the compressivestrain along the RD was small at the edge of the rolled piece at room temperature, a large number of extension twin layerswere generated. Grain matrix and twins coexisted. As the strain increased to 8.19%, the grains completely transformed intoextension twins. Along with the generation of extension twins, hard-oriented grains were consumed in large quantities andthe weakening effect of the basal texture was proportional to the volume fraction of the extension twins, while at high temperature(250 °C), the slip dominated the plastic deformation process.

Effects of resveratrol on mitochondrial biogenesis and physiological diseases

        Uriho Angelo,Tang Xue,Le Guowei,Yang Shaojun,Harimana Yves,Ishimwe Steven Papy,Yiping Lu,Zhang Kai,Ma Shuhua,Muhoza Bertrand 경희대학교 융합한의과학연구소 2021 Oriental Pharmacy and Experimental Medicine Vol.21 No.1

Plants produce a number of biological active substances with healthy benefits. Resveratrol (3,5,4′-trihydroxystilbene), a polyphenol produced by plants has been associated with many health beneficial properties, including its ability to induce mitochondrial biogenesis and fight against health problems such as obesity, inflammation, heart diseases, cancers among others. Mitochondrial dysfunction is recognized as central to the pathogenesis and development of many diseases. Thus the present review describes how resveratrol (RSV) may counteract physiological and age-related diseases/disorders through its effect on mitochondrial biogenesis and function. In addition, we discuss the chemistry, main sources, and the doses of RSV shown in previous studies to be efficient for the prevention and treatment of different diseases. Through its ability to improve mitochondrial dysfunction, RSV can be used in the prevention and/or treatment of human physiological diseases. However, more research for optimal dose in a human scale is still relevant. This review brings new hope to the therapy of physiological diseases as it will provide useful future perspectives for the planning of clinical studies on RSV and mito-chondrial dysfunction-related diseases.

Characterization of fermented pomegranate juice: ACE inhibitory activity under in vitro digestion, antioxidant capacity, phenolics composition, chemical properties and sensory evaluation

        Lichen Zhang,Linlin Wang,Jingwei Cai,Ting Yang,Jianke Li,Guowei Shu 한국식품과학회 2024 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.33 No.4

Consuming pomegranate juice (PJ) is beneficial for hypertensive regulation because of the phenolic compounds in PJ and their inhibitory activity on angiotensin-I-converting enzyme (ACE). To better utilize bioactive function of food, microorganism fermentation has been adopted to alter phenolic metabolism. This study confirms that even under in vitro digestion, fermented PJ (FPJ) maintains higher ACE inhibitory activity than that of PJ. The main phenolic compounds in PJ were compared either under fermentation or in vitro digestion. This study finds that fermentation promotes antioxidant capacity of PJ. The chemical properties of FPJ are evaluated and the corresponding relationship with bioactivities is analyzed. A sensory evaluation comparison is conducted between FPJ and PJ, furnishing interesting information for consumers. This study highlights the relationship between ACE inhibitory activity of PJ and phenolic composition under fermentation and in vitro digestion, providing novel insights for diet regulation of phenolic-rich FPJ in ACE inhibition therapy.
