Conception and Modeling of a Novel Small Cubic Antenna Design for WSN
Gahgouh Salem,Ragad Hedi,Gharsallah Ali International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2024 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.24 No.2
This paper presents a novel miniaturized 3-D cubic antenna for use in wireless sensor network (WSN) application. The geometry of this antenna is designed as a cube including a meander dipole antenna. A truly omnidirectional pattern is produced by this antenna in both E-plane and H-plane, which allows for non-intermittent communication that is orientation independent. The operating frequency lies in the ISM band (centered in 2.45 GHz). The dimensions of this ultra-compact cubic antenna are 1.25*1.12*1cm3 which features a length dimension λ/11. The coefficient which presents the overall antenna structure is Ka=0.44. The cubic shape of the antenna is allowing for smart packaging, as sensor equipment may be easily integrated into the cube hallow interior. The major constraint of WSN is the energy consumption. The power consumption of radio communication unit is relatively high. So it is necessary to design an antenna which improves the energy efficiency. The parameters considered in this work are the resonant frequency, return loss, efficiency, bandwidth, radiation pattern, gain and the electromagnetic field of the proposed antenna. The specificity of this geometry is that its size is relatively small with an excellent gain and efficiency compared to previously structures (reported in the literature). All results of the simulations were performed by CST Microwave Studio simulation software and validated with HFSS. We used Advanced Design System (ADS) to validate the equivalent scheme of our conception. Input here the part of summary.
Graphene Reconfigurable Antenna for GPS and Iridium Applications
Salem GAHGOUH,Ali GHARSALLAH International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2023 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.23 No.3
A frequency reconfigurable antenna based on graphene and used for multi-band wireless communications is presented in this article. The proposed antenna, which consists of two radiating rectangular loops with a graphene extension, is analyzed for Global Positioning System (GPS) and Iridium applications. Its operating frequency is tuned through the implementation of a layer of graphene and thereby adjusting the applied gate bias. Furthermore, the results show a novel use of graphene for microwave frequencies while achieving a frequency reconfiguration with an improvement of the impedance matching and the gain. The results also prove the importance of graphene, with its exceptional properties, for a promising future in nano-electronics.

This paper studies the magnetic fields between the power lines which are finite length and other ones which are infinitely long around the first tower in the proximity of the power transformers. They will be used as a source of disturbance applied to the power line. The method applied in this study was gradual; develop the theoretical formulation of the magnetic fields of these lines which are finite length and other ones which are infinitely long, examine the effects of different couplings between the different neighboring lines and the distribution transformers on behavior of magnetic fields. The method also focused on the experimental results analyzing the magnetic fields which will be used as a source applied to the auditory implants EMC. The theoretical and experimental results were compared and discussed for three power lines (90kV, 150kV and 225kV) near the power station, and it proved the effect of these substations on the simulated and measured results of the magnetic field. The maximum intensities of magnetic fields measured at the height of 1m from the ground for the circuit of three lines close to each substation were significantly lower than the ICNIRP reference levels for occupational and non occupational exposures.

In this paper, the theoretical and experimental characteristics of magnetic and electric fields in the vicinity of high voltage lines are investigated. To realize these measurements and calculations, we have developed some equations for two overhead power line configurations of 150 ㎸ (single circuit, double circuit), based on Biotsavart law, image and Maxwell theories, in order to calculate the magnetic and electric fields. The measurements were done to a maximum distance from the tower of 50 m, at a height of 1m from the ground. These experiments take into consideration the real situations of the power lines and associated equipment. The experimental results obtained are near to that of the Biot-Savart theoretical results for a far distance from the tower; and for a distance close to the power line, the results from the image theory are in good agreement with the experimental results.
A UHF/UWB Monopole Antenna Design Process Integrated in an RFID Reader Board
Mekki Kawther,Necibi Omrane,Lakhdhar Saoussen,Gharsallah Ali 한국전자파학회 2022 Journal of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science Vol.22 No.4
This paper presents a new circular monopole antenna with triple-band characteristics that can operate in both ultra-high frequency (UHF) and ultra-wideband (UWB) and can be integrated into a radio-frequency identification (RFID) system reader board. The antenna was built with a patch and a coplanar waveguide (CPW) feed microstrip line to meet the UHF/UWB bandwidth requirements for RFID applications. The designed antenna has a size of 70 mm × 60 mm × 0.8 mm. CST Microwave Studio simulations were used to validate the proposed antenna, which had a maximum gain of 4.8 dBi. Furthermore, the designed antenna had a radiation pattern that spanned the full working band. To interact with RFID tags, the antenna was built and installed into the RFID reader board. The simulation and measurement findings showed good agreement. Experiments indicated that the UHF-RFID performance of the monopole antenna was comparable to that of existing commercial solutions.

The present study revealed that the nutritive value of grape seeds (Vitis vinifera L.) was 383.55±0.13 Kcal/100 g, with magnesium as the most abundant mineral element (70.44±0.88 mg/L). The maximum phenolic (392.58±1.70mg of GAE/g), flavonoid (256.16±1.60 mg of QE/g), and tannin (30.95±0.17mg of CE/g) contents were also found in the ethanol, dichloromethane, and hexane extracts, respectively. The major phytochemical compounds in the ethyl acetate extract were identified via gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) analysis. The ethanol extract has the highest antioxidant activity (IC50=140±1.20 μg/mL for DPPH, 145.28±0.45mg α-tocopherol/g for total antioxidant capacity, and EC50=80±1.41 μg/mL for ferric-reducing power assays). For β-carotene test, the highest antioxidant activity was obtained in the hexane extract. A satisfactory antimicrobial activity was found against a panel of microorganisms with the ethyl acetate extract as the best antimicrobial agent. Additionally, it was found that the bactericidal concentration required for the grape seed extract to kill Listeria monocytogenes should be less than 12.50 mg/mL (minimum inhibitory concentration=4).
