• The Split Common Fixed Point Problem for Demicontractive Mappings in Banach Spaces

Yang, Li,Zhao, Fuhai,Kim, Jong Kyu Eudoxus Press LLC 2017 Journal of computational analysis and applications Vol.22 No.5

In this paper, based on the work by Moudafi and inspired by Takahashi and Xu, we try to investigate the split common fixed point problems for the class of demicontractive mappings in the setting of two Banach spaces, and obtain the strong and weak convergence theorems. The results presented in the paper improve and extend some recent well-known corresponding results.

Ginkgolic Acid Suppresses Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Growth by Inducing Apoptosis and Inhibiting AKT/NF-κB Signaling

        Yu Xiao,Fen Li,Anyuan Zheng,Qibing Chen,Fuhai Chen,Xiang Cheng,Zezhang Tao 한국식품영양과학회 2021 Journal of medicinal food Vol.24 No.8

Even though nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is not common worldwide, it is a major public health burden in endemic areas. Distant metastasis often leads to a poor prognosis for NPC; therefore, new and effective anticancer strategies are needed. Ginkgolic acid (GA) is small-molecule compound existing in Ginkgo biloba that has various biologically relevant activities, including antitumor properties; however, its effects and mechanism of action in NPC are unknown. The effects of GA on NPC and such underlying mechanisms were investigated using 5–8F and CNE2 cells and NP69 human immortalized nasopharyngeal epithelial cells in this study. Moreover, the xenograft models were built to examine GA's effection in vivo. GA treatment decreased the survival and invasive capacity of 5–8F and CNE2 and induced their apoptosis, which varied with dose; this was accompanied by downregulation of B cell lymphoma (Bcl)2, upregulation of Bcl2-associated X protein, and activation of poly-ADP ribose polymerase, and caspase-9/-3. G0/G1 phase arrest was induced by GA in NPCs. It also reduced the expression of cyclin-dependent kinase 6 and its regulators cyclin D2 and cyclin D3. GA inhibited the activation of protein kinase B/nuclear factor signaling; this effect was potentiated with GA and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), which also enhanced 5-FU-induced apoptosis. In summary, GA may be effective as an adjuvant to conventional chemotherapy drugs in preventing the progression of NPC.

Experimental Study on Bond Performance between Shotcrete and Rock in a Hot and Humid Tunnel Environment

        Shengai Cui,Bing Zhu,Fuhai Li,Yuezhong Ye 대한토목학회 2016 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.20 No.4

To study the bond performance between shotcrete and rock in a hot and humid tunnel, experiments on wet-sprayed shotcrete specimens under different hot and humid curing conditions (35°C, 50°C, 70°C, and standard curing conditions: 20°C with relative humidity 95%) were performed to examine the influence of thermal damage. The results show that the bond strength at 35°C is higher compared with that at standard curing conditions, but decreases when the temperature rises (especially at 70°C), indicating the adverse effects of thermal damage on bond strength. Based on these results, we used the worst hot and humid condition (70°C) as a case study to explore measures to improve bond strength under hot and humid conditions by adding mineral admixture or fiber material to the shotcrete mix. The experimental results suggest that adding fly ash or slag powder can enhance the bond strength, with the best effect achieved by adding fly ash.

Uniaxial Tensile Performance of PP-ECC: Effect of Curing Temperatures and Fly Ash Contents

        Hesong Jin,Shiyu Yang,Haiyan Xu,Ziyi Xu,Fuhai Li,Yang Tian,Shuang Zhou 대한토목학회 2020 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.24 No.11

To investigate the influence of curing conditions and raw materials on the performance of engineered cement-based composites (ECCs), polypropylene fiber engineered cement-based composites (PP-ECCs) were designed and manufactured. The mathematical relationships between the fly ash content, curing temperature and PP-ECC tensile properties were explored by a uniaxial tensile test and by scanning electron microscopy. The results show the following: 1) with the increase in fly ash content and curing temperature, the ultimate tensile strain, ultimate tensile stress and tensile toughness index of the PP-ECC show a trend of first increasing and then decreasing, while the modulus of elasticity increases. 2) The optimum temperature is 20°C for the hydration reaction of the cementitious material inside the PP-ECC matrix. 3) When the fly ash content is 40% and the curing temperature is 20°C, the tensile mechanical parameters, ductility and toughness index of the PP-ECC are the best. This set of variables is recommended as a reference for PP-ECC engineering applications. 4) A mathematical relationship among the tensile strength, tensile strain and elastic modulus of the PP-ECC and coupling variables (fly ash content and curing temperature) is established.
