N/A The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of resveratrol on the oxidative stress-induced inhibition of gap junctional intercellular communication in HaCaT keratinocytes. Anti-oxidative activity of resveratrol was measured by α,α-diphenyl-β-picrylhydrazyl assay and dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate oxidation assay. Gap junctional intercellular communication in HaCaT keratinocytes was assessed using the scrape loading/dye transfer technique. Western blots and reverse transcription-polymerasechain reaction were also analyzed for connexin 43 protein and in RNA expression, respectively. Resveratrol scavenged directly the stable α,α-diphenyl-β-picrylhydrazyl radical over a concentration range of 4 mg/ml (78.2±2.7% of control) 세 500mg/ml (29.9±4.2% of control) and decreased the intracellular reactive oxygen species induced by ultraviolet A (UVA) irradiation (89.3 ± 1.1% of UVA group), ultraviolet B (UVB) irradiation (70.9 ±1.7% of UVB group) and 12-Ο-tet-radecanoylphorbol-13-acetate(TPA, 48.3±1.1% of TPA group),respectively. UVA irradiation and TPA markedly reduced gap junctional intercellular communication, which was restored by resveratrol. There were no significant differences in the level of connexin 43 protein and mRNA expression among any of the experimental groups. Our data suggests that resveratrol has the protective effect on the oxidative stress-induced inhibition of gap junctional intercellular communication in HaCaT keratinocytes, and this protection is likely due to the scavenging of reactive oxygen species.

This study aims to investigate the fabrication process of nano silicon mold using electron beam lithography (EBL) to generate the nanometer level patterns by nano-imprinting technology. The nano-patterned mold including 100nm pattern size has been fabricated by EBL with different doses ranged from 22 to 38 μC/cm² on silicon using the conventional polymethymenthacrylate (PMMA) resist. The silicon mold is fabricated with various pattems such as circles, rectangles, crosses, oblique lines and mixed forms. The effect of dosage on pattern density in EBL is discussed based on SEM(Scanning Electron Microscopy) analysis of fabricated molds. The mold surface is modified by hydrophobic fluorocarbon (FC) thin films to avoid the stiction during nano-imprinting process.
Effects of Cheonggukjang and Doenjang on Bone Loss in Ovariectomized Rats

The effects of cheonggukjang and doenjang on bone mineral density, trabecular area and cortical thickness of the tibia, and serum osteocalcin level in ovariectomized rats were investigated. After 4 weeks, bone mineral density, bone trabecular area, the cortical thickness index, and serum osteocalcin level were analyzed. The cheonggukjang and doenjang diet groups showed significant prevention of ovariectomized (OVX)-related body weight gain. Whole body bone mineral density of the OVX group was significantly lower than that of the sham group, whereas the cheonggukjang and doenjang diets resulted in complete restoration of bone mineral density. Trabecular area in the proximal diaphysis and cortical thickness in the distal diaphysis of the tibia were increased significantly in the cheonggukjang and doenjang diet fed groups. The cheonggukjang and doenjang diets significantly reduced serum osteocalcin level in the OVX rats. These results suggest that cheonggukjang and doenjang might have inhibitory effects on osteoporosis, by showing accelerated bone formation in OVX rats.
Morphological Characteristics of Intestine in Rats Fed Acidified Small Black Soybean

In this study, the effects of processed small black soybeans on the intestinal morphological characteristics of rats were examined. Adult male rats were fed diets containing raw, cooked, or acidified small black soybean powders for 4 weeks. The total short chain fatty acid (SCFA) level was significantly higher in the acidified small black soybean supplemented group than in the raw and cooked soybean diet groups. The major SCFAs found in the experimental groups were acetate, followed by propionate and butyrate. The duodenal villus height and colonic mucosal thickness were also significantly higher in the acidified small black soybean supplemented group than in the raw and cooked soybean diet groups. The acidified small black soybean supplemented group showed the densest colonic mucosa by staining with alcian blue (AB), as compared to the raw and cooked soybean diet groups. The acidified small black soybean supplemented group exhibited strongly stained CD⁴? in the mucosal lamina propria, while cooked and acidified diet groups were more strongly stained CD?? in the submucosal lamina propria than the raw diet group. These results suggest that acidified small black soybeans may help improve intestinal function.

It has been said that local governments in Korea have not successfully implemented investment evaluation. which is related to investment projects. Currently. there are several institutional measures implement those investment evaluation more efficiently through well-planned investment strategies.The investment analysis system has been introduced to enhance feasibility of projects that are related to public investment of local governments. This has been generally evaluated as being successful to reduce in efficient investments and also to lead local governments to more rational financial management.The investment analysis system, however, still has some problems that related to investment appraisal system, investment analysis methods. Investment analysis system needs to improvement in system and methods. Specially, there are need to improvement that related to role of investment analysis system, feasibility analysis methods, practical use of evaluation results.
