<P> The fixed-points theory has been used as one of the design laws in fabricating a vibration neutralizer for the control of a relatively simple structure. The underlying principle of the theory is that in the frequency response function (FRF) of the system considered, there exist two fixed points that are common to all FRF curves regardless of the damping value of the neutralizer. It is possible, with the proper selection of the neutralizer's resonance frequency, to determine the optimal damping value of the neutralizer that provides a smooth FRF by following the standard procedure of the theory. Recently, the authors have extended the application of the theory for global vibration control of a continuous structure with well separated natural frequencies. In this paper, the application is further extended to global vibration control of a structure with natural frequencies that are closely spaced. Through some numerical simulations, it is shown that the theory can also be used to remove the effects of the dominant mode within the frequency range where the global response is dominated by that mode. However, there are some limitations in its application especially for the overlapping natural frequencies.</P>
Factors Affecting the Sales of Newspapers and Magazines Based on Concise Catalog
Dayou Jiang 한국정보처리학회 2023 Journal of information processing systems Vol.19 No.4
The traditional newspaper industry faces the opportunities and challenges of industry transformation andintegration with new media. Consequently, the catalogs of newspapers and magazines are also updated. In thisstudy, necessary information on catalogs was obtained and used to analyze the overall development trend ofthe newspaper industry. A word frequency analysis was then performed on the introduction and product categories of the catalogs, and the content and types of newspapers and magazines were examined. Furthermore, related factors such as price, number of pages, publishing frequency, and best-selling status were analyzed; thecorrelation among factors affecting best-selling status was also explored. Subsequently, each element and acombination of elements were used to generate a dataset, build three classification models, and analyze theaccuracy of predictions of whether newspapers sold well under other circumstances. The experimental resultsshowed that price is the most critical factor affecting the best-selling status of newspapers and magazines. Publishing frequency and the number of pages were also found to be significant indicators that impact people'ssubscription choices. Finally, a competitive strategy regarding content, price, quality, and positioning wasdeveloped.

This paper proposes a zero-video watermark scheme based on 2D-DWT and pseudo 3D-DCT, otherwise Singular Value Decomposition and log-polar transform are applied. The method makes no changes to original images while embedding the owner information of images so as to achieve high transparency. The log-polar transform ensures that the method is robust to rotation operations. In order to achieve the high robustness and security, we use chaotic logistic mapping and spread spectrum (CLMSS) to spread the watermark information. we also use the visual cryptography (VC) scheme to split the secret image into two shares. In the scheme, we use spread spectrum to encode the watermark to a Code Division Multiple Access watermark and use dual transform and log-polar to generate the feature values. Then the visual cryptography scheme is applied to generate the secret image from the feature values and the watermark. In the extraction scheme, we use the secret image which is registered to certification authority and the feature values extracted from the examined image with visual cryptography scheme to generate the CDMA watermark, and then decrypt it to get the watermark information. The experimental are conducted to verify the robustness through a series of experiments.
Adaptive Robust Video Watermarking Scheme based on Dual Transform Domains and Holography
DaYou Jiang,De Li,Jong Weon Kim 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Security and Its Applicat Vol.9 No.3
This paper proposes a digital video watermarking scheme based on 2D-DWT and pseudo 3D-DCT transformation, otherwise Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) are applied. To enhance the robustness of watermark, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm and Holography are used for embedding watermarks. The Hash scrambling transformation is used for ensuring the security of the method. During the embedding process, the quantization coefficients are dynamically determined by PSO algorithm. The method selects some key-frames in raw video to extract the luminance components and take them into some groups. The subband of generated hologram watermark is embedded into the subband of the singular value of each DCT block in every group. The experimental are conducted to verify the robustness through some common signal processing and frame-based attacks.
Texture Image Retrieval Using DTCWT-SVD and Local Binary Pattern Features
Dayou Jiang,김종원 한국정보처리학회 2017 Journal of information processing systems Vol.13 No.6
The combination texture feature extraction approach for texture image retrieval is proposed in this paper. Two kinds of low level texture features were combined in the approach. One of them was extracted fromsingular value decomposition (SVD) based dual-tree complex wavelet transform (DTCWT) coefficients, andthe other one was extracted from multi-scale local binary patterns (LBPs). The fusion features of SVD basedmulti-directional wavelet features and multi-scale LBP features have short dimensions of feature vector. Thecomparing experiments are conducted on Brodatz and Vistex datasets. According to the experimental results, the proposed method has a relatively better performance in aspect of retrieval accuracy and time complexityupon the existing methods.

Increasing the Output from Piezoelectric Energy Harvester Using Width-Split Method with Verification
Chow Man Sang,Jedol Dayou,Willey Y. H. Liew 한국정밀공학회 2013 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol. No.
This paper proposes a new scheme for piezoelectric energy harvesting maximization. The proposed enhancement relies on a new topology of splitting a specified dimension piezo composite bender into beams with smaller width and, therefore, higher quality factor (or Q factor). The increase of Q factor allows a much more effective energy conversion process. It is shown that the proposed method, based on single splitting, increases the harvested power by a factor of up to √6, and up to √7.62 for two even-splitting compared to with no splitting. The wideband operation is accomplished by using different resonating benders in such a way that individual benders are each tuned to a different resonance frequency. Taking the configuration of single even-splitting as an example, the power output of the prototype was 39 μW at 27.2 Hz with 8 Hz bandwidth under 2 mm peak-to-peak input displacement and 3 Hz variation in resonant frequency. This corresponds to more than 2 times of power output with no splitting as well as about 23% increase in bandwidth. Such power output is sufficient to power up electronics devices such as a “2 AA dry cells-powered” digital clock with the wider range operating frequency.
