Evaluation of the true-strength characteristics for isotropic materials using ring tensile test

The paper proposes a technique for reconstructing the true hardening curve of isotropic materials from ring tensile tests. Neutron irradiated 42XNM alloy tensile properties were investigated. The calculation of the true hardening curve for tensile and compression tests of standard cylindrical samples was performed at the first step. After that, the FEM-model was developed and validated using the ring tension and compression tests (with the hardening curve defined in step 1). Finally, the true hardening curve was calculated by selecting the FEM-model parameters and its validation by ring sample tests in different states using an iterative method. For these samples, experimental and calculated gauge length values were obtained, and the corresponding material's constants were estimated.

We study the gravitational field of a spinning radiation beam-pulse (a gyraton) in a higher dimensional spacetime. We show that the vacuum Einstein equations for gyratons reduce to two linear problems in Euclidean space. We obtain and discuss the solutions for relativistic gyratons and consider special examples.

Chromium-nickel alloy 42XNM (XHM-1, Bochvalloy) is considered as a promising material for future generations of nuclear reactors, primarily as a material for the fuel elements shells in the development of accident tolerant fuel. However, as with most nickel-based alloys, 42ХNМ is characterized by a sharp decrease in plastic properties in the temperature range of (500-900)℃. This effect is enhanced by neutron irradiation. Preliminary tests of ring samples of 42XNM alloy (after irradiation as a part of the VVER-1000 control system) in the temperature range of ductility failure showed that the standard technique for processing tensile diagrams does not allow to evaluate the plastic properties correctly at low strains. Therefore, in this work, the alternative method for testing ring samples from materials with low plastic characteristics was developed. It was shown that the minimum value of the permanent strain of the irradiated 42XNM alloy in the temperature range of (500-1100)℃, determined by the alternative method, was ~1.6% at 750 ℃.

In 1984, Bychkov and Rashba introduced a simple form of spin–orbit coupling to explain the peculiarities of electron spin resonance in two-dimensional semiconductors. Over the past 30 years, Rashba spin–orbit coupling has inspired a vast number of predictions, discoveries and innovative concepts far beyond semiconductors. The past decade has been particularly creative, with the realizations of manipulating spin orientation by moving electrons in space, controlling electron trajectories using spin as a steering wheel, and the discovery of new topological classes of materials. This progress has reinvigorated the interest of physicists and materials scientists in the development of inversion asymmetric structures, ranging from layered graphene-like materials to cold atoms. This Review discusses relevant recent and ongoing realizations of Rashba physics in condensed matter.

In this article, we look at the application of BIM (Building Information Modeling) in sustainable infrastructures. In response to global warming, energy shortages, and environmental degradation, people are trying to build eco-friendly, low-carbon cities and promote eco-friendly homes. A "green" building is the entire life cycle of a building that includes maximizing the conservation of resources (energy, water, land, and materials), protecting the environment, reducing pollution, providing people with healthy, comfortable, and efficient use of space, and establishing harmony between nature and architecture. In the field of ecological and sustainable buildings, BIM modeling can be integrated into buildings with analog energy, air flow analysis, and solar building ecosystems. Using BIM technologies, you can reduce the amount of waste and improve the quality of construction. These technologies create "visualization" of digital building models through multidimensional digital design solutions that provide" modeling and analysis "of Scientific Collaboration Platforms for designers, architects, utility engineers, developers, and even end users. Moreover, BIM helps them use three-dimensional digital models in project design and construction and operational management.
