      • An analytical model of the additional confining stress in a prestress-reinforced embankment

        Xinyu Ye,Fangxu Li,Wuming Leng,Xi Ai,Hossein Moayedi,Qishu Zhang 국제구조공학회 2023 Smart Structures and Systems, An International Jou Vol.31 No.5

Using a device composed of two lateral pressure plates (LPPs) and a steel reinforcement bar to apply horizontal pressure on slope surfaces, a newly developed prestress-reinforced embankment (PRE) is proposed, to which can be adopted in strengthening railway subgrades. In this study, an analytical model, which is available of calculating additional confining stress (<i>σ</i>H) at any point in a PRE, was established based on the theory of elasticity. In addition, to verify the proposed analytical model, three dimensional (3D) finite element analyses were conducted and the feasibility in application was also identified and discussed. In order to study the performance of the PRE, the propagation of <i>σ</i>H in a PRE was analyzed and discussed based on the analytical model. For the aim of convenience in application, calculation charts were developed in terms of three dimensionless parameters, and they can be used to accurately and efficiently predict the <i>σ</i>H in a PRE regardless of the embankment slope ratio and LPP side length ratio. Finally, the potential applications of the proposed analytical model were discussed.

Regulation of Colonic Mucosal MicroRNA Expression via Multiple Targets in Visceral Hypersensitivity Rats by Tongxieyaofang

        Guanqun Chao,Yingying Wang,Fangxu Ye,Shuo Zhang 연세대학교의과대학 2018 Yonsei medical journal Vol.59 No.8

Purpose: This study aimed to screen for differentially expressed microRNAs (miRNAs) in the colons of rats with visceral hypersensitivityto build the expression profiles of miRNAs therein and to determine the mechanism of Tongxieyaofang use in thetreatment of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Materials and Methods: Forty Sprague-Dawley rats were divided randomly into four groups: control group, model control group(induced by rectum stimulus and evaluated by abdominal withdraw reaction), treatment control group (normal saline), andTongxieyaofang group (treated with Tongxieyaofang). We screened for differential expression of colonic mucosal miRNAs usingliquid chip technology and verified the expression thereof using reverse transcription-PCR. Results: The visceral hypersensitivity rat model was successfully established. We found the expression of let-7f, let-7i, miR-130b,miR-29a, miR-132, miR-21, and miR-375 to be up-regulated (p<0.05), while the expression of miR-24, miR-31a, miR-192, miR-221,and miR-223 was down-regulated (p<0.05) in the visceral hypersensitivity rats. After treatment with Tongxieyaofang, the expressionof let-7f, let-7i, miR-130b, miR-29a, miR-132, miR-21, and miR-375 was reduced (p<0.05), whereas the expression of miR-24,miR-31a, miR-192, miR-221, miR-223 was increased, compared to the treatment control group (p<0.05). Conclusion: MiRNAs play a pivotal role in visceral hypersensitivity and might be targets in the treatment of IBS by Tongxieyaofang.

      • A Novel Social Context-Aware Data Forwarding Scheme in Mobile Social Networks

        Fang Xu,Huyin Zhang,Min Deng,Ning Xu,Zhiyong Wang,Zenggang Xiong,Conghuan Ye 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Smart Home Vol.10 No.6

Routing in disconnected delay-tolerant mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) continues to be a challenging issue. Several works have been done to address the routing issues using the social behaviors of each node. Mobile Social Networks (MSNs) are increasingly popular type of Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs). The routing performance improves when knowledge regarding the expected topology and the social context information of the networks. In this paper, we introduce a new metric for data forwarding based on social context information, in which node’s social context information is used to calculate the encounter utility between a node and destination, and the social relationship of network nodes is used to calculate the betweenness centrality utility of a node. We combine two utility functions to derive the social strength among users and their importance. We also present social context-based data forwarding algorithm for routing decision. Extensive simulations on real traces show that the introduced algorithm is more efficient than the existing algorithms.
