Preparation and Performance of Road Micro-surfacing Materials with Exhaust Purification Function

Road micro-surfacing materials with exhaust purification function were developed to purify and alleviate serious air pollution in cities. Two types of functional materials satisfied the basic performance requirements of aggregates and fillers were selected to develop micro-surfacing materials with exhaust purification function. Test equipment for exhaust purification effect was invented, and test methods were proposed. The exhaust purification effect involved in functional micro-surfacing materials was comprehensively investigated. The road performance was also evaluated. Finally, the exhaust purification mechanism of functional micro-surfacing materials was revealed. Results showed that the purification rates of gaseous pollutants (COx, NOx, and SO2) and particulate pollutants (PM 2.5 and PM 10) were above 15% and 50%, respectively based on indoor heating and cooling intervals, and that of outdoors were 20% and 40%. The functional micro-surfacing materials exhibited satisfactory road performance. Moreover, the self-polarization effect of the functional materials contributed to the exhaust purification effect.
Joint estimation for single index mean–covariance models with longitudinal data

In this paper, based on the Cholesky decomposition, we construct a single index mean–covariance model for longitudinal data, and then propose a two-step estimation procedure. In the first step, we obtain initial estimators of index coefficient and the link function by ignoring the possible correlation between repeated measures. Then, generalized autoregressive coefficients and innovation variances are estimated based on these initial estimators. In the second step, we employ profile weighted least squares techniques to obtain the more efficient estimators of index coefficients and the unknown link function. All resulting estimators in both the mean and covariance models are shown to be consistent and asymptotically normal. Simulation study and a real data analysis show that the proposed estimators in this paper are more efficient than some existing approaches.

In this paper, we propose a data-driven penalized weighted composite quantile regressionestimation for varying coefficient models with heteroscedasticity, which results in sparseand robust estimators simultaneously. With local weighted composite quantile regressionsmoothing and adaptive group LASSO, the new method can identify the true model andestimate the coefficient functions and heteroscedasticity simultaneously. The resultingestimators can be as efficient as the oracle estimators by using the SIC criterion to selectthe tuning parameters. In addition, we revise a mistake of Theorem 2 in Guo, Tian, andZhu (2012). The finite sample performance of the newly proposed method is investigatedthrough simulation studies and a real data example.
System-on-Chip Single Event Effect hardening design and validation using proton irradiation

A multi-layer design is applied to mitigate single event effect (SEE) in a 28 nm System-on-Chip (SoC). It depends on asymmetric multiprocessing (AMP), redundancy and system watchdog. Irradiation tests utilized 70 and 90 MeV proton beams to examine its performance through comparative analysis. Via examining SEEs in on-chip memory (OCM), compared with the trial without applying the multi-layer design, the test results demonstrate that the adopted multi-layer design can effectively mitigate SEEs in the SoC.
